• in reply to: boselli & di santo #90489
I remember the stumbling block on bosellis first time around being the fact that he was unable to play in the lone striker role as has been mentioned on here previously. However, as we now play with 2 strikers with maloney just behind, i can see boselli chipping in with a few goals & di santo notching up a few himself also as di santo can be the “holding” forward laying it off to his fellow striker. I can see this working.

WE NEVER PLAYED WITH 1 STRIKER UP FRONT!!!

I dont mean to take this out on you Runcorn but I am sick to death of people saying that! its ignorant and stupid on so many levels and no matter how stubborn certain people are about it it does not change the FACT that we have always primarily played with a front line consisting of 3 forwards.

But in reply to your post Boselli will take over Sammon’s role either coming on as a late sub for Di Santo or playing alongside him if we switch to a 4-4-2 I would imagine….

If we play like we did in the latter of last season I have no doubt Boselli will score goals. If he will get the nod ahead of Di Santo I am not sure….

Two young Spanish lads Eduard Campabadal and Guillermo. Campabadal is a defender who has skippered Barcelona under 19`s, he also has international caps at under 16 and under 17 levels. The 19 year old is a right footed centre back

Guillermo is also 19 and plays as a striker, both players are set to be part of this seasons Wigan Athletic Development Squad

Have I beaten Donnelly to the cut and paste?

    You have! Well done sir!

Your prize is the right to post up a picture of yourself and your missus for everyone elses amusement…

in reply to: Whelan on Moses #90391

I rarely say a bad word against Whelan but calling one of your star players thick coming into a new season that you would like to sign an extension is not the smartest of moves.

He’s not calling him thick outright. If he stays then he has brains.

If he goes, and hence ceases to be one of ours, then Whelan is saying he doesn’t have brains.
I understand that… I know how these things work mate and so should Whelan.

What i’m getting at is after I read it on here the top story on newsnow was “Whelan tells no brains Moses to stay put”…

There is the chance that might make Victor feel a bit sheepish…

IMO Whelan has earned the right to say what he wants when he wants about all Wigan Athletic related things I just think he could be a bit more tact in his wording e.g. He hit a new level under Roberto in the latter half of last season. If he plays a full season like that he will have his pick of top clubs in the world.

But then again I dont know what has happened with the negotiations maybe they have totally broke down and this is a last attempt to make him rethink.

So with our younger player Fyvie this would be 2 senior players from what Roberto was saying previously…?

I’m sorry but things just dont run that smooth for us.

I will reserve my joy for when you have something substantial to copy and paste over.

Once again, you are so BUTCH :cheer:

How old are you pappy if you dont mind me askin fella?

in reply to: Fraser Fyvie signs #90357

3 year deal according to sky sports! :)

Sorry to dampen the spirits with this one, but he is a very poor player at a poor team. Unless he undergoes some sort of Steve Austin therapy, if he get close to the bench before 2015 we will be in a poor way.
Funny how opinions differ…

    “milne_afc

If I had the chance to play for the Dons at his age, I wouldn’t be leaving to play for the likes of Wigan or Fulham.” :S :S :S :S

I think the general opinion of him on that board is he had good potential but had a bad attitude combined with below par performances last season…

Keeping in mind they werent too happy with performacnes last season from the whole team and manager and he was apparently playing out of position coming back from a serious injury then I will reserve my judgment for when he plays safe in the knowledge we recently have had a good success rate on our signings north of the border.

in reply to: rodallega demands #90238

The nicest think I could probably say about Rodallega at this time is I would have liked to have kept him over Sammon.

However saying that I would rather have Neil Roberts than the pair of them.

We never played a 4-5-1 it was blatantly a 4-3-3…

    Albert Adomah

He was going to join Blackpool from Barnet 3 years ago only for it to fall through at the last minute…

He turned down a new contract from Barnet to push through a move to Bristol City on the advice from his agent…….. TONY F3CKINGGG FINNIGAN!!!

in reply to: Only 3 too add! #90108

    He does say “at least”.

This could be on the basis we have Marco Pappa coming once the MLS season ends and that Boselli is to return to the fold…

LMB will be sat in a corner somewhere with tin foil on his head too worried to turn his PC on because the government are conspiring against him with his ISP to stop him getting on cockneylatic and fishing tackle websites

    G’day mate

Adding on from what Standish said about televised games Sky do a thing called football first where from about 9:30pm onwards you can watch extended highlights (bout 60 minutes long) of any game that day.

In all fairness Filan always looked like he was carrying a few more pounds than the usual professional athlete but what a fantastic keeper he was for us!

He is a GK coach for Sydney FC now and from memory he always intended to return to Australia sooner rather than later as he didn’t want to raise his kids in England (cant blame him).

Make sure you bring some of that sunshine over with you pal.

in reply to: TV schedule #90019

ESPN is rubbish for football the only reason it is still on my subscription is for the UFC.

TBH I would probably get rid of the lot if it was not for recording games on football first.

Watching some of our latter wins again and again last season was very enjoyable indeed.
