Thought he made 3 or 4 good saves myself.

“Another great save from the Wigan keeper on Pablo’s free kick. But for him it would be 0-4”
“ok missed the incident as we were switching streams..we have a proper one now and that was a top save from Hernandez FK”
“Their keeper has saved three certain goals today, great save again from Harrison”

It seems that Leeds fans are more appreciative of our keeper’s skill than we are

They have to arrest this shocking start.

One win, two defeats, including one to a team that is most people’s favourite to go up?

If its right he is from Huddersfield, I sincerely hope the club kick up a fuss about it…a bloody massive fuss, because thats dodgy in the extreme.

Just because he’s from a neighbouring town doesn’t mean that he would favour Leeds.
Huddersfield and Leeds are rivals: would you expect a ref from Preston or Bolton to favour us?
He was just out of his depth, and lost the plot. Nothing more sinister.

I’m sorry but I don’t agree. It was unfortunate that Williams got sent off but two yellow cards is two yellow cards and if the second is right in front of him, what can he do?
The ref could have given penalties at both ends and booked more players on both teams, Morsy escaped two very reckless challenges without a card. I didn’t think the ref favoured either team.

Its a shame a very good competitive game was spoiled for us on 20 minutes, but that wasn’t the refs fault, Williams shouldn’t have reacted to get sent off.

            I agree with you.
Yes, he was a poor ref who lost control of the game. But you are right that I thought Morsy could easily have gone too.
The ref was bad for both teams tbh and you know things are bad when both sets of fans boo you.
My big concern is that we didn’t have possession, didn’t press, and were rather toothless.
The ref was poor, but that didn’t lose us the game.

              Don’t do that, LL.
You only need to get 1 point in 1 game to do better than me :)

If the ball hits the referee since when was it a drop ball?? Confused.

                        I was in the tunnel.
We helped co-ordinate the logistics of the memorial which consisted of the silence and laying of wreaths with representatives of both sets of supporters. There were groups of Stoke AND Wigan supporters.
The silence in the ground was beautifully observed by both sets of fans with some noise (as always happens) from outside the ground by people who don’t know what’s going on (in fact as said from the North Stand, but wherever is irrelevant, inside the ground by people who knew what was going on observed it perfectly).
Both sets of representatives came off with due respect, and the game started.
After a while, so not at all connected with the silence, a group of Stoke supporters in the West Stand made themselves known with songs and chants.
A senior steward colleague made an incredibly poor judgement to escort them down the West Stand steps and across the front, instead of as he should have done down onto the concourse and outside and across outside the back of the stand and let them in by the corner gate.
The Stoke fans started up as they were led down the West Stand and the Stoke fans in the North Stand responded with Delilah.
And at that point all hell broke loose.
Nothing whatsoever to do with Stanley Matthews.
But hey. Let’s not let facts get in the way of a perverted and prejudiced and blinkered view.
I was actualy there at the heart of it.

When have you ever been put down for “having an opinion” to such an extent that you didn’t post?
Can you name any poster who felt that way so much that they no longer post as a result. Someone who was so hurt by having their “opinion” challenged (which is what happens on football forums) that they went away sobbing that people didn’t agree with them. Or maybe people just thought sod it. I know I’ve often thought that.
This whole thread is about Griff et al (and I know for a fact he doesn’t need me to make the point). Surely he is then actually someone who has been put off posting here for whatever reason.

                              Very very poor performance.
With such exciting signings not at all the team selection we were expecting. I know new players need some time to bed in, but to pick same old same old was rather negative.
None of those on the pitch seemed to show any urgancy or desire, compared to PNE who were up for it.
Slow build up from the back with players seemingly unable to deal with the concept of turning.
Very very little won in midfield and certainly no second balls.
We need to have a lot more practice at receiving the ball and turning, or even heaven forbid reciving the ball side on and moving forward. Too much sideways, back, back ….
Defence pulled apart by simple passing movements that made NE look like Brazil when in fact they were rather poor themselves.
Keeper I’m afraid looks more dodgy than we’ve become used to, flapping a lot. No wonder he plays for Scotland.
Jacobs lost. Byrne way off his best. Robinson fast into space but no end product.
To be fair their keeper had a good game, and made a few good stops from the few rare shots on target.
Not many positives today except that hopefully, having an extra squad there, we can field a completely different 11 next week.
In true Roberto style also “we lost 4-0 last season, today was only 3-0”
I have always tried to support managers until the cause is lost (qv Joyce) but Cook does seem to lose his nerve about drafting in new players and trying something new.
Now is exactly the time he can get away with that.
If he’d brought in the new boys and we’d lost 3-0 we would have analysed who didn’t quite fit in, who needs to up their game.
By sticking to same old same old he has cast the critiicism on himself.
These are players we know. Why keep picking them?
