Yep. I’m going out Wednesday and back on Sunday.
They have up to 7 days to return them if not sold:
“14.06 Visiting clubs which have requested an allocation of tickets for the whole or part of the segregated area may return any unused tickets to the home club
without payment up to seven days prior to the match, unless otherwise agreed by the two clubs in writing. After this deadline the visiting club must pay for the
whole allocation, irrespective of whether all the tickets have been sold.”So that means by Thursday, unless a separate arrangement has been made.
I suppose though the latter is possible here, as it looks like we have been given the area behind the goal, (similarly to our North Stand) maybe it would make no difference to Waregem if we don’t sell them. Their supporters (who remember have to travel for this match too) probably won’t take up the excess.
Hi Jayt, I certainly wouldn’t bother applying if I was you, not that you intended to do anyway, but there needs to be a clear, precise, accurate flow of information between supporters and the club. That would mean checking any written information 3 and 4 times to make sure you hadn’t put “upporter” instead of “supporter” in the subject matter. B) :P[/quote]
Where? ;) :P
Don’t see why not. Let’s get the photos taken first and we’ll see what we get.
Jealous of all of you. :(Just been pricing up all the various alternatives but having been to Wembley twice, Cyprus and Kefalonia this year we can’t justify another outlay.
Yeovil it is for us then !!!!! ;)
I hope you all have a great time. :)
We will, Argus, and we’ll give them a shout for you and anyone else who can’t go.
As said, we all have our limitations of cost, time, family commitments that mean we can’t all go to all the games we’d like to. TBH I may be pushing my luck to go to Yeovil (won’t stop me trying.
But – we have three, yes THREE, European nights to enjoy at the DW. I never thought I’d see that.
I have a feel that this one will be quite popular – first game in Europe, fairly close etc etc. Rubin will be a no-no for most, and I think that the 600+ tickets we have for Maribor, a long way t go and just before Xmas, will be fine. Those factors will make Waregem even more attractive.
However – as has been said on another thread – not everyone can afford either the money or perhaps more importantly the time to travel abroad for a couple of days.
Those of us that can go are privileged. We should NEVER use it in future to say “I went to Belgium – I’m a better supporter than you”. You may shake your heads now that how could anyone even think that – but I’ll bet in years to come it becomes a faux badge of perceived honour.
Saw a cheaper version of Owzat for sale in Waterworths in the Grand Arcade a few months back.
Meant to buy one. Far better than these computer games :)
Just seen this on the fixture list on official sitePLEASE NOTE THAT WIGAN ATHLETIC ADVISE SUPPORTERS NOT TO MAKE ANY TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS TO AWAY EUROPEAN GAMES UNTIL VENUES ARE CONFIRMED AND WHERE POSSIBLE TO TRAVEL WITH OFFICIAL TRAVEL PARTNERS
Yes – I saw that, but ultimately if we wait till the club organise something any chances of getting flights and hotels if we’re planning to stay longer go out of the window.
There are no indications that games will be anywhere other than so far suggested. Rule 12.10 of the Europa League regulations says:
In principle, a club must play all its matches in the competition at one and the
same ground. Matches may be played either at the ground of the home club
or at another ground in the same or another city within the territory of its
association, or, if so decided by the UEFA administration and/or the UEFA
disciplinary bodies, in the territory of another UEFA member association for
reasons of safety or as a result of a disciplinary measure. In principle, venues
are approved only if direct international flights and/or charter flights are able to land within an acceptable distance of the venue, in the country of the club
concerned. If the match is being played in another city or country, the venue is
subject to the approval of the UEFA administration. So – Waregem will play their games in Bruges because their ground isn’t up to standard, and there is no suggestion that Maribor will play anywhere other than their own stadium. After all, we’d be a bit p’ed off if we played in Manchester, wouldn’t we?
The only doubt maybe Rubin switching their game due to weather considerations, but again there is no suggestion of that.
As for the date, regulation 12.01 says
All matches are played according to the UEFA Match Calendar (see
Annex Ic). These dates are final and binding on all concerned, subject to the
provisions of paragraphs 12.07, 12.08 and 12.09. The following principles
apply to this competition:
a) UEFA Europa League matches are played on Thursdays (apart from the
final). Exceptions to this rule may be set by the UEFA administration.Again, exceptions are when there is another European tie within 50km, when fixtures home/away may be swapped, but we would have heard about that before now, I would suggest.
Having now seen the auction live I would suggest that it is akin to bear-baiting – but slightly crueler.
I particularly enjoyed the faux confident look on bidders’ faces when they tried to pretend that they had just pulled off the coup of the evening while you could clearly see in their eyes “I’ve just paid how much…!?”
I booked on the club coach on Sunday, and the woman taking the booking said I would receive the paperwork in a couple of days.
Nothing yet – anyone else received owt?
Yes I am :)
Oh – you didn’t mean me :(
Looks a good ‘un with a good eye for where the goal is
They get paid?
“We weren’t ourselves in the first half and we deserved to be behind.”
He broke the FA’s rule that no-one should ever say Wigan deserved anything and therefore he has brought the game into disrepute :cheer:
Oh well – you have been warned. ;)
