You interpreted my post wrong, i meant when i was at the stadium at around 2 o’clock this afternoon, it looked as if nothing was being done.

Just read this off the website, well if they are doing everything in their power, they are doing a good job of not making it known.I had a walk down before and it was deserted, very unlikely i think the game will go ahead
Kapo likely to leave on thursday aswell. I think Martinez is doing a good job clearing some of the high paid flops we have at the club. Hope to see the back of De Ridder, Kingston and Koumas(although i think he could have been a good player for us, he just hasn’t justified the money paid for him).
Jamie O’Hara would be a good signing, but where do we play him? Im not sure he is an out and out winger, but i like Diame and Thomas in the centre of midfield, would he play in Scharners position then? There are some absolute clowns on here…Bobby Out, Whelan’s fault Graham Jones is rubbish as a number 2?
Are people forgetting something here? I bet the moaners on here would have got rid of Jewell after his disastrous first half of the season…..and where would we be now?
Give it time, a poor result on Saturday but not a poor performance for the first 60 mins. I quite like the style of play, good patient build-up but there are a few things missing…who on here would have thought everything would be miraculously in place when Martinez started?
I think we are doing OK, we have a manager who has passion for football but more importantly, has a passion for this great club. He has seen us from the grass roots of the league and I bet it is really hurting him (and Jonsey) when we get beat. That’s the feeling when you are on the way home and you don’t want to talk to anyone because you are so gutted (Mrs Cornflake hates it when we lose!). All in all, we are not too far off from where we were last season.
Anyway, my point is this. I personally think we are playing the best style of football ever. I think the 4-5-1 style is really good (I am a big 4-4-2 fan, but 4-4-2 is pretty static to watch in my (new) opinion). I think N’Zogbia is far more effective on the right than on the left, his shot in to the top corner proved that! I think Hugo is a bit wasted on the left and I would like to see Sinclair on the left (using Bob’s formation) or controversially, use Scotland on the left if he can use both feet.
There are some missing links which were very obvious on Saturday, especially after Brum scored their first:
A real leader:- I like Melchiot, but he doesn’t run around screaming at people and getting them to raise their game, we need a leader who can raise the lads heads when we go down or when we need a lift. Cattermole was really good at this last season.
Another central defender:- Again, I like Boyce/Bramble, but we need some brains at the back. Bramble is a good defender, but I get the feeling that someone needs to be commanding the back line more. Someone with pace as Bramble was left eating the mud of Benetez’s boots!
A creative player:- Sharner doesn’t fit well in the hole behind the striker. He doesn’t link the play from Diame and Thomas….this is why I think we can be a bit weak in midfield sometimes as Thomas and Diame must cover about 5000 miles a match. Someone needs to link the play, someone who can spot a run or play the killer pass…..Nobody in the team (apart from Koumas??) can do this. This is one of our main problems.
So, in essence, a minimum of three players are needed. I think by the end of this season, we will be in good shape providing Bob gets the players in that he wants.
Keep the faith, due to our recent form, we should be in for the win next week ;)
Finally a fan with a brain a cell! Only thing i disagree with is Sinclair to come into the side… i just don’t think hes good enough. In January i would like to see us buy a right or left sided midfielder( as i do think that N’zogbia is just good on the right and left), and then crack Hugo up top.
Heard alot of people asking for sinclair to play… and hes not good enough! Prime example look at the portsmouth game, ive only seen him play well once and that was at Villa
What a disgrace the fans are who led the game early it’s ridiculous, did u not see us boss a team for large parts of the game to concede 2 free kicks. You would have thought we had lost 9-1! Some of the opinions are just stupid, especially about nzogbia, you obviosuly wasn’t watching the same game as me. He scored cutting in from
the righ, tormented their defence from the right and was man of the match after playing down the RIGHT! You probably wouldn’t no about the man of the match because you where halfway home u die hard ‘fans’!!!
As regards bobby he is the man for the job and we have to get behind him, everyone who knows anything about football can see we have a top class manager. For all the fans who said the players are spineless look at yourselves, your the spineless ones leaving the game early!it will be the same as usual with Figueroa coming back into the side.
Kirkland
Mario Bramble Boyce Figeuroa
Thomas Diame
N’Zogbia Scharner Hugo
ScotlandIt is a freak result and frankly the reaction against bob isn’t fair. Someone commented about saying when we went 2 nil down it was about not losing players I’m sure he mentioned that after the fourth. This game is not going to shape our season. We have been humiliated an I am as angry as everyone else but I we have alot of positives as a club. On our day we are a very good side. Granted we need to perform consistently but I think we will get there. Figeuroa has been a huge loss but on his day Lennon can tear anyne apart. My one big issue though is the lack of leadership on the field. When we don’t perform no one has a go at anyone or motivates them an that is a worry. The result was a freak and I an sure we will see the real Wigan on Saturday!
We have taken a hiding and to be honest i can see it happening. The players we have are good enough. Scotland held the ball up well in the first half and we actually had them on the back foot until half time.
My problem with our side is that we dont have any character to stand up and make themselves counted. I think we lack heart and i never thought i would say that about a latics side. It could have been alot different today if we had scored from our chances. THe calls for Bobby to leave are bang out of order, we are rebuilding. Yes we have had a very bad day but calling for a resignation is ridiculous. Someone ban bobbys wigan his opinions stink and so does his optimism… he is no fan, hes just a wind up merchant.
I’m not ignoring our problems but to call for a resignation is ridiculous. I think Figeuroa has been missed, but i thought our whole defence was awful today. Its a bad day to be a wigan fan and i am not looking forward to tomorrow at university.what was his ideas behind putting zog at left back, just curious :DHe stated that he wanted to have as many attacking players on the field at the same time. He thought Edman wouldnt of even lasted till half time but when he became tired he wanted to keep Hugo, N’zogbia and get Sinclair on the field. He said that we were basically playing 2 at the back with Mario and N’zogbia pushing forward.
As regards the forum, i thought Roberto was brilliant. Showed his intelligence of the game and i love it how when he speaks about Wigan, even before he became manager, when he says we and our club. And was it just me or did the video at the beginning make you feel proud to be a fan of Wigan Athletic
Your not alone mate I’m going on my own straight after uni
Ok that’s a relief, I thought you had to submit questions before the night. Is it better to get there early? Will mr whelan be showing his face?
Scored against Bolton at the reebok when we got beat 4-1 against the scum.
Stu Langton? Do I actually know you, which I will hate having to admit.
