For us getting relegated the price of £179 last season was a great gesture for us the loyal fans, this just kicks me in the nuts, and yes it is a price hike on last season.
20 May 2017 at 12:10 am #159107We only shifted 9,000 season tickets (including the free ones for kids) last year.
Sticking a minimum 40% hike on last years’ price after a season of failure is really not going to create a stampede to the DW Ticket office!
They’ll be lucky to shift 5,000 season tickets this time round.
20 May 2017 at 12:20 am #159108Can’t believe people are moaning about the prices FFS its roughly £12 a game max and it’s only that much because their are no parachute payments now if you don’t like it go and pay more at Stockport
20 May 2017 at 12:27 am #159109Moaning about the kids’ prices. Not the same thing at all.
Do we want youngsters coming through supporting us or not?
Because if we dn’t catch them now then in 10 years we are going to be in serious trouble.20 May 2017 at 12:29 am #159110We only shifted 9,000 season tickets (including the free ones for kids) last year.Sticking a minimum 40% hike on last years’ price after a season of failure is really not going to create a stampede to the DW Ticket office!

And knocking 40% off after a season of success didn’t create one either in a division higher. I really do despair of our so called supporters at times.
20 May 2017 at 12:44 am #159111Garswood at £69 that is £3 a game come on mate you must be having a laugh if your not happy with that would cost you more at McDonald’s
20 May 2017 at 12:46 am #159112As I said in this thread earlier a loyal man city fan pays £299 were going to pay £269 for Div 1, must admit tho they could cost £100 and we wouldn’t sell any more.
Children are the future of the club so I think their deal could be frozen at least.20 May 2017 at 12:54 am #159113Prices now announced and I’m not happy
Adult tickets are sort of OK (we need to balance the books and last year was a bargain), but my 6-year-old grandson who loves “his seat” in the East Stand, where he has sat for the past 3 years loyally, is now expected to be charged £69.
If we were in the South Stand it would be free, or at most £29. But we don’t want to go in the South Stand. Why are the club trying to pen all families in there. There are loads of kiddies in the West and East Stands.
All prices should be comparable. OK if you make it a bit cheaper in teh South – I’ll even accept free with an adult in teh South, but £29 elsewhere. But £69 for a 6-year-old? People just aren’t going to take the kids, and that’s the future support of the club gone.
I really think they should think again, before they penalise people who just want to take along youngsters. If there is a party of adults, but one wants to regularly bring their child, then it is not reasonable to ask everyne in the group to move to the South Stand.
Totally agree with you there, George.
Only Latics could hike prices up after relegation. We will DEFINITELY be waiting to see who comes as manager, etc. Now. It’s going to cost us over £800 for 2 adults and 2 young kids. It’s actually a disgrace.
And no, definitely do not go in the south stand. We did that this season and it was abysmal. Terrible view (not that there was much to see) and no atmosphere or feeling of fan camerardrie.
But the fact it’s going to cost us over 800 to sit on the side, as opposed to around 500 from last season……
I am seriously thinking of not bothering.
Well done once again, Latics. You’ve made a big big mistake, once again.[/quote]
FFS Dave, here you go again with the I’m not bothering again routine, no doubt you’ll be back on at some point saying it was just a wind up.
Look, the prices next season are actually not that bad, £11.69 for a seat at the half way line will do me.
I sympathies to an extent for the cost of a 6 year old, however at £3 a fortnight its cheaper than going to one of those run and jump places that my two grand kids love to drag me to every other week.
I’ve been saying it for years, there is no reason to charge kids anything to get in if potentially they drag an adult with them.
I personally think next season’s ticket sales will drop to the 5,000 mark irrespective of the prices. This board is living proof, that there are many fans out there who only want to support a winning team playing ole football in the top two tiers of the football league. From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!20 May 2017 at 1:13 am #159115I think it’s a bit harsh saying £3 is OTT – a burger at McDonalds costs that (well a decent one anyway)!
20 May 2017 at 1:21 am #159116I’m not complaining about the adult prices. I know we got a bargain last year.
It’s the inequality in the children’s pricing.
£69 for a 6-year-old – when no-one is exactly going to be clamouring for his seat.
We will pay it – it’s in his blood now.
But how many others won’t buy a ticket for their kiddies – the future of the club – because of the price, when they can’t usually get to night matches etc.So it’s going to cost me an extra £140 than last season, if kids aren’t going free. I think you are right when you say it’s wrong how club tries to get all families in south stand. A side section of the south or east should be made the family section, with the south made available at lowest ticket price.
The structure of how they’ve done it isn’t brilliant. I’ve an 11 year old. For 90% of next season he will BE 11. Does that mean I pay £69, or £99?

I feel a lot of people will take this stance next season.
If we appoint someone such as Paul Cook, we will happily renew and get behind them.All.im saying is I am surprised.at the clubs stance and the ticket prices. The Leeds game had a lot of empty seats, so.i was told. I didn’t go.
20 May 2017 at 3:05 am #159118Pay on the day prices are miles away. Last season was bad but this coming season a minimum charge of £20-00 rising to £28-00 for the top category games must have been the idea of someone with the marketing aptitude that brought us Sharpies Chippy.
Can see crowds around 6,000 next season with this announcement added to our sell sell and no investment policy.20 May 2017 at 4:21 am #159119Most games will be £20 the £28 ones will be the offer ones when away fans pay £28 home fans pay between £20 – £24 what’s wrong with £20 just look at AFC Wimbldon a shite little terrace of a ground £17

But surely as a fan, we support the club not the manager or players, they come and go us supporters will be here till we cock our legs up won’t we??
Who is to say Paul Cook will turn us around if he comes, he may do then again he may not.
I’ll say this, if 5 months ago, we had the choice of taking Warren Joyce as manager or Paul Cook it would have been the United youngster’s manager every time. Don’t be fooled into thinking this manager or that manager will be our saviour, there are too many variables to predict that. Who thought Rooky Caldwell would win us the league title in his first full season as a manager.

What a journey!20 May 2017 at 8:01 am #159121An increase was inevitable after last year’s bargain basement at £179. That said going to £269 is more than I was expecting (thought it would be £229-£249 region) and the individual prices look high at up to £28…
