Never in any doubt. One of the best young managers in World football. Go on Bobby son!

Thomas has been steady for most of this season. Fair enough he imploded against Villa and cost us the points, but I think it’s unfair to stick him in the Pat Gavin category off the back of one game.

All I can say from the article is the following:

Attractive football – When this season have we ever played attractive football. Oh I see, the awkward passing from the back 4 before losing possession is attractive football, I am getting it now.

Best young managers – This has to be the worst comment the light side supporters have ever put forward, look at our record with this great manager

Lucky to have him – I for one will be ok with relegation but I do not think that is lucky. I think we were unlucky he turned down other clubs and took us down.

That has to be the worst post ever and you must be a rugby mon.

Our club is going backwards for the first time in 10-12 years due to the most incompetent manager we have ever had

          Please allow me to retort:

Attractive Football – My original post states that in my opinion he is trying to get us playing attractive football. I agree that we’ve struggled with it thus far, but he got Swansea doing it in League 1 and the Championship, and that club now finds it second nature to play that way. Once it clicks for us, it will be tremendous.

Best Young Manager – I did not say he was the best young manager, I said ‘one of’. People of his age are, at the very best, assistant managers. He is learning all the time. Yes he makes mistakes, but that’s all part and parcel of it. Whereas alot of managers will serve an apprenticeship for many years under an experienced person before going it alone – learning from their mentor’s mistakes along the way – he hasn’t had that luxury. Some may (undoubtedly) say that he was an arrogant fool to take the job without experience, but I think it shows he has balls like church bells.

Lucky to have him – Why do you think the Swansea fans went mental when he left? Not because of the “They’ll have to carry me out” comments, but because they knew what they’d lost. Do you think they’d have lost any sleep if he’d made those comments but never delivered on the pitch? Would they chuff. We ARE lucky to have him, because he will manage the club as a whole rather than just focus on the first team. Have you seen how well the reserves are doing? They’ve not lost at home for a f*cking year! Don’t even bother pointing out that they got a spanking at Newcastle the other week – that’s a one off. Under previous regimes, the reserves were very poor and gave us no hope of anyone coming through. At Hull in the cup we had a squad packed with youngsters who had been given and then earned their chance. That hasn’t happened for years. The club as a whole is on the up. As Squire Manny Brown pointed out, a football club is not just about the 11 who are on MOTD.

You must be a rugby mon – do me a favour.

Our club is going backwards for the first time in 10-12 years due to the most incompetent manager we have ever had – see the paragraph above as to why the first part of this sentence isn’t true, and look up Kenny Swain to see why the second isn’t.

Thankyou for taking the time to read my post and comment on it.

Perhaps they want Barry Fry or Neil Warnock as manager…..

I suppose there’s no way to prove it either way, so believe what you want.

All I’ll say is that my name’s Peter and I live in Wigan – never Skem. But then I would say that if I was trying to cover myself.

              I can’t win!!!

Without a shadow of a doubt! Would’ve struggled to get in a Wigan Ammy League side!

A well reasoned reply even though I cant possibly comment on the Spencer thing ! Just one criticism, you did lose it at the end ! As you are clearly a tyro on this forum, perhaps a winky emoticon would have made it light hearted and not made me think you were losing it at such an early stage !! ;)

                  Clever fil…….

                  …….very clever. ;) [/quote]

I must confess to not understanding this when I read it originally, but have been informed by a mate that this means I’m suspected of being a multiposter called Dave from Skem.

I can confirm that this is not this the case!! I’m just a guy who wanted to vent his anger at the stupidity of a number of our fans.

                  Cheers.

Just watched the goal again: http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/football/premier-league/video/allvideos-22327918/highlights-wigan-athletic-1-2-aston-villa-23964189 go to 1min 25 secs

There’s no one on the post when the ball is played in. McArthur ends up there when the goal is scored.

So before you go criticising people on other threads for having no evidence to back up their statements, make sure you practice what you preach. ;)

I’m sorry but there is absolutely no evidence whatsoever to back that statement up. None

He is the youngest manager in the Premier League, which along with La Liga is seen as one of the top two leagues in the world. I don’t know if there are any younger managers than him in La Liga, but I’m gonna stick my neck out and say that there aren’t.

As such he is the youngest manager in the top two leagues in World football. Therefore I feel fully justified in using that evidence to back up my statement that he is one of the best young managers in World football.

As for the stepping stone argument, I fully agree that he would leave us for a bigger club one day – but it would have to be a fantastic job I’m sure.

According to press reports at the time he turned down bigger clubs with bigger finances and fan bases to come here. He wants to be here and to make this into a better club. This is the man who refused to sign for a club in the same division as Wigan Athletic as he didn’t want to have to play against us. This would all suggest that perhaps the only job he would have left Swansea for – outside of a really big club – would be this one.

Bruce on the other hand used us to get out of Birmingham and then jumped ship as soon as another offer came along.

and why oh why no one on the posts at corners

Correct me if I’m wrong, but against Villa was only the 2nd goal conceded from a corner this season (Newcastle away being the other), so we’re doing something right.

Just a little concerned about your use of of the ‘Second-person’ perspective.

                            Busted, I’m really a Bolton fan :o

Perhaps if I’d put ’35 points kept one up last season’. Although that makes me sound like the queen.

As I see it we are doing worse and with a supposedly better squad !! We wont get more than 13 pts from the remaining fixtures ! 35 and down which is a shame really !

35 points kept you up last season, and the season before. Time to break out the Moet! :D

                                  Teabag,

I didn’t really want to reply. This is the first post I’ve ever made, and I did it as I just wanted to make a point to certain people and leave it at that. However, as you are so hellbent on defending Brenda, I thought I’d defend my comment.

Who do you think the ex-employee is who only a matter of weeks ago was reported in the national press as touting Charles N’Zogbia to other clubs? Bruce has been given plenty sh¦t by our fans for unsettling our players to join him at Sunderland. I agree that he’s out of order, but at least he did it for football reasons and at least he wasn’t still connected with our club.

She was peddling Charles around to benefit her retirement fund, and while she’s our life president or whatever. What a cheek!

She has used her position within the club to open doors when contacting people to try and flog our prized asset. So basically, she gets rich for doing something that no-one wants her or has asked her to do.

As for the ‘I have it on good authority’ comment, I’m not going to go naming sources at the club to add credibility to the post – I’m not the only one who knows someone or other who works there – so you either take my word for it or not. But don’t you think it’s a bit of a conincidence that her and Benson leave when a manager arrives who has the chairman’s ear more than they did and therefore is fully able to question what they actually did?

And finally…. Whelan and Martinez and others regularly get a slating on this and many other boards. Do you flag this up to an administrator every time? Thought not. Which leads me to believe that YOU are in fact Brenda Spencer. ;)
