Totally agree with Area51… there can be no comparison between a potential move between us and Villa and from Swansea to us.
I think loyalty will prevail and Bob will sign a new deal at Wigan. No harm for him speaking with Aston Villa and this could potentially allow us to have a better transfer window with Whelan having to show his loyalty again towards Martinez by backing him in the transfer market.
What has really got to me is the reality that Whelan is not likely to put up a fight and with his ‘blessing.’ If we would have gone down Whelan would have been loyal, now the table has turned and we stayed up Martinez has to show loyalty to Wigan.
Dave is on SSN this lunchtime and will hopefully announce Roberto has rejected Villa. Optimism with most tics fans I know is high for next season and it could be our best to date if Bob stays.
…that maybe but who would we appoint manager? I think there is much more to come from us under Martinez. Hopefully he will sign a new deal and give Dave a reason to splash some cash!
Heard this last night from my mate but didn’t believe him. Last night I convinced myself that Bob is a blue and won’t leave to join Aston Villa. However, I have come to the realisation that anything can happen. Really hope he stays and if he went really don’t now who we would bring in.
Adrian Durham… another clueless idiot. Regards Mackail-Smith I do not rate him at all, granted he scores goals at League 1 level many players have and not been able to do it in the Premier League. A few seasons back i’m sure he was behind a certain Aaron Mclean whos now at Hull who really hasn’t set the championship alight.
Would be happy if we only signed this fella and kept our current team together.
Renewed this morning, pleasant suprise I still fall with the under 21 category
:text-goodpost: … No doubt that the lucky 1400 will make some noise and bring our 7th year back with us. I’ve just had to admit to myself I am not going to get a ticket but will be at the DW.
There is nothing like being a Wiganer in adversity…always keep the faith!
I’ve emailed but haven’t received a response yet.
Ahh so now I have another target to be bitter against the police! To be fair I have seen Stoke have not sold out yet and it could have been a possibility to perhaps just increase our allocation slightly and move the Stoke fans down that standby 10 seats or so, but this would take time and abit of know how, which our club and the police seem to have little of.
Theres a few of us after them Geoff. Like Goldust unfortunately!… funny where the extra 600 come out who didn’t make it to Villa Park and even more from Sunderland.
As you can tell I’m not bitter.
Cheers buddy
If there’s 10’000 of us we are enough to do our club proud. There’s a big difference between a pie eater and the prawn sandwich brigade!
:text-goodpost: …my point is only that it would be good for people who ‘support’ the team to come out and get behind them!
Really winds me up when fellow tics fans don’t come out and get behind the team when they really need it!
Standish gotta love the one liner!
