Well I do feel sorry for them if you think about the way the game has gone with all these foreign money men who have no real feeling for the sport buying into some clubs, it was inevitable this could happen. Man Ure and Liverpool probably the biggest clubs on the planet have not escaped this modern day phenominum and are now trying their damndest to rid themselves of their present owners. Also in Pompeys case and Brighton both these clubs have been faced with constant battles for donkeys years with their local councils who have continually blocked their attempts to relocate to bigger stadiums which would have seen them bring in much needed revenue. Dont forget we were under threat of expulsion from the league coz of the state of dear old Springy but we were lucky enough to have a council who along with Mr Whelan could see that Robin Park was the right choice and gave full backing in the project. What has gone on at Portsmouth is a disgrace and no fan whoever they support deserves that so I cant help feeling sorry for them

For what its worth, I think this is the season we lose our top flight status. We were lucky last season that the teams below us were so god dam awful and cant see it hapening again. Any more of those ‘one off’ thrashings that we had last year and confidence will take a dive, especially if it happens early on in the season.

It will a completely new defensive lineup this season so why should we get thrashed?

will be hard like every other season and we will need luck with injuries etc but if the new faces gel quickly and play to their billing we could upset a few people this time.

in reply to: Whelan defends Latics’ foreign buys #41260

When you hear that Jimmy Bullard wants 75k a week to go to Celtic, can you blame managers for buying overseas? I would doubt we could afford the wage demands of most English players nowadays.

in reply to: here we go again #41088

Citeh buying everything that moves and having 40 odd players, now thats a joke especially when your allowed a squad of 25. Lets see what happens till the end of the window tho ive already stated on this forum ill be more than peeved if the likes of Rodders and Figgy go at the last minute. Lets get our buisness done early so the team can settle.
