FB PM Griff.
Not exactly unexpected news – happened a few weeks back in effect.
And read further down as to why he will not return to England.
Tightening up on comments alround

The final of a minority sport played across the length of the M62 wont make most national papers. But I thought Latics were a world-wide household name after their premiership and FA Cup exploits.Even I thought that you’d get more than 3 months publicity in the press before you were not even considered important enough to wrap a bag of chips!
The New York Yankees are a worldwide name, but an ordinary run-of-the-mill game gets no publicity over here.
So why should a Latics game against Doncaster be reported there?
Nothing in the Los Angeles Times, Le Monde or the Sydney Herald either.I’m waiting for their colour supplements for Saturday’s final
Nothing in Bird Watching weekly either. You needed to follow their tweets.
I’m not sure who the gobshites are here; the lad that naively asked if there were any coaches going to Bournemouth on which he could have a drink or the people that smashed the nut with the sledgehammer by quoting laws, rules and regulations or the people that took it to extremes by comparing the situation by publicly declaring they had a rash or were going to do a bank job or whatever. What a load of rubbish.
Which do you think is more likely to cause problems:
The “lad” asking what coaches could you have a drink on, and me replying that you legally can’t. To which he could have replied “Oh, fair enough then. Thanks for the info”, and someone else PM’ing him with details.
Or people who posted “Or you could just sit on your hands and not get involved. I believe it is illegal to pay cash or receive cash for services rendered without informing HM Inland Revenue of the on goings (foreigners) but they’re part of the fabric of society – a bit like having a drink on a bus on the way to a footie match.”
I know which my money’s on.
Nothing on the Mirror’s website.
Most rely on agency reports, and if it’s a night match they can’t be bothered.
I am of the opinion when a Latics player has a poor performance that that demonstrates why they are playing for Wigan, rather than Barcelona.
Similarly, we have to ask the question why these referees are officiating in the Football League rather than the Premiership.
There may be/are bad decisions being made against us – but if we just go all out and score lots of goals it won’t matter, will it?
The other team time wasting is easily solved by us being ahead
http://www.wigantoday.net/news/local/latics-back-warriors-for-cup-success-1-5965882Nice to see the players backing the town’s rugby side in their quest for a unique double for the town.
Shame many of the contributors to this board cannot behave in the same manner.
Oh dear, mutty, you make it so easy.
Where on this thread had anyone said they are not backing the team for a unique double, as you put it?
The thread started with my highlighting that rugby, the sport, has hooliganism problems – a point which has been consistently denied by rugby fans.
And the thread has evolved into a discussion of attendances and ticket sales – a topic which again, you must admit, was done to death by the rugby “experts” in the Evening Post when we went to Wembley.
In so far as I can raise the slightest glimmer of interest in a dying sport, then I suppose I would favour the local team over someone else (I don’t even know who they’re playing – and I don’t really care).
But then so I would with a hockey tournament, cricket match or swimming gala.

Awful advert – but still remembered many years later.
I hate the modern ones that you can’t figure out what’s being advertised.
