Agreed
Two buffoons, then? You wouldn’t swap him for any keeper in the world? Give yourselves a shake, lads. Who would you swap him for then Griff?
That is such a silly question to ask on every level ishmael.
I thought everyone who reads this board knows that griff would pick himself to do the job, in his mind he is superior to every other person on the planet at what ever he does.
Another fan of griffs !!
How long before I get another grovelling PM, Mr G?

At the risk of stirring up an hornet’s nest, looks like us 2 ‘buffoons’ have been vindicated.
The words of one, who most of us would agree know’s one or the other thing about the beautiful game …
Thankfully, Al Habsi’s blushes were spared when Jordi Gomez completed his hat-trick deep into stoppage-time, with the goalkeeper’s relief being written all over his face as his team-mates celebrated.
And Martinez believes the fact that so much has been made of the 30-year-old’s blunder is a reflection of his incredible consistency since joining Latics two-and-a-half years ago.
“I wouldn’t take any other keeper to replace Ali and that’s how much we rate him,” Martinez insisted.
“He’s the perfect goalkeeper for ourselves – he’s someone who can fit in in the way we want to play.
“He’s someone who’s still developing and in every aspect is the perfect goalkeeper for Wigan Athletic.
“I know that at international level, he is already an icon. We’ve been to Oman and we know what pressure he plays under, and it’s incredible to see him developing and growing and getting better.
“I still feel he’s got another step to get to and once he gets there, he’s a keeper who can compete in any sort of challenge to win a title, the Champions League or a World Cup.”
:P
Important to be pragmatic (aware of who we are etc.), not a@al.
Ali – please ensure normal service is resumed, Monday next !
Thank you both (Robbie, Ali) !!

The same Martinez who said that Ben Watson would play for England last season? Hardly an objective commentator ;)
The moral of the story is read carefully the opinion you are agreeing to. You can bang on about this until you are blue in the face but the fact remains that you both said that you wouldn’t have any other keeper in the world without ever adding the caveat “bearing in mind who we are”. Pedantic I might be, right I most definitely was ;)

30 November 2012 at 2:57 pm #97483I’m sorry Griff, for your benefit In future I shall endeavour to explain my comments in laymans terms. (Explain things more clearly) In future, please try and remember that any comments I make, will be Wigan Athletic orientated. I neither play subbuteo or have a fantasy football team.

Don’t need layman’s terms, just write what you mean ;)
You don’t know what you’re missing with the subbuteo, though
30 November 2012 at 4:29 pm #97494I did write what I meant, I said that “I” wouldn’t swap him. I think most people on here agree, being positive and all that… You however, just seemed to want to pick holes and, in your pathetic words, “wait for people to come on here”.. blah blah blah. Like I say, 6384 posts says it all. Griff, You are a legend in your own cyber world.

No !
Left-hand forehand, down the line, fantastic pass, ball called good (thank you Mr Umpire), GAME, SET and MATCH
goodpost goodpost goodpost
Nothing wrong with constructive debate, people should just rather be a little more choosy with the language they use (Buffoons, indeed) – or be prepared to get as good as they give.
More the constructive, less the destructive (nit-picking etc.); more the pragmatic, less the anal, if you please
