8/12 and apart from Peterborough v Wigan last October, the only football league I have watched has been a few minutes on Ch5 when I’ve been waiting for MOTD to come on BBC1.

Bullshit gets his arse kicked again. ;-)

Leaving three stands for the scousers is a bit too much IMHO.

To me the team of League One is the one that finished number one.

Indeed. League tables don’t lie. Wigan were the best team in the 3rd division over 46 league games and finished top.

Which is why I said Barnsley were the form team of 2016. In 2015, JPT games aside, they were pants.

That said, Barnsley have had two Wembley victories and a promotion this season, so I can see where the comment about them being the most successful team is coming from. I also see they are having an open-top bus ride on Monday to celebrate their success, which sadly wasn’t done in Wigan.

They seemed to be taking it seriously back in early December…

That said, Barnsley are the form team in that division in 2016. League matches played 23, Won 15, Drawn 5, Lost 3.

That sort of form over a season would see them not only “Smash the League” – they’d get 100 points ;-)

Just have one last look at the league one table 2015-16, after 46 games, its that fekin thing that counts.

All, this if they, if we, what if malarkey is a load of tosh.
I think we are also talking about a team here that IMO, will still be in league one next season. B)[/quote]

    As I said – the 3rd division’s form team in 2016.

    I wish i could provide a link

You cant provide a link because I never said it. The difference between you & I is that when I make a claim, I am happy to provide a link or source. You make things up and try and pass them off as facts by getting your “mates” (pfft  ) to quickly log in and agree with you.

  Another bullshit claim from the WEP multi-alias troll.

Smutty, when Latics fans took the piss when Wigan rugby LOST the last two GF’s you boasted that Wigan rugby would win a trophy before Latics would.

    Wrong! Lol.

Simple challenge, even for you – Produce a link to where I said that.

Now, seeing as you are on home turf, there’s no need to go all shy like you do on the WEP when challenged to provide a link to your claims.

    Over to you….

Your definition of knackered must be interesting:

15 years of five-figure average attendances.
13 years since a regular-season league fixture attracted less than 10,000 at the DW.
    6 consecutive top-four finishes.
2 GF wins and 2 runners-up in the last 6 years.
2 points off top spot this season with 14 games still to be played.

I think the new Chairman of the Football League is doing rather a good job of running his home-town RL club, and others could do worse than take a leaf from his book. That said, if he fancies taking a trip to Wembley to watch two massive clubs play for the right to play other massive clubs in the premier league then that is his prerogative.

Will Cardiff’s owners be boycotting the DW next season again?

We want more games not less.

Try staying in the cups beyond the 1st round then. ;)

Any bids yet for Emyr Huws? I’m sure he doesn’t fancy being here pre-season and meeting his team-mates that he considered beneath him last year.

His twitter account doesn’t even mention his parent club winning the league, but he found time to say how much he enjoyed being at Huddersfield.

Both clubs had something to play for when they met in the Paint Trophy Semi final too.

    He’s a poor man’s Grant Holt.

You really don’t want to be spending your final Parachute Payment on the likes of him!

I thought it was a given that the managers who won their divisions would win the award.

Sean Dyche must be scratching his head today.

in reply to: Play Offs #148594

If play-offs remain they really should be one legged, at the home of the higher placed club, with the final again being at the home of the higher placed club. That way, league position really does give you a huge advantage.

    They’ll go straight back up!

I’m not too sure. Last time they had the likes of Joey Barton and Kevin Nolan in their promotion-winning side – players who were prepared to roll their sleeves up and get a tackle in on a rainy night in Rotherham.

It will depend on the character of their manager and whether or not he can instill some guts and determination into a highly paid, underachieving bunch. If its Nigel Pearson, then they have a chance of getting back.

Personally, I think Norwich will be the best equipped to come straight back. Villa wont be close for a long time.
