Clearing snow at this point, days away from the game, may mean the residue left will form ice. Snow (even a bit frozen) is easier to clear than a few centimetres of solid ice.
To be honest doing nothing for a day or so, particularly on car parks that aren’t being used at the moment, seems to me (but what do I know) to be 100% correct.
I’ll try again on this thread just like on a few others….
Clubs CAN NOT give free tickets for FA Cup games and no-one has ever promised they would.
“20. ADMISSION TO MATCHES – SALE OF TICKETS
(a) All persons including Season Ticket Holders must be charged admission to the ground,
enclosure and stands in all matches”“(c) Immediately after the draw is known, the two Clubs concerned must mutually agree the
prices of admission subject to the following conditions:
(i) Except where mutually agreed otherwise the minimum admission (except to children
and senior citizens) to matches shall be:
……..In the Third, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Round Proper: £15.00”It’s FA rules – nothing at all to do with Whelan.
How many more times…..?
(and tbh even if he had promised it then that is the weakest excuse I’ve ever heard for not supporting your team. I have no problem whatsoever if there was some other reason. Just be honest instead of “Whelan promised something so I’m taking me ball home….”)
I thought everyone knew Barbado’s – cracking little bar.
Smashing comments by Graeme Taylor during the United-Leeds match commentary on radio the other day.
Basically he was saying that Watford are in the trouble they’re in because they thought they were better and bigger than they actually are when they got in the Premier League, and started spending silly money that they haven’t got.
In familiar tones he was saying how Watford is only a small town of 80,000 and people there support bigger clubs – Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea etc. He now, with hinsight, wishes they’d been more careful and taken on things that they could have afforded.
He didn’t mention Wigan at all – but in my head I kept thinking how we actually were doing the things they should have.
And we are still in the Premier League without financial worries – while Watford are back down the leagues and in deep financial doodah.
Beckford has scored one goal against a prem side. Granted it’s one more than scotland but one goal does not make a season and as yet he is unproven at champ level.
Scotland actually scored a penalty against Portsmouth in the Third Round last year, and a goal in both the original tie and the replay against Fulham in the Fourth Round.
So in the “goals against Premier League teams” contest Scotland’s winning 3-1 :D
I don’t actually think if you ask on here you’ll get many original songs either.
If past experience is anything to go by then they’ll be rehashed United, Liverpool or whatever suggestions.
The best songs aren’t “pre-written”. They just happen.
Why would we even want to sign him?
Were low on strikers that score goals. Beckford has proven to me he can score 25+ goals in championship but Premiership, 10 goals a season or lower. Thats 10 more than Scotland will ever score in the Premiership
How on earth has he proven that? He doesn’t play in the Championship.
He’s scored 63 in 105 in the “Third Division.”
Scotland scored 45 in 90 in the Championship and 40 in 116 in Scotland high level. Just shows that statistics are worthless.
New Wigan Songs Needed
Why?
Well maybe if the club sells tickets at a fiver for season ticket holders there may be a decent crowd on !!I’ve just posted this on another thread – it’s nothing to do with the club:
FA minimum = £15.

In my opinion i thought the admission price was too high for a competion that is essentially treated as reserve fixtures by the PL clubs these days.
A more reasonable £10 for adults and a £2 for kids may have bumped up the attendance to 9 or 10,000 as it was the price worked out dearer than my east stand PREM season ticket (£13per match).
I wasnt surprised at the gate.FA minimum = £15.

Notts County’s fans not exactly doing cartwheels…Haven’t they got to win their Third Round tie yet before they can be disappointed?
I’m sure they scored right at the end of the match.88th minute. I forgot we had 2 sent off too.
The only thing about this Pompey thing is that they say “players and staff” have not been paid?
Does that mean the office staff, ticket staff, kit man etc?
If so, then that is disgraceful.
Altricham or Canvey Island
I think Alty was probably the worse. Canvey Island as I recall was still a bit of a surprise and they managed to hang on. Against Alty we just didn’t have a clue. Hmm…. where have I heard that before?
I seem to remember that the away end was so low down that you were looking almost a knee level to the players (the top of the pitch wall was at ground level) – or maybe my memory is playing tricks.
Remember going Altricham many moons back we beat them 2.nil .the one yer on about we were poor that day did we lose 2.nil
Lost 1-0 (it was 3 December 1994).
Our team that day was Farnworth; Strong(Benjamin), Jakub, Miller, Robertson, Farrell, Kilford, Carragher, Leonard, Rimmer, Lyons
