That’s just not true.
There are some people, good Latics supporters, who believe that sacking the manager is not the way to go.
We have to respect their opinion – it’s just as valid as yours or mine.I agree.
The signings were OK, maybe even good.
But they aren’t being utilised, deployed or motivated enough. And that is down to the manager, I’m afraid.
I’m usually “lightside” – but today was a step too far.No doubt he’ll reel off the excuses without having the balls to admit he’s got it wrong. I’m almost resigned to life in Div 1; so young Sharpie needs to act promptly, otherwise season ticket sales for next season will be non existent !
Joyce Out !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Listening to his post match interview on my way home up the m6 & 62. He blamed the players for playing poorly & being 2nd best to the ball.
The fact is they didn’t seem to know who should be going for the ball, and who should be backing up.
And that is down to the manager.Or we bought cheap spare parts from a dodgy dealer on eBay
Didn’t score a goal at home all of February ( a record ?) so why are they suddenly going to bash two in?Because that’s what happens sometimes in football.
Without the unexpected bookies would go out of business and we would never have won teh FA Cup.Kevin Lynch was a great character.
He’s still doing the cicuit of after dinner speeches etc, and published his autobiography a year or two back called ‘Lynch The Ref’. Its got to be worth a read.It is. Compared to Jeff Winter and Uriah Rennie who were arrogant t***ers, Lynchy was great fun.
Attachments:One of the best tales Kevin Lynch tells is of a game he was running the line on the far side where Sunderland as the away team were about to win promotion.
The crowd were massing on the touchline, and apparently the ref said to Lynchy “I’m going to blow soon, when I do run for it”.
A few moments later the referee blew and Lynchy legged it for the tunnel pursued by thousands of celebratory Mackems.
When he got back to the changing room the referee said “what did you do that for?”
“You told me to leg it when you blew the whistle”
“But I was only blowing for a free kick”
The only linesman to have led a pitch invasion.
A great character.
I remember him once (again to Dave Johnson’s chagrin) “conducting” the St Andrews terrace in singing “The referee’s a wanker”I was senior steward in the tunnel that night. We had to get between the two benches at one point when Jones and tone of their players got sent off. The thing was that I think he got most of the sending off decisions correct.
Holloway was calling for his team to try to get another sent off, but according to Lynch in his after dinner speeches he was determined that wouldn’t happen. So all sorts went on.
At the end I rushed on to the pitch, accompanied by a police women (unusual for police to be involved at all) and told Lynch that we’d wait for the tunnel to clear (rather than get him off quickly into the melee nto a narrow tunnel at SP). “Whatever you say” he replied – obviously shaken.
We got him off, and into his room, and I was told (by the late lamented Dave Johnson) to stand outside and let no-one in. The only one I did let in was the referee’s assessor who was there like a shot. Every 5 minutes for about half an hour though Holloway would come up and say “Oi’d just loik a word with the referee”. “I’m sorry, Mr Holloway, but I can’t let anyone in”, and to be fair to him he’d go away, to come back 5 minutes later with the same request.
One of my more exciting evenings :)Very sad news indeed
Whatever happened to Bruce?
Was talking about Bruce yesterday and came to the conclusion that the two current centre back are playing well enough not to be dropped.
His experience could be a good help though, maybe go three centre backs to get him in and use wing backs. Wouldn’t leave us so exposed then with just the two?
I understand that but he’s not even on the bench
I’m with Egg on this. Although I dislike the rugby (I wouldn’t go so far as to say hate), we cannot blame our s*** performances in any way on them or the pitch.
FFS we were away yesterday!!
Whatever happened to Bruce?
Sounds as though it was garbage

Apparently Yootha was on his way to Glasgow earlier this afternoon to watch Rangers.
No fans forum but can travel by train to Glasgow.
Is that where he is having his operation.
I doubt it, on Monday when the news broke that the fans forum had been cancelled it said Joyce had already had the op.
Read it for yourself!
No.
“However, following a routine medical examination this morning, he has been advised to undergo surgery immediately.” -
