I’ll be very disappointed if Ramis is dropped.
I have high hopes for him and Kone this season.
Prince Ali! Mighty is he! Ali Al Habsi
Strong as ten regular men, definitely!
He faced the galloping hordes
A hundred bad guys with swords
Who sent those goons to their lords? Why, Prince AliFrom Aladdin.
You need to stay of the drugs Donners…
either way you took the time to reply, so who looks stupid now?Shucks ya sure shown me :pinch:
The postage must cost a bomb on that thing!
Never new Nani was called .. Luis Carlos Almedia Da Cunha.
I can see why he changed it roughly translating as Luis Carlos Almedia Of The Wedge.
You reckon changing it to Nani is an improvement then?[/quote]
Fair point.
and has bags of pace in itfrom where??? non of the back four have pace and cant see much in midfied either more especially when moses goes
not many positives for me we lost at home to a team that were at half pace from the 7th minute i can see a defeat next week as well
goodpost nice try.
a poor attempt at a windup or you can’t count?
either way you look stupid.
a centre half is in the team to defend not distribute he did not do his job imoThe balls not gunna get up there on its own is it sunshine!
Most half decent players will turn a defender like Hazard did to Ramis when the defender naively commits himself when all he had to do was stand his ground !In all fairness I think Hazard made that look very easy as he does with alot of his football.
And I dont think Ramis or anyone else for that matter was expecting Ivanovic to do his Usain Bolt impression…
So while he could of done better so could Figs for getting back quicker and Al Habsi for his very questionable positioning.
There are no escaping the first 2 goals , but over the other 80 minutes he had a decent game.
There was not enough of an attacking threat from Chelsea to make any judgements on his defensive abilities at this time but I thought his distribution of the ball was excellent.
Caldwell hit some good passes as well.
Last season showed that Latics got a rough deal as 43% of Yellow Cards and 100% of Red Cards were unjustly given.
You dont have to tell me that statistic twice!
Go on Tyldesley son its your moment to shine.

I’ve said previously would be sorry to see him go for the effort put in but are you serious about him getting onto headers?
Without a doubt the worst part of his game during his time here was his non existent aerial ability.
It was well documented by a former coach as well when he signed for us.
But I agree I would like to see Kone get on the end of them.
Apart from the first 7 minutes, we matched the European Champions. If we play like the final 38 or so minutes of the game for most of the season, I think we will be in for a very exciting time.Let’s look at the points from the game….
RAMIS: Let’s not tear him apart and rip into him. The lad was playing his first Premeirship match. The one thing we could not replicate in Pre Season, in any way shape or form, is the pace of the Premiership. In the space of the first 7 minutes he got done twice for pace, which resulted in the first goal and then conceeding the penalty. Ramis learned a very harsh lesson. But apart from that, I though he looked solid, and very good on the ball. As I say, let’s not start getting on the lads back, please.
THE OTHER 38 MINUTES: We looked very positive. We played some very neat football, and there wasn’t a lot between the two sides. The two James’ in midfield were busy and industrious. Moses showed glimpses of why Chelsea will probably sign him shortly. Di Santo looked busy, but was quite well shut out by Terry and Luiz. If he had scored that chance in the first half, we may have clawed a draw out of the game. I like Figueroa at wing-back as well. Maloney was very busy. When Gomez came on, he was abused before he’d even touched the ball! (as per) I have to say, that overhead kick he attempted late on was magnificent athleticism. Very unlucky. Alcaraz was superb, as was Caldwell.
KONE: In the short time he was on he showed some very good touches and went close with that header. I think he will definitely be a great signing for us.
OVERALL: Let’s not be too critical and look upon it as very positive how we played for most of the game. If we play like that for the rest of the season, we will not be in a relegation fight. And let’s put it into perspective, we got beat 2-0 by the European champions with two goals that were of our own fault and making. QPR got done 5-0 at home by Swansea and Norwich got done 5-0 at Fulham. And the ‘mighty’ Liverpool got done 3-0 at West Brom.
Today was hardly a disasterous result. Play like that against most teams, and we will get something out of the game.
Good post ABL goodpost

Paul Merson thinks we are okay?
Why does that frighten me….
