Our home form is awful and we have two massive games this
Month against Newcastle and Norwich which I think will shape the run in.Lose them both and I think we are done for and no positive slants from the manager is going to change that.
our home form is so bad it’s unbelievable and they need to try and fathom out the reason because no wins in nearly four months(Bournemouth game included) is just unacceptable.
the pressure is off at Everton and maybe that will result in a better performance but let’s not lose sight of the fact that we could be six points adrift of safety come that Newcastle game.
Martinez needs to look at his squad and make a tweak here and there like he did with Maloney last season because the games are running out and we need to turn this rotten home form around very quickly!

Our first attack and Kone and then De Santus fluff a golden chance each. They on their first attack score an unchallenged header and dance through our defence for the second.A badly formed wall allow a stupid third goal to deflect in and that was that game over!
he got his team selection and tactics wrong tonight why didnt Alcaraz start??
we are running out of games to sort all this out because this horendous home form is going to cost us if not turned around QUICKLY!
had to laugh at the wembley chants tonight as Everton supporters will be already booking their London hotels after seeing that.
          NOT GOOD ENOUGH’!!!!

He may originate from Billinge but he lived, and his parents still do, near me in Orrell(nr wish fm) and have done so for the 15+ years I have been here.

Most of Wigan is from Billinge ;)

They’re due about 46 penalties apparently. Every time they get beat they should have had at least one.

Keep Suarez quiet and they’ve nothing.

Wouldn’t exactly agree with that one Egg. They are one of the highest scorers in the league this season home & away so we’ve gotta be careful. Sturridge has pace to burn which won’t suite Caldwell.
That said they do concede so if we play well again and press them there could be a few goals in this game[/quote]

think we will get another win on Saturday as statistically we are due a home win.The Saturday night slot is a graveyard for betting slips across the land so don’t expect an easy ride for Liverpool and our record on Saturday nights isn’t too bad.Expect a semi p/ssed up crowd to give Brendan and his gang some verbal so let’s be optimistic for a positive result.
they have nothing to play for either and are a long way away from the power they once were.

Gareth Bale unplayable and Jusi Jaskelinnen [sp] 7-8 world class saves. goodpost goodpost goodpost goodpost goodpost

Not sure I agree with best game in 10 years however Spurs were by far the better side and Bale was outstanding for them.

I thought I wasn’t bothered about who won this, but after hearing all those arrogant Welsh prats being interviewed whilst boarding their coach this morning on Sky, come on Bradford get a grip.

Please rub their noses in their words – We will win 3-0, can’t wait for our European tour next year, we are going to walk it etc, horrible arrogance.

Rather irritating delusional club if you ask me with their pretentious gold braided kit however to win a major trophy after only two seasons and qualify for Europe is respect worthy isn’t it?
Bradford playing like frightened rabbits and the c,ass difference has told today.
It wast hilarious to watch those players , fighting like seven year olds over that penalty-infantile!

Could be tough next season though with billy big time players and a euro campaign to juggle and I can see a much tougher season if you ask me.
Let’s see if they can do eight seasons -I doubt it!

Bruce joined the club with a remit to keep the club in the premier league.
so he changed the style of play to high intensity using Valencia to chase down the ball and win free kicks and corners. This change had an immediate impact on results and we avoided relegation with a game to spare.I dont remember many people moaning back then and even less in 2008-9 when the team moved to the next level despite a fire sale in the january window and he achieved a comfortable finish with no relegation battle.
He made some very bad signings in my view and this seems to be his major weakness but you cannot argue about the way he sets up teams and I have some good memories of his time at Latics.
He made a mistake going across to Harrods sorry Blunderland and I wonder if he regrets leaving Latics as I’m sure he would have kept us up each year like Martinez has done.He is a good manager iand he will always have work with his record but it will always be at unfashionable clubs with low expectations rather than ones with delusions like Blunderland.
I hope he gets Hull up as nothing could be more boring than a club like Watford or Palace getting promoted.

Against a team with some recent form .the stats where superb before and after they went down to 10 men.Bring on the bin dippers and a beer festival afterwards.well done.

need to build on this now but Kones starting to show the prowess we bought him for and I reckon his goals will see us safe this year.We apparently walked all over them this afternoon-we are too good to go down!
I said we would win this game it was just a gut feeling and I have the same feeling about next weeks game against the scousers.

We have done well against the other relegation battlers this season in terms of points gained and we are due a win in the Premier league.
Think we will get it tomorrow and then follow it up with a shock win against the scousers a week on Saturday.

I have to admit I was a little bemused that the majority on here think we would struggle in the championship if we went down…

I think the only kick in the nads is all the senior players out of contract would be off in a shot but I dont hold much hope of any of them signing on if we do stay up so its not a major problem for me.

All the players in contract I am led to beleive have a significant relegation wage drop clause ( a contributing factor in our usual end of season escape? ) which will leave us in a position that if they went to go they will go for a reasonable price.

Then you have the likes of Mcmanaman, Dicko, Fyvie, Lopez and Golobart who I believe would have an opportunity to shine at that level.

Maloney really would be the Messi of the championship for me he seems to get better every time he plays.

Our club despite having the second lowest attendance on the PL and one of the cheapest set of tickets in football is still 100% financially secure.

If we went down I am sure there would still be money to spend to buy good championship players.

And in all honesty I think we would have bigger crowds than the last time we were in the championship despite the lower average away followings or are Wiganers really as fickle as they seem ?

Also I think if we stay up Roberto may be off at the end of the season but if we go down I honestly think he would stay.

And on a final note we are not going to get relegated so its a fruitless discussion ;)

I agree we will stay up and I think the prem season will kick start this Saturday despite what the negative folk are saying.

It’s that match commentator bloke I can’t stand and his frequent digs at our club.last season before the Everton home game in February he said on the Friday night before the game “Wigan are wabbish don’t put your money on them for the first goal and they ain’t staying up ain’t gonna happen” all said in the most sneering voice you could imagine and one which imitates the superior Mike Ingham off radio 5.
can’t stand this bloke and i regularly post jibes about the cr@p he spouts on their website.
