Now, back to my question – When was the last time yesterdays attendance was surpassed? For a bonus point, who were the opponents?
The day Man Utd won the league?
That was the day the stadium record was achieved. Yesterdays attendance has been bettered more than once since then.
For the benefit of you and that t!t 35 whatever, who doesnt like answering questions that dont suit his personal agenda, the answer is 2011, when it was bettered twice.
The opponents in question were St Helens and St George Illawarra.
Ah. A trick question lol
23,891…….25,138 is the record attendance by WAFC…….pity our lodgers will have to wait ANOTHER 2 years to have a go at it
47747 is Wigan’s record home attendance. You seem to forget that the club actually have a HISTORY.
As do Wigan Athletic.

on 1,of 2, 72 seater exec coaches.
72 seats? On a coach? It’s defo not ‘exec’ if that’s the case!
You can get some quite nice exec ‘decker’ coaches these days. The upstairs are like a normal exec coach and then the downstairs has a few tables.
Need to win the next 2 tbh
Just a couple of quick questions for our fat friends who try to point score re attendances.1. Has your average attendance over a season matched that of the Latics over the last eight seasons?
If yes, state the season and the average attendance, please don’t count Cup Finals and Millennium Misery weekends were 8 teams always claim to have had 30,000 watching them.2. How many times since you moved into our ground have you topped 20,000 spectators for a league match?
I am not sure of the answer to question one, and I definitely don’t know the answer to the 2nd question.
I do however know how many times The Latics have topped 20,000 for a league match. The answer to the first one would be never other than when away averages are taken away.
The second one I would guess at 15 but will get back to you in a moment
EDIT – The answer is 19 including twice already this season in just 5 games.
Jealousy. Plain and simple.
Instead of admiring what we’ve achieved or supporting it as a fellow small club or trying to replicate it, the fans/owners are constantly trying to find excuses why they haven’t managed it.
We were criticised for buying our way to the PL but there were several clubs who spent more than us in the 2nd division and we only added 3 major players to that squad.
Don’t remember Pardew saying sorry when Demba Bar got booted in the face breaking his nose in Toon’s game against Chelsea. No penalty given no booking, nothing. And Demba Ba actually got injured as opposed to bruising his shin.
Exactly owd git. It’s straight out the Fergie book of coaching.
Never liked the guy and as I said at the time I’d have celebrated that winner right in his face as he did at the West Ham game in 2004.
De Ormskirk massive is on Coach 20 :PCracking avatar. I went mental when that went in. Well worth the £48 just to see the Swedish Chelsea fans at the side of us sit down with faces like thunder.
Only 1 writer from the mirror thinks we’ll go down

years ago in the week leading up to good friday, all the talk in town would have been about wurryers v saint helens……..NOWADAYS………it’s got to be the least talked about good friday game in recent memory. The only people iv’e heard mention it are 4 worryers fans in work (and 2 off them watch us)That’s strange. You’ve not shut up about it.
10 of us going by car on the Friday and coming back Sunday. 2 nights Travelodge in Watford. £67 per room10 IN A CAR????!!!!!!
To the Supporters Club Committee for tonight’s 2003 get together dinner. It was really well organised, the players were excellent with their reminisces/remaniscences/remenis… memories, and the fish and chips were delicious.
It was also great to have an audience who were in the main there before the PL, and who viewed winning the old Division 3 as success, rather than the current blinkered view by the new arrivals that just surviving in the PL is “not progress”.
Well done, Supporters Club Committee, take a bow.
Glad you had a good night
Will be our number 1 if we go down
