I just worry egg it could backfire on us. The players we have Grealish, Saka, Foden, Rashford, Sancho etc are friknin and could terrify any defence. I also believe if we were more adventurous we could give somebody a reet tonkin. We could also go out by being cautious against a decent team who will attack. It’s fine lines but we are close to going all the way and I really believe our best chance is to go for the jugular and not let the teams left in it bother us.

I thought we were gonna blow it again but he finally saw sense and Grealish .made
a difference. Please play him from the start on Saturday and let them worry about playing us not the other way round. We will never get a better chance than this.

We fall down every tournament because we dont play the game like we do at club level. If we played at 100 mile an hour like they do in the Prem I reckon we would thump the square yedded sausage munchers. But once again we will go back to the conservative pass pass pass tactics which allow the opposition time to get tight and stop us playing. With the pace we have in this squad we should be capable of beating anybody as long as we played our own game. The Herman’s are a bit static in defence and we could terrorise them if we allow the likes of Grealish and Sako to play their natural offencive style. We certainly have better players than the Atilla,s but do we have the manager brave enough to let them off the leash.

The owners are certainly putting their money where their mouth is. Good signing this along with the others. Too much to expect that the squad will be sorted this window and I reckon it will take a couple more windows to get us up there with the favorites but hats off to Pheonix 21. Div 1 is certainly going to see a much stronger much better Wigan Athletic next season. COYL. :yahoo:

Dont understand this it was Scotland for gods sake and it’s all about sending the horrible feckers packing. At least the Czechs and Croats had the balls to face them in their own backyard unlike the gutless prima Donna’s who were shit scared. Tonight was no better and we will probably follow the haggis munching bag pipe playing kilt wearing caber tossing losers in the next game. Southgate is boring the tournament to death.

For obvious reasons last season at times we were the whipping boys (except for that massive club Blunderland who couldnt take a point off the worse Latics team in 89 years as a club). We wont be this season. I doubt we will be anywhere near promotion as the rebuild is enormous and it will take a few transfer windows to put the squad back together again but we will upset a lot of teams ( nowt new there then). Hopefully a comfortable season after the horrors of last where relegation is never on the cards. COYL

I may be wrong but I dont think we had any money from the PFA to pay the players wages whilst Bolton and Bury definately did. Our debts were minuscule compared to Boltons and like Super Stu says player sales would have easily cleared what debts we had. Dont forget Fulham were in for Robinson for a reported fee of 10 mill. Gelhardt was also being touted for a big money move to Leeds. Both moves happened but at a fraction of the cost because of the rules of administration. Our situation was completely different to Boltons.

To get back on topic Fratton Park is a special away day fixture and takes some beating imho. COYL

With so much inexperience and player changes throughout the season I think it’s only natural we would have a terrible disciplinary record. The fact we survived a season with so many departures both on and off the field is quite staggering. Most of our yellow and red cards were down to clumsiness more than malice from players not yet up to the standard we needed. Watch the difference next season depending on the calibre of player we bring in.COYL

Imagine where we would have been had we not had a superb and very strong academy. Some were sold to pay the way whilst others stepped up and overnight became men. I dont want to pick anyone singular I’m so proud of every person associated with WAFC. Each and every player did their part and are hero,s.Leam and Gregor also. So if I must pick one name only it will be T Reeandcrown. COYL

There is a hell of rebuilding to be done with the coaching staff as well so we shouldn’t expect too much next season. The total destruction of Wigan Athletic isnt going to be rectified overnight. It could take a few seasons before we can compete again seriously.
