This is a fantastic opportunity for some of the lads to show what they can do.
If Kone is to take permanent residence up on the right side it would be nice to see Boselli get a goal tonight and let Franco know he is ready and waiting to take his chances as they come.
Miyachi and Mcmanaman will hopefully start either side with both of them having relatively succesful half loan spells last season it would be nice to see them taking well to the formation and putting in solid performances.
The Midfield engine room I imagine will welcome young Fyvie for the first time and I’m sure everyone is as excited as me to see how our latest Scottish prodigy does but not sure who will play along side him.
Hopefully Beausajor can get some game time under his belt at LWB and provide some of the ammo for Mauro although it could possibly be Jones taking up this position.
I would imagine Stam at RWB but he does not seem the most favourable man in the squad these days.
The three CB’s could be any combination but I imagine it will likely feature Golobart and Lopez at some point.
With the way he played last week I would like to see Prince Ali out there on his own but there could possibly be a place for our current longest serving player and resident party boy Mr Pollit.
All in all im looking forward to seeing them all in action and im not really arsed if we stay in or go out but I would like to see an indication that these players will be ready should the opportunity come their way.
Going off my own asumption of players Crusat could be struggling to take part this season which is a shame really as I think he has alot to offer but obviously comes up trumps against the physical nature of the PL.
Football will never catch on , its a small boating town.

Still 7.65M for a player with 1 season left on his contract is a good bit of business.
I would rather have him in the squad than not as Miyachi is still unproven but perhaps Crusat will find some good form now Moses is out of the picture?
Diouf has to be up there with the most hated players by me. Spitting at Arry while he was at Bolton (of all clubs). Despite Arry being at Portsmouth he is still a fan favourite. All credit to Bolton for dealing with it well and punishing him to the maximum allowed. Not like Liverpool with the Suarez incident.Absolute scum that man.
Was an interview with Arry not long ago where he said “Everyone was saying how great I was for not reacting when he did it but in all fairness I offered him outside after the game but he wouldnt come out of the dressing room…”
What about the Norwegian midfielder we took on (can’t remember if it was a loan) who Gamst-Pedersen tried to pursuade to join Blackburn instead of Latics.
I seem to recall he made one appearance against Chelsea and did a back pass from the half way line to Pollit, which was intercepted by a chelsea player who scored.
I don’t think he made another appearance.

Keeping to the Scandinavian theme, there was also Andreas Granqvist.Kristofer Haested?
Andreas Granqvist has apparently gone on to become a really good defender.
I think Newcastle were linked with him recently…
Didnt exactly shine for us under Chris Hutchings but then again who did :(

I for one would have liked to have seen how he’d have fared since we switched to 3-4-3. Yesterday we put a hell of a lot of crosses into the box that Di Santo wasn’t latching onto.
Kone with his power seemed to have a lot more success, so I would have liked to have given him that chance.

Was he so forgetable that no one mentions our swedish wonder boy, Andreas Johansson? Apart from his abilty to control the ball with his chest, I marvelled at every occasion I saw him. How did anyone think he was up to it?
I have to concede that he did actaully score some goals, which differentiates him from some of the aforementioned gentlemen. But utterly crap!I thought about him but remembered when he got played as a lone striker due to injuries and scored.
Makes him more succesful than the majority of strikers bought over the PL years.
When he joined the club didnt he come on as a sub once and then get nowhere near the team for almost a year?
Bit strange considering he was hyped up by alot to be a very good signing, maybe there was a story behind it…
1) Jason Koumas – paid too much for him, but I really liked him. Was a bit of a let down but I still liked the man!Think your on your own there mate, Never signed for another club after he left us and would think that he has give up by now.
He did start training with Sheffield Wednesday in April and they obviously have some cash backing them but I dont think anything came of it.
IMO he had talent but was a lazy fecker who thought he was alot better than he was.
Out of that list…..Agahowa-Last heard of, was playing for Kayserispor in Turkey. What did we waste on him? 5 million was it?
Bouaouzan ( never made an appearance? )-Did he not play a L/cup game?
De Ridder-Spent more time flicking his locks, than on the ball.
Connolly-A bit harsh on him. Scored a cracker on his debut.
Folan-I think we could’ve developed him further. Better than Sammon?
Krapo-Useless signing. What was the point?
King-Made up when we signed him. Had too much going on OFF the pitch.
Scotland-2 paces short of being a Premiership player. Caught on ball too much before he could shoot.
Webster-A stupid signing. One of convenience, as Rangers wouldn’t sell direct to Hearts, or vice versa. Allegedly. We were merely the pawn.
Been alot of dross over the years tbh along with the absolute gems we have had the pleasure of watching..
Here is a cost comparison for those players.

Before any of them joined the Latics Thomas was widely thought of as the most talented player out of Himself, Figs and Palacios also being being captain of the Honduras national team.
While the latter two went on to play regularly for their respective teams I dont think Thomas ever really got the chance to do well under Roberto.
I always saw him as an engine room holding midfielder in a standard 4-4-2 and would probably do a good job for the likes of Bruce.[/quote]

He went on to start the next three matches but found the switch to the English Premier League difficult. His time with Wigan was short-lived and, after just four appearances, he was deemed surplus to requirements.
