Some of you simply love Martinez. Like I love angelina jolie.Indeed love eternal for our Bobby thank you for the FA Cup Bobby move on and proper young man
aye it’s a pity he won the FA Cup something no other Wigan Manager has ever done isn’t it or probably ever will in our life times thank you Roberto move on and prosper
Uwe Rosler – just you wait and see.
This coming from the person who was convinced RM would stay ! ;)
He’s German fill ya should be pullin ya pud if we get him
with better cover in defence and attack
You do realise how many defenders were injured at one stage last season we had Watson playing CB things were that desperate which resulted in bringing back Scharner to help out as for attack we scored more goals than the previous three seasons it was the defensive injury crisis that cost us most games I would like to see a stat that shows how many differant combinations were used during last season
You are right one fan in particular couldn’t wait to hurl the abuse not been on this site for 6 months lording it with baz on vital
You would know exactly where I had been seeing you trolled me and made regular lord haw haw/tokyo rose type updates on here, but sorry to burst your bubble I was here watching all along, and on thing I have the courage of my convictions to post under ONE name on both boards and have never chosen to hide as a multi like you.
Paranoia is a bad thing lmb tut tut
I don’t think that DW would ask him back considering he has just gained promotion to the Prem any how the fact is Bobster has won the FA Cup and Bruce didn’t any congrats from yourself for that feat ?
Martinez will have my eternal gratitude for the amazing feat he achieved by winning the FA cup for us, something we had no right to even dream about, but I also thank previous highs that both paul jewell and bruce gave us.
I was not a big fan of jewells attitude to the fans and was not sorry to see him leave, I was disappointed to see bruce leave and agree it left a sour taste in the mouth over the circumstances.
Because of the relegation I feel that martinez has betrayed the faith the fans bestowed on him, despite what the ‘lightside’ claim/believe he was given an easy ride off WAFC fans over his four seasons, and he has not even tried to repay some of that faith by using his perceived ability to regain premier league status.
Thankyou
much of it was dull, boring mistake ridden dross far worse than anything seen under bruce
Who made the mistakes? It wasn’t Martinez, it was the players! Martinez didn’t send them out to play mistake ridden dross. Bruce did instruct them to play his way.
Yes, if Martinez had bought better players and paid higher wages, he might have achieved better results. And last season, a bigger squad would have been useful too.
Some fans, I think, have been waiting to attack Martinez. The FA Cup run got in their way, but now they are seizing their opportunity. It’s a shame they can’t show just a little gratitude – or even say nothing at all.
How do they give a false impression? The only way Martinez got himself a transfer kitty was by first selling some of his squad.
Yes, Bosselli was a mistake (as were Marlon King £4m, Jason Koumas £5.3m, Julius Aghahowa £2.5m, David Connolly £2m etc signed by previous managers)
I’m not disputing who signed who. I’m outlining the fact that Martinez had less budget than his predecessors.
The quote the article the figures are taken from:
‘To quickly summarize the activity of the three, Paul Jewell entered the Premier League with a small squad on low wages. He was able to invest substantially in both transfer fees and wages. Steve Bruce, while given a larger net spend, had liberty to increase the wage bill. Roberto Martinez has presided over the lowest net spend as well as a shrinking wage budget while also expanding the squad.’
Judging on last years F.A Cup performances, This squad is easily good enough to walk The Championship. It’s time we looked forward. Balls to Judas.
Correct onwards and upwards

The only treacherous thing Bruce did really was give me a crick with his dull brand of football.
Amazing these football related complaints, I seem to have developed a permanent stoop watching our goal keepers picking the ball out of the back of the net under martinez.
9 times in 1 game
8 times in 1 game
6 times in 1 game
5 times in 3 separate games
4 times in 12 games
3 times on a whopping 18 separate occasions.I must admit that those games were certainly not dull.
The very fact that Bobby managed to bounce back after those awful defeats shows what a good manager he his wouldn’t you say after the 9-1 drubbing at White hart lane we have won twice in that stadium beaten Chelsea and Man Utd plus Liverpool along the way chuck in the odd FA CUP FINAL win and he’s not done to bad as the Bobster
I know you have always had great difficulty reading what is in front of you, so I will explain it to you again.
Yes “bobster” did do well at times, but the whole point of what I am saying is bruce is not half as bad as some on here claim and martinez is not as good as many believe.
But your darling Brucie baby won feck all for this club Bobster did I know you find it hard to congratulate the Bobster but your darling Brucie shat on this club twice

Unbelievable comments above from the torch many of the older fans would never of dreamed we would of got into Europe after the dodgy nineties ere stay on for the ride Torch you may never see it again .Wembley three times in one year European nights at the DW cant wait
You are obviously too new to the forum to know the history re my German loyalties !
Says the bloke who hadn`t even started supporting Wigan Athletic when this forum first went online
Take a bow
I thought I was having a conversation with Salford ! Mind you, going off your post trends I could still be having a conversation with him/you ! ;)
Getting paranoid now phyllis thought you had stopped smoking the dreaded weed
Come on boys and girls Bobby did is best to pull a good team together under financial constraints that no other premier league team had. OK he got us relegated but leaves us with a legacy that includes;
1) We have won a major trophy.
2) We have shown on many occasions that we can beat all the top four teams.
3) The good people of Wigan will support their football team if they play the right way, even though they are in a relegation fight.
Thanks for the memories bobby, if you do go to Everton though I hope you get relegated! B)
if you look at it on the whole we won 38 Prem games out of a possible 152 matches. So in theory I’ve watched us not win for 3 seasons…
that make sense ??.
You do know which team you support, don’t you? It’s not Bayern Munich, we are expected to lose more than we win.
I support Bayern Munich ! ;)
Quite. You certainly don’t support Wigan Athletic.
Well Wigan are my English team and seeing as I buy a season ticket every season ( Last 10 years ) I think that entitles me to be considered a supporter ! It’s been a multi trophy season for me ! :P
What entitles you to be considered a supporter of Bayern then?
