Go on Dave a clear out and a new start in the Championship may be more interesting than perenial relegation dogfights and need not cost the club anymore than being in the Premier League of Greed.
Oh I can just see the comments on here if he actually did that – “negativity”, “DW’s lost it”, “DW’s just out to line his pockets”.
It would be meltdown
Should this lad be with us now ?

I’ve not seen him play but if he is not better than Ghouri I suggest he stay’s in Scotland.[/quote]
I know all about the standards of Scottish football, but Golobart was voted Player of the Month by ICT fans for December. He’s obviously doing something right.
Sorry, Yosser, but if you read my post I said I think he does care – as does any manager. No manager wants to lose any game.
He sees it as an opportunity to give match time to fringe players, but he will be doing that in the belief that they can win.
As was said above – if he plays those players knowing that they will not be good enough to beat a team 2 divisions below us then why are we continuing to play their wages?
If the “reserve” team cant put up a decent match against the likes of Swindon then they shouldnt be in the squad.Precisely. They are members of a Premier League squad (the “reserves” are actually the “Development Squad”, mainly youngsters).
This is their chance to really show what they can do.
Marlon King was at Hull at the time, wasn’t he?
There may be something in the management regime that “allows or prevents” this sort of thing to happen – so it may well not have happened if he had stayed
I went school wi her.She seems to have got over it ;)
I can pretty well guarantee we will not play the “first team” – whatever that is.
When we met with Bob a month or two back he was asked about a Cup run and answered (according to my scribbled notes) that we will “take it as seriously as we can”. Bob will use the squad (players like Callum McManaman in particular) to give players playing time. He sees using the whole squad is a must to keep them match fit.
No manager goes out to lose any game – despite Blackburn’s pathetic attempt that they wanted to go out of the League Cup. I remember once casually saying to Paul Jewell, in the season we were flying high for promotion, before an LDV Vans game against Doncaster something on the lines that the result didn’t really matter. He nearly bit my head off.
The thing was we lost that game (with a reserve team) and people said that he didn’t care. Trust me – he did, and I suspect Bob will be the same. He will want to win, but he will also be wanting to give players opportunities to show what they can do.

Bullet points work fine :)
Somehow it will be our fault
can be seen by the attendances on a friday night to a rugby union game compared to a saturday afternoon premier league game.
Two points which make you, I’m afraid, look rather silly.
1. It’s rugby league, not rugby union, and
2. Have you actually looked at comparative attendances? No, I thought not.Thing is, I’m not sure it’s accurate – the triangle to the left may not be interfering with play. That’s the difficulty in the offside law.

And what a great offer – you can buy a 50p coin wrapped in plastic for just £2.99! ;)
I thought McManaman was going to come back as the new shining light?
I’ll add my two-penn’orth about this.
I’ve got a nasty attack of man flu at the moment (I know – terrible it is) so decided against going to the game yesterday and watched online. The best reliable stream I could get was with a Spanish commentary so I stuck with that.
The relevance of that trivia is that I watched it not surrounded by people leaping up giving their opinions, and not listening to commentators’ views. No matter what we may think of ourselves formulating opinions we are greatly influenced by others around us.
And I didn’t see an atrocious referee performance. Yes – on seeing the replays the free-kick leading to their goal didn’t appear correct – but it wasn’t so bizarre as some decicions we have seen. Even if we concede a free kick you have to say it was a well-taken goal.
We lost because we faff about in midfield. We were building all very pretty stuff, a joy to behold, in the first two thirds, but any nearer goal we go to pieces. We lost due to our own inability to score or to defend. If points were given for passes completed we would be in the Champions League. But they’re not and we aren’t.
Blame the referee as much as you like – I blame the players.
There’s only one stat that means anything: we put round bouncy thing in rectangular netty thing once. They did it four times.
Stats prove nothing.
You’ll be telling us next that attendances matter.
