Absolutely…..if he’s good enough hes old enough. What is the point of all this time invested in such a talent and then not using him. Load of bollocks all this too much too soon,he must be chomping to get game time and last night was a perfect opportunity to use him last 20. What instead ??..Not use him then flog him and let useless blow the funds on work horses !!!..Ideal foil for Moore and more than anything…..youth players like him play with no fear…….Won’t change under Cook…….another miserable season in store for us last season repeated.

Thing is, gelhardt has still scored more than our 2 main strikers put together. Come on cookie! You know what to do.

Did anyone bring up the away form at the forum by any chance?

Whelan’s history of sacking managers wasn’t always a good thing.

Very true!

I don’t think we would improve it that much. Be 1 or 2 wins and we end up 12th-15th. We’re not a season long top half side IMHO

Yes! I agree! We are nowhere near a promotion chasing team by any stretch of the imagination. I was referring to “at this particular stage of the season.” Had we won a couple of games away we would be a lot higher & folks might be slightly happier.

Have you posted a similar thread elsewhere by any chance? To repeat what I said on that same site (if it is what I think it is). I like cook. But I agree with you with his decisions on substitutes. Shocking & baffling at times.

We are beating most sides at home cupwinners so the pressure doesn’t seem to bother the lads too much ;)

Forgetting last night for a moment we clearly have a mental block away from home. The number of mistakes we make away that we don’t make at home and stupid goals we give away is ridiculous. I’m not sure how much of that is down to Cook or his tactics. Tactics don’t make you make mistakes.

Last night I thought we were excellent in most parts and was happy with a point and more importantly a clean sheet and then BANG. Great goal that you can’t blame on anyone but with our away record you feel extra p***** off especially given the chances we missed. Maybe the pressure of finding a win gets to the players in front of goal.

I agree about Moore. He wins practically every header but heads it to nobody. I was hoping that Jamal Lowe with his pace would be the perfect backup for him but he looks League One at best with his finishing which goes back to what I’ve said before. We sign League One players we HOPE can step up. Whether it’s wins at home only or a mix of both I think we are a bottom half Championship side at best that will flirt with relegation.

If only we could improve the away form, we’d be flirting around the top half – playoff positions. Not relegation!!

I can think of a lot more worse expressions than fed up!!

Quite happy to take a point last night, then bang. Sucker punch in injury time. From what I’ve read, we had chances to score but didnt take them. Im not defending cook in anyway here. But in some respects, you cant blame him for his players not taking their chances when they come.

Where are the responses from mr brownbill & cupwinners? Oh yes! We won! So they dont usually post after a win.

Unlike yourself I have a life so I visit when I can not like 24/7 stalker Stu and the Happy Clappy Crew who would probably clapped and cheered us off against Canvey Island.
You dont seem to have much of a life though when we lose TBF!
It’s not losing that fooks most off it’s how. If you lose battling giving 100% and giving others a chance then I’ve no complaints I will praise even in defeat.

Some of those away losses over the past 18 month yes 18 month were border lining on on white flag embarrassing.

Now if your happy to smile through it while happy clapping with your “chin up ey, ney mind, up’t Tics” attitude then fill your boots.
We are 6th in the home form League and rock bottom in the away form. 2 away wins from 6 would put us up near the playoffs.
I’ll moan my fookin harse off till away form improves and we show some bullux when playing away and praise us when we win or even lose fighting.
Grow some conkers and have an opinion fella
TBF, I wholeheartedly agree with your first paragraph. I get pi55ed off after a defeat. I really do. But it’s not that I’m a happy clapper. I just get over a defeat & move on – that’s all.

But that’s the problem, we’ve a side with lots of grafters, workers, putting a shift in but we don’t have a Powell Maloney, Gomez, N’Zogbia, Moses type player. Someone who can change a game with one bit of magic. This type of player might not work his sack off but they offer a different quality.
The hard work will get you so far but that bit of quality will take you that step further.
For me it’s the missing piece to the jigsaw. Also, I thought the midfield looked more compact without Morsey.

I agree. We also seem to have a few players who can all play the same role but none of them are outstanding at it.

The way he played when he came on on Sunday I’d be tempted to play Naismith in that “number 10” role if Windass isn’t fully fit yet.
I think we have a number of people who can play that role. Lowe, Pilkington, Evan’s?? Personally, I like windass there & prefer him in all honesty to Powell. I would like cook to give Gelhardt a game or 2 in the “10” role. But sadly, I cant see that happening.

2 – 1 Tics

Lets see us maintain this momentum and sort out the away shite.

I sincerely hope we do. Just checked the table this morning. If we could improve on the away form, we could quite easily be in the play-offs- certainly top half.
