Interesting though that when the 2005-2010 business rates were calculated (based on 2003 income), there wasn’t a peep from the Laftics in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 when they received premiership income and paid 3rd division rates.
hmmm that was said on wigan today by yourself
anyhoo you or me for instance don’t know what is in that tenancy agreement but didn’t Eric Pollard said and I quote ” It is beneficial for WRLFC that Wigan Athletic stay in the Premier League ” I wonder what that meant Mutts
Being a landlord aint all its cracked up to be eh?
When a landlord receives an unexpected rise in expenditure then the landlord must up the rent of the establishment if the tenant can’t afford the rise in rent then the tenant may have to look for alternative accommodation
Wigan Athletic have signed Northern Ireland international striker Will Grigg from Brentford for an undisclosed fee.
The 24 year old has passed a medical at the DW Stadium and has put pen to paper on a three year deal with Latics, to the delight of manager Gary Caldwell.
“Will is the one we were after, he’s a a goalscorer, that’s what he does and why we’ve signed him,” he said, “there were other clubs in the chase, including from the Championship, but he’s chosen to come to and we are very happy about it.
“He’s a proven goalscorer at League One level, and had a superb season last year on loan with MK Dons so he knows this division and is a real quality addition.
“The squad is beginning to take shape now and there is a great atmosphere in the camp, the addition of Will and Craig Davies last week has added to that because these are players with a track record for scoring.”
Solihull born Grigg began his professional career at Walsall, having signed from non-league Stratford Town in the summer of 2008.
The striker made his debut in the first team by December 2008, and in a five year spell with the Saddlers, he scored 27 goals in 63 league starts and 99 league appearances in total.
In 2013, Grigg made his move away from the Banks’s Stadium to sign for Brentford, the fee being set by a tribunal.
He scored four in 16 starts for the Bees, but found first team football hard to come by, sparking a move to MK Dons last term.
Grigg shone in Sky Bet League One in 2014-15, scoring 20 goals in 31 starts for MK Dons, as well as grabbing a brace at the Stadium MK in their famous 4-0 victory against Manchester United in the Capital One Cup.
The striker becomes Gary Caldwell’s eighth summer signing alongside David Perkins, Richard O’Donnell, Craig Morgan, Donervon Daniels, Max Power, Sanmi Odelusi and Craig Davies.

As for your other question, as I said before, I neither know, nor care, who you are, as you are irrelevant to my life. Whether you are the president of the USA or some minimum wage security guard makes no difference to me.
“With season-card sales for the new campaign reported to be ‘very healthy’,”I don’t know what constitutes “healthy”, but the number of green dots on
https://www.eticketing.co.uk/wiganathletic/details/event.aspx?itemref=3020
suggests that there are well over 80% of all seats still available – and that’s after taking into consideration all those rows & blocks that are being closed off for this season.
the obsession continues
The average attendance won’t be more than 8000 so that season ticket story is bollocks!
Of course its bollocks – 35yrs was the source!
Anyway, looks like this mon wont be renewing for reasons other than the on-field performances:

If we can sell six thousand seats in advance then our average gate will be at least 6k plus with the matchday ticket sales.
About 1200 seats sold so far, so quite a way to go.
If that figure is correct could we possibly be looking at crowds of in the region of 4,000? Surely that many can’t jump ship at once?
Has the sad sack actually counted every seat in the stadium I wouldn’t put it past it
They are not skint. The TV income pretty much covers the salary cap, then you have the income from sponsorship, merchandise and ticket sales which will more than cover the salaries for the remaining staff and rent for using DWs stadium. Then of course there is the money that has come in from selling players (Hansen, Hock) and sometimes getting them back for way less (Tomkins x2, Mossop).
That said, it is a grand gesture by Mr Whelan, and its a shame that 35 hasn’t included the text from the whole article, choosing to gloss over the positive bits and instead copying and pasting the comments from a poster with multiple identities on that site who has just about united everyone in their utter contempt for him. Even his “son” has posted telling him to grow up, get out of his pyjamas and stop spending every minute of every day on the site trolling.
For anyone interested in the whole article, it is here:
