Yeah, but be fair. Hull is the opposite side of the country, isn’t it? It’s a long long way when you’re used to games at St Helens, Warrington and Salford. Thank God that trip to Wrexham has now gone, but the Sat Nav will now have to be programmed with Widnes.

            Either way:

Attendances were for home leg on 10 January 12,181 with 1,562 from Arsenal.

At Highbury on 24 January attendance was 34,692 with 1,579 from Wigan.

So… we took more for the away leg than Arsenal brought to us.

(Stats from programme 8 April 2006 v Birmingham (first one from that season I could lay my hands on))

I’m getting confused now – are we talking about the game at the JJB or at Highbury?? :?

                Ronnie Stam not for loan:

                http://www.v-bal.nl/nieuws/66756/wigan-laat-ronnie-stam-niet-naar-psv-gaan.html
“PSV is on the look out for a right-back now that Manolev is without competition. The Eindhoven club went without success to Wigan Athletic looking for a loan deal for Ronnie Stam. The English club will only sell him or keep him.

The 27-year-old right back came a Summer ago from FC Twente to the Premier League. Last season Stam, a former player with NAC Breda, was in action 26 times.”

However, Bolton’s ground will be in use the night before when the Wanderers host Spanish side Levante in a friendly and with the Premier League season a week later, another ground had to be found.(Evening Post)

So, the RFL couldn’t even persuade Bolton to use their ground – Bolton’s priority? – a friendly with Levante, the night before.

Rather bland. A bit like the 1989 kit (as stated) or maybe hints of 1998.

Started at the club shop and after an hour and half id just about passed the West. Gave in and got my mate get them instead.

The queue when we got to cardiff was bigger!
It was yes. I was in it. However, seeing as we like to play ‘like for like’ on this board, the queue for the Arsenal semi wasn’t.
Arsenal was more expensive and further away and a game we wasnt expected to win! Unlike your game! :violin:
…and a midweek night game in London when (this may surprise you as a concept) many people work, so couldn’t make it.

Did you lot know pnethor aka phil miller supports the worriers?

Haven’t heard of him for years!!

As for rugby stadia (33years comment above), there are a few: Widnes and Warrington (and even Leigh), and of course Saints and Salford will soon have their own modern grounds. In other words all the local teams have good rugby grounds (that at most THEY lease out to football teams – Warrington did to Liverpool Reserves). There’s only one local team that has to play second-fiddle to football. :D

And just a final comment. “The further you make people travel, the less will travel”. For the Deity’s Sake! Except a jolly to Perpignan and a trip to London, ALL the rugby games are in easy travel. You’re not being asked to travel to Darlington on a Tuesday night exactly! I know we can’t talk, but to use that as an excuse is pathetic.

Big un you are right regarding someones worth however Moses better than Zog come on..Deluded..

Good luck Charles and thanks for last season..

Remember that Zog came to us under a cloud from Newcastle. We built his confidence up for him to be the player he has become.

Heskey was a laughing stock when he came. Chimbonda was unheard of. Same with Figueroa. Same with Rodallega. Same with Valencia. And so on.

We can develop others – I think Moses and Sammon are going to shine this year.

That’s it, Bicky keep it all in perspective and try not to blow it all out of proportion or anything like that…

The most embarrassing season for me was where I turned up to a game and I’d forgotten to put my trousers on.

Saying that, I may have dreamt it.

Sorry to tell you that wasn’t a dream.

That’s why you keep failing your CRB checks.

Sorry Griff. There’s an inquiry on this.

It appears you’ve claimed your prize before the post was published, so indicating a certain amount of “hacking” has clearly taken place.

In the circumstances therefore you have been disqualified, and therefore the second post wins.

                                  And that’s me. :D
