Trouble is, we don’t seem to know when JR is trying to make a serious statement or just having a bit of fun. Maybe he can flag it up on each post so we know. It would save a lot of meaningless responses.

This thread isn’t really about Bob – it’s about the posters themselves.

The replies reveal far more about the state of their minds than about the prospects of Bob.

I think most of us realised this long ago, but reading the replies of some has been quite entertaining and slightly embarrassing at times.

The original post only asked how long we thought it may be before Bob had Everton at the wrong end of the table, but don’t I think anyone actually thought he would with the resources he has at Everton.

I personally don’t care whether he takes Everton forwards, backwards or whatever as I don’t support Everton and don’t care that much about Martinez anyway.

He seems a nice enough bloke but he was a bit naive (in my view, if its allowed) to think all his football philosophy’s could be implemented at a club the size of Wigan. He tried, but failed in the end as he didn’t have good enough players.

He moved on after failing, as a better offer came up, you can’t blame him with what was on offer. A few were upset by this and thought he should have had the decency or the balls to try to repair the damage he caused.

I personally thought he should have stayed to rectify it, but in the end was glad to see the back of him as his style of football bored me most weeks.

The FA Cup victory was undoubtedly a massive achievement and Wigan Athleic being FA Cup Champions was something I never thought I would witness.

The debate will no doubt keep going as opinions on Bob will not change, and the chances of him getting Everton to the top are probably equal to the chances of him taking them to the wrong end of the table.

Anyway this brief trip back after a few days away and realising it is the same old shit being posted, I really can’t be arsed any more. Better things to do, better people to deal with.

I’m sure someone on this board had previously posted that they had no chance of keeping hold of Barry and Lukaku…

I think its a real coup to keep hold of both and fend off the interest in Baines for that matter but if the £28M fee being reported is correct then I think Martinez and Kenwright want to get their heads checked.

Money aside though they look pretty strong as a squad going forward so all the Martinez cry babys on here can look forward to another season of egg on their chin.

7 million for Bosselli and 3 million for Scotland, compared to these two 28 million for Lukaku looks a steal.

Everton and Martinez are going to be spending c.50 million pounds this close season and basically getting last seasons side back, the best they can hope for despite that massive investment is fighting it out for 5th, 6th or 7th place in the league, madness.
