In case there are any “newer posters” out there, can I remind all that only one “multi” identity at a time is deemed sporting ;)

23 February 2013 at 4:43 am in reply to: The SDW and LOTP “my Dad is bigger than yours” thread #103893oooooo – Mabel. Someone’s got her knickers in a right old twist hasnt she?Pray tell me what exactly is racist about my statement listing a few African & South American football players?
Now pick your teddy up and put it back in the pram – there’s a good boy….
What is racist is that you have chosen to identify a group of players negatively based purely on their ethnic background. Many many groups of players have as you put it dodgy agents and no loyalty. There is only one thing linking those you have listed besides Boselli who seems added as an afterthought.
In the meantime take a little break for 24 hours to consider whether this is the board for you, if you disagree with so much about Latics.
Thread now locked.
The Czechs certainly know how to drink. I remember being in a little bar just across from the stadium in Liege in 2000 for the Euro game Czech Republic v Denmark. The bar was full of Czechs, and the bar was charging 200 Belgian francs a bottle (about £5).
The Czechs refused to pay that, but just stayed in the bar, filling the place but not buying anything. There was a standoff for about 20 minutes until the landlady chalked the price of beer down to 100 BFr. The bar more than made up their money in the next hour :)

My sympathies if anyone knows the woman but today’s best article headline goes to “Woman dies of natural occurring illness”

Very sad – but I know this without Googling.
It’s “La donna e mobile” from Verdi’s Rigaletto.
 to know it
That could be correct as receipts rise year on year as admission costs increase
If it’s Everton, I’d like it to be 1980 all over again
I doubt we will take 20,000 though, like in 1980.
Everton’s biggest post war attendance for a game other than a Merseyside derby, it was, I believe.[/quote]
Not true that, I’m afraid Dave.
Everton v Wigan was 51,863.
Just a very quick look at a couple of games I went to at Goodison shows
Everton v Leeds 1969 – 53,253
Everton v Man U 1971 – 52,151
and I only went infrequently to Goodison. Remember too that in the 50s and 60s the capacity of Goodison was bigger too.them damn germans :evil:It’s more about that damn Frenchman :)
“Hymns and Arias” – it’s in English (as it would be for Swansea) but I agree always sounds very Welsh.
And we were sing-ing
