Maybe the club have a release clause in his contract if we stay up…
But seriously, if/when we go down, it’s important to stabilise and not plummet further. I don’t see us coming straight back up, but Gomez is capable of doing a job whilst the squad is rebuilt.
Bloody rubbish Liverpool.
Dalglish out.
Puts our troubles into perspective. Hope he’s pulls through ok.
…Ben Watson has finally mastered the art of clearing the first man from a corner, however Gomez is still struggling with that elusive, incisive forward pass…
You can name one player and one player only who you consider to have come up well short this season. For me I regret to have to name Conner Sammon who I had high hopes for ! :(
For me, Sammon was brought in as he’d have made a decent championship striker. Martinez/Whelan were perhaps planning for relegation last season so we would have had a decent start on the others. N’Zogbia kept us up single handed and now Sammon’s been consistently found out at this level. At least he puts the effort in.
This season there’s a few but perhaps Moses. Young kid, still learning blah blah blah. Maybe I expect too much from him and those around him won’t exactly fill him with confidence!
What a game. Reminded me of us against West Ham last season. Pitch looked like ours too. Shame we don’t have the spirit of Guinea.
Mancini’s response indicated that he probably had a better view than me and the fact he zealously waved no card, rather than a red or yellow one in the direction of the officials, suggests that he too thought it was ball to hand.
Rooney on the other hand should have been banned for months and I’m sure will be very warmly received when he returns here soon.
I wasn’t sure at the time but having watched it again it should never have been a yellow card. Ball to hand…
The other comments are opinions which i hope you dont take to heart, just feel that you have done amazing going through all the divisions and stopping up season in and season out but theres nothing more you offer to the league. sorry just my opinion! And what exactly do you offer to the league? Not exactly up there challenging for trophies are you? For a ‘big’ team with so much support and history you seem pretty average to me with a penchant for turning on the manager quite quickly when you perceive things aren’t going right. The bottom line here is that none of us are ever going to be up there. The difference is that we know it – many other teams don’t seem to.
I’m all for it if it helps even out the decisions in favour of the little clubs. What worries me is not the actual technology, but the fact that someone like Phil Dowd will ultimately be the video ref so we may be no better off.
Now to be fair to them, there’s always someone who’s quick to make a banner for any occasion – and nothing beats a sense of injustice. And what’s with all the Uruguay flags? It was Spanish ones last time they came here. Where have they all gone? I’ve got some England car flags from Euro 2004 if they want them too…
Up to 20 pages of moaning now. Plenty of darksiders there.
Dalglish out.
They’re more likely to scare an opposition centre half than certain other members of the squad. Give em a game…
Best:
Al Habsi (if loans count). For the first time in the Prem we have a keeper who instills confidence in everyone. No offence to Filan intended.
Valencia. Proved himself, worked hard and thoroughly earned his move to a bigger club unlike many others.
Also a honourable mention to Palacios.
Bad:
Zaki. Took the pi55. Things must have been bad if even Bruce questioned his loyalty. It briefly looked so good, but what a huge disappointment.
Webster. Something fishy about that transfer with all its legal wranglings. Plainly not good enough for the Prem.
And a dishonourable mention to Agahowa, King, Koumas etc…
Don’t think the Caldwell’s would have had too much hassle against them tonight. Messi would struggle to make our starting 11. On the bench at best.
