31 January 2019 at 2:12 am #175722Bloody hope so, £1.25 million is a piss take. Now start him Saturday with Piilkington on the left and Jacobs on the right and Roberts in the Powell role and lets get QPR beaten.
Absolutely don lets get after them.

31 January 2019 at 11:54 am #175726Heard a whisper last night that Grigg could still be on his way.All depends if we can push through the transfer of John Marquis from Doncaster Allegedly this is the reason we are reluctant to release Grigg until we are certain we can get him.Might be load of tosh but makes for more transfer day titillation. If we do get him I hope he’s as good as the last ace forward we signed from Doncaster.!!
31 January 2019 at 3:02 pm #175727good job your not a Burnley fan cup winners.
swapping a 29 year old for a 38 year old!!!!!!!!!!
31 January 2019 at 4:49 pm #175730I heard we will only accept an offer of 3 million for grigg, having turned down the 5th offer. Even if that is the case, I hope there is someone lined up.

Even if that is the case, I hope there is someone lined up.That’s the problem with a transfer window and deadline. To sell a player you usually require a backup so you either sign someone you don’t need, sign them for well over the odds because the selling club know you’re desperate or worse still end up with nobody.
I personally think that someone going out will only be on loan and we will probably get a LB in on loan as well.
31 January 2019 at 7:37 pm #175732Vaughan has gone to Portsmouth on loan
31 January 2019 at 7:38 pm #175733What would be the odds be that were lining up a replacement for Grigg as we speak and if it goes through Griggs gone.
It seems strange that we so called valued him at £1.25 million but an offer of £1.5 million has been turned down and now we’ve moved the goal post up to a mad £3 million.
Nothing shocks me on transfer day with us. We normally have a minimum 10 player turn around. Should be an interesting last few hours for us

Vaughan going means that we won’t let Grigg go without a replacement so fingers crossed we don’t sign a striker unless he happens to be someone like Billy Sharp or that Roofe guy at Leeds.
31 January 2019 at 11:06 pm #175737Anythings possible, Cook has used Windass up front and Roberts not to mention Powell who will be back soon enough.
If a late offer comes in and it meets our valuation he’ll be gone. There wont be any, “Were short up front, under no circumstance is he going anywhere !” talk he’ll be out the door faster than sh*t off a shovel covered in WD4031 January 2019 at 11:22 pm #175738Anythings possible, Cook has used Windass up front and Roberts not to mention Powell who will be back soon enough.

31 January 2019 at 11:44 pm #175740I’m sure we’ll have a fair few pokers in the fire but as per usual, other clubs will be doing the same and hanging on to fringe players till they see what’s on offer plus the player himself might be waiting for a far better offer.
Then weigh in the factor that, were slding down the table faster than sh!t off a shovel ! not very appealing to any player. We’ve so called offered up to £450,000 for Blackett but that’s to replace not to improve so to speak.
If Grigg does go either on loan or even sold then I’m sorry it’s a simple show of defeat by the new owners as they’ve no reason what so ever to unload him. Will Cook not have the last say on such a high profile player still in contract ???.
I just cant see anyone of a similar quality to Grigg coming to Wigan. Now if Cook had of concentrated on getting some kind of supply to Grigg making sure he had service then some of those stupid 1-0’s might just be wins and those games we were in front might now be 3 pts.
No one play player will save us from the drop, it will be a combination of, a few in few out, a total change of style of play, change of player mindset and simple fresh idea’s then we might, just might beat the drop something I feel Cook is incapable f doing. He’s just too far down the line with little time left.
Cook’s just read this and thought ‘Bollocks…he’s right. If we can get the ball to Will, he might score. Call the players in…’
Nothing to do with the fact that Jacob, Massey and Powell – who usually load the bullets in Grigg’s gun are all crocked?[/quote]
And the players response:-
“Woh Woh Woh Paul, you want me to run down were and cross what ?….”
Sorry ? pass a ball while he’s running were ? What’s he doing sat on the center halfs shoulder ? Is he a parrot ??”
“Will fookin who ??” do you mean Will Powell Massey ?, doesn’t he play for Spurs?”
You seriously think a player cannot adapt ? Jesus wept, nout down for us
1 February 2019 at 12:14 am #175742Sunderland have signed a striker
1 February 2019 at 1:57 am #175747Don’t be shocked if it’s …….:)
1 February 2019 at 2:20 am #175749I still think there’s life in the Grigg/Sunderland move, even with 45 mins to go. Want the window shut and still have him.
