Gone quiet on the transfer front only really concretely heard about Di Santo. I would be happy if we signed him along with Tom cleverly on loan and I think we will have a decent squad.

      Stay away from Nugent!

I wouldn’t be suprised if Spurs came in for N’Zogbia.

I think it is a bad move for N’Zogbia. Birmingham are only going to make it difficult for him to leave when a big club eventually come looking whereas another year with us and he would have been able to move in the knowledge that we would let him leave.

Do you think we will replace him and spend the money?

N’Zogbia is quality in one on one situations and beating players, whereas Valencia tracks back and made goals for others. I would prefer to have Valencia just because we always looked more solid defensively when he played.

How many times have you seen N’Zogbia (on the right hand side) or Rodallega whip the ball into the box without firstly trying to take on a defender? It would be different to see a genuine right footed player on the right in Moses and N’Zogbia on the left with two strikers in the box.
I’m sure we will score more goals and see a decent strike partnership between Rodallega and Boselli.

I think we will be more dangerous with the ball and yet a team more difficult to break down.

                          Moses McCarthy Diame N’Zogbia
                          Boselli Rodallega

We have wingers who will play balls into the box and two strikers who can get on the end of the crosses. Our goals are never goals that have come from great movement or a killer pass. Usually it involves an individual peace of play.
Boselli looks like a player who likes to drop off whereas Hugo likes to get beyond the last man. Its a no brainer to me… Hey it can’t get much worse.

My big issue is that I think Bob plays with 5 in midfield so that when we lose the ball our wingers drop deeper with the 3 in midfield making us a more solid side. But the major downfall is Rodallega and N’Zogbia never drop back into the 5 man midfield and we are left with 3 who are over ran.
When we have the ball either 2 things happen. 1) when we get in an attacking position with Rodallega or N’Zobgia with the ball they only have Boselli to aim for. Generally, it is pointless getting the ball in the area because with 2 centre halves to deal with the ball is going to have to be special along with great movement from Boselli. 2) sometimes we over commit and we are left with the defensive midfielder and the back 4 with N’Zogbia and Rodallega not making the best effort to get back. This always leaves us open to the break. Maybe this system could work with players who would work more for the team up and down the flanks but with the players we have it simply doesn’t work.
I’m sure everyone has seen this and I agree a more solid system of 442 would give us more stability.

I don’t think that Roberto is out of his depth exactly but I think his reluctance to shift formations for different games is holding our team back. Against, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal the tactics where good but when we are at home and expected to win the game I think he has to play 2 strikers in a more typical 442.

I would stick with Kirkland as he is usually a reliable goalkeeper. He will want to make up for the mistakes against Blackpool and therefore would like to see him keep his place. Credit to Kirkland for coming out after the game and speaking to Latics player and you could clearly see he was hurting after the defeat.

I live in Leigh and there are a few dotted around here aswell. I just wonder if a campaign aimed at being proud of where you come from would work or even that Wigan needs its fans, I just don’t think it is stressed enough. My brother in law is an egg chaser and he says that the rugby fans have a thing about being an extra man so maybe something along those lines may work.
