OK Michael we will leave it there then
I`m off to the bright city lights by the ocean later anyway. Have a good night yourself.
Good night indeed…….
enjoy your night by the seaside.
All publicity is good publicity as they say!
Appologies Danny my last reply wasn`t aimed at you. I know you took the thread in the way it was intended ;)
If, per chance,it was aimed at me (moving on bit?) – then I’m afraid that you have me at a disadvantage.
I have no idea what you are talking about………you have obviously confused me with someone else.
As per usual you miss the point Michael and then try your best to ignore the points you put accross which have been proved untrue. You really must brush up on your reading skills…I addressed everything you asked in your past post….but hey! you just keep to your usual dodging and repetitiveness about what you’ve done with all your mates yada yada in the past…..I’m not going over old ground – you really must read what I say – and then understand it.
So what makes you so protective given that you have never contributed anything be it in print or as articles (Jay i`m sure always like input from posters). You admit you do nothing to help with the upkeep of the site but in my opinion you do like to play the big man.
Like I said earlier (if you had read it) I am no more protective of this site than others who post here….and as for playing the bigman – get a grip of yourself man.
You are correct there has been no fanzine on here for a number of years but there has been talk of reforming one. Did you offer your services to that ? All comments are welcome on all sites i`d say. In fact the more the merrier i say. That`s what makes a messageboard/site
At last a bit of sense from you – and I thank you for judging my statement correct – as for contributing; like many others I have not the time – indeed there have been times when I haven’t posted for weeks on end due to other commitments
You do slag people off on other sites in your own little witty way and always have done. “The grass being greener” your latest one. You will obvioulsy deny it with your long words but you don`t fool me one bit. I stand by what i said that you are obsessed with past posters.
I do deny it (look short words for you to understand). For your information, and those from ‘other’ sites, I do not visit them, read their input, know anything about their views or opinions…..nor am I bothered – it’s simple (see point above) I do not have the time, nor inclination.
The same past posters who again in my opinion you were not fit to lace the boots of in terms of posting, submitting articles, helping with the site, fanzine and everything else it took in years gone by. I stand by what i say about you being faceless and prefer to stay behind your keyboard. The posters of years gone by were not afraid to show their face, did a lot of work for charity, even had CockneyLatic tables at club functions. Can the same be said about your goodself ?
Bothered!
Hope i have cleared up a few of the points. Hope you can clear up mine. Like the point about you “outing me” which seems to be one of your big traits on here. I`m sure you have inadvertantly overlooked the Little Wigan explanation aswell. I`ve never seen the Maltese Falcon either
You have cleared up jack sh1t…..I didn’t ask you to respond to anything. Oh! and forgive me if the concept of addressing your ‘points’ individually like this is a little alien to you I didn’t want you to be confused again. Before I go let me ‘clear up’ two little anomalies:
1. This little snippet…….. “Like the point about you “outing me” which seems to be one of your big traits on here.“…..let me remind you of what was actually said……”Or is it that you were trying to “out me” as Ozzie ? I`m confused.
” written by you -try and read what you actually write.2. I have not inadvertently overlooked anything about LW. I made a comment – you bit, and now using your crap reverse psych argument want more than I was going to say. I have a lot of respect for what he did and the site he ran (small as it was )……go fish somewhere else.
So there you have it – nothing to hide, all points addressed…..moving on
If i have mentioned Little Wigan under another username then it`s news to me. I thought Little Wigan posted as that username and also used to bark like a dog under another username. If i`ve struck gold with another then it was purely unintentional.Surely if Ozzie was a prolific poster then he would have been placed in the all time X1 and not the worst X1 ? Or is it that you were trying to “out me” as Ozzie ? I`m confused.
You seem very defensive of this site Maltese Michael yet as i pointed out you`ve never wrote a page for the fanzine, never sold it, contributed to it or attended an event or the fact that anyone associated with it knows anything about you. Well so you think. I find it very funny that in the past you have slagged off people on other sites yet without them CockneyLatic would not have existed. Where abouts in London did you live when you helped Vaughanie form the mag ? The site used to be a social site, people who knew each other, people who if they didn`t know each other came to functions to hopefully put a name to a face and have a good time. Now it seems like it`s full of people like yourself sat behind a keyboard trying to play the big mysterious one. Just my opinion.
Not sure what your 97 reference is about
….and it’s opinions like yours that I’m afraid makes me ‘protective’ (unusual choice of words for there are others here who protect it even more vociferously). Quite right……I haven’t sold a mag or wrote a page for the fanzine does that make my contribution to this site any less than those who just ‘lurk’ or post little – call me old fashioned but when exactly was the last published article of said fanzine (you seem to be living in the past and anyone not of your ilk mustn’t be worthy to comment on a public forum ergo (that word again phil) I must be a JCL).
I haven’t ‘slagged off’ anyone from other sites (there have been a few who have ‘challenged’ what I have said and we have cleared the air with a mutual understanding for the common way forward. I am not alone in speaking my mind here, or indeed anywhere else…..there are more fastidious interlocutors on this board than me and with your tone I suspect you too are ‘barking’ up the wrong tree.
I admit I do like a bit of banter…..sometimes it can get loud but in the end I always respect the input even from those I disagree with after all this is what makes for good rapport (a ‘luv in’ is not what I’m after at all).
The 2+2=97 was your comparison between me and Humphrey Bogart (Maltese Falcon?)………
Richard……
not an obsession chap merely an observation. You took care in mentioning other, notable, past persona’s (I even saw Little Wigan in there amongst them)and to bring this up after all this time, I now think that you are now the one stalking me (whoever you are).
I`m afraid i haven`t mentioned Little Wigan once Michael. Unless you know something i don`t know. I seem to remember you claiming that you thought bickymon was Ozzie in a post. You do seem to enjoy mentioning him. I`ve met Ozzie a few times at the match, at Cockneylatic functions, when selling fanzines, even in the bookies and one thing i`ve found is he`s very friendly and always a good laugh. I don`t think he`s ever hid behind his username unlike some people on here. People who are very defensive of Cockneylatic even though they`ve never wrote a page for the fanzine, never sold it, contributed to it or attended an event or the fact that anyone associated with it knows anything about them.
Know what i mean Maltese Michael ?
You mentioned him in your ‘subs’ selection – albeit under a different username. As for me thinking bicky was ozzie that must have been a long long time ago…and to be fair you are probably right – he may be a decent chap – I only mentioned his persona as he was a very prolific poster once and as someone who talks like a past performer/contributor I thought it a little remis that you didn’t even include him….as you say you’ve met him a few times.
As for your other cryptic reference – I can only assume you have put 2 and 2 together (somewhere) and come out with 97.
Very strange…….
Hey! DICK
not even a mention of ‘Ozzie’ in the worst ever XI.
Maybe you are saving him for the “youth” team…..eh?
Just a thought like…….
.
Well spotted Michael. Very observant. My next line up will be School Teachers Past And Present From the Poulton Le Fylde Area Still Obsessed With Ozzie After All These Years.
I`ve got the keeper sorted, any chance you can help me with the other 10 ?
As for your next team selection I have no idea of how you will go about getting that together (me having a WN6 postcode and all that), however, I do have a very good friend who lives in Thornton (I suppose that is close enough) who may do a little bit of ‘digging’ for you.
I’m afraid the only help I could give would be to supply you with 10 other names……..
……….unfortunately that would leave you with only one person covering ten positions. (You would be included within that 10).
You need to brush up there Sherlock…………..get Watson on the case next time. ;)
For me I think that the team are mentally stronger coming out of the City game as we did…….(pundits, punters, fans et al – all against them – good job the manager kept their spirits up)
I think QPR will be there for the taking…..a nervy (but quick) start, commanding midfield, build in confidence and an away result – Kick on from there.

:woohoo:
goodpost
For the past few seasons however, it’s been used as the next step up from the Youth Team, hence why it’s made up in the most part with lads in their teens or early twenties. The odd first teamer gets a game when coming back from injury, but other than that, it’s a bunch of kids.
The object of the Development Squad is not to win games, it’s to develop players (it’s why the name was changed from Reserve to Development, and hence why the players are actively encouraged to go out on loan to get first team football). Yes, they play competitive matches – often against teams made up of players who are in first team consideration at other clubs, .
Standish to use your own terminology
“Don’t give me that shite!”
The make up of the teams we play against is exactly the same of ours youngsters nobody has heard of.
I had a conversation about this recently with a colleague who is a blackburn season ticket holder and quite knowledgeable about his club, we were talking about how squad players get ‘match fitness’ as none of them seem to play reserve team games any more as the reserves are full of development players/youth team as you correctly say, but its not just wigan athletics as you claim, its all the teams.
People really need to keep themselves focused on the topic – RTFP – Read the F3cki& Post. ……instead of turning it into some self centered dick showing crusade to vilify their own pithy, trolling argument……
From the Premier League..
“Youth Development is hugely important to the Premier League and since the League’s inception in 1992, the youth programme has expanded beyond all recognition.
At that time, Clubs had access to young players from the age of 14 for one to two hours per week. Now there are 40 Academies across the country.
Seventeen of them are in the Premier League with the exceptions being Wigan Athletic, QPR and Swansea, who operate Centres of Excellence.
So after others have creamed themselves from the ‘fixtures’ page of the Latics website showing recent results they really should acquaint themselves with the ethos of this part of the club.
Let he who cast the first stone
It’s not about the feckin results…….nor is it about your feckin hidden agenda. It is about the youth of this great town and their development as young men, academically as well as socially (you know the ‘real big picture’).
But hey!….Go on have a dig…..all of you – let’s let down the youth of the town and dispel any idea that there might be hope in the future, let’s crush their very being (after all we don’t need them do we?)
Get out of your feckin ivory towers and talk sense………..for all I’ve ever read here recently, from some, is complete and utter trolling, seditious claptrap.
ermmmm! someone mentioned context earlier:
Man city 6….Man Utd errmm. That really was a very poor result for their respective youth teams.
Insert [give me feckin strength] smilie here
For me I think that the team are mentally stronger coming out of the City game as we did…….(pundits, punters, fans et al – all against them – good job the manager kept their spirits up)

Standish I admire you arguing your corner in support of martinez but you are fighting a losing battle – whatever the reasons tactics, poor signings, bad luck or starvation of funds you and every man and his dog knows what is in front of all our eyes and it has gone worse not better.
True tonight it was an improved second half display against city, but city were poor and nervous at times and have been for their last few games, add the fact they had so many key players out,we could not have played them at a better time,if there is ever a good time to play them, but martinez does not have the ability to reconise this and go for the jugular, why bother living with the regret of being over cautious, is it not better to give it a go and die trying which didnt happen tonight and that sums martinez up for me.
The opinion he puts forward in his post match interviews – improved display and positives doesn’t wash any more.
There is a distinct lack of self belief, fight or motivation in this squad and no matter what anyone says the manager is the one who must address this, he is the route cause and where the buck stops.
I’ll repeat clearly what I’ve said on several threads over the past few days:
No, things are not going right on the pitch or we would not be in the position we are in.
What I have been picking up on are what I consider to be whoppers or merely people jumping onto a term that they have now knowledge of, and can’t explain:
There’s a lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth after a one-nil loss to Man City. Some people need to get a grip of reality. Yes we could have gone for the jugular, but had everyone been thrown into attack and the back four been left exposed, we could easily have been hammered. On the firth goal going in, the stadium would have cleared to the sound of the odd boo and people posting on here an hour later saying Martinez’s tactics are useless – much the same as happened last night funnily enough, minus the scoreline.
What are his tactics? I don’t know. I’ve never been in the dressing room on match day.
As for the interviews – they are not aimed at Loudmouthblue sitting on his reclining chair in his fishing themed snug. His interviews are aimed at a wider audience, possibly including the players and suitors for them and himself.
Brownbill said the other day he’d prefer a more Mick McCarthy direct approach to interviews. In my opinion that’s the last thing the club needs. Unfashionable northern town; the general public think it’s a rugby league town of flat caps and whippets; they now also have a blunt manager who calls a spade a spade.
We may as well have a half time brass band.
But Mr Walker…..
…..it would be a shit Brass band with ‘flat’ notes, poor timing, lack of depth, not enough songs played etc etc…..
…and when they finished the few who had stayed on the terraces instead of leaving early for threir pint and pie would boo them off calling for the conductors head shouting obsenities about crappy French Horns and trombones that drag…..
………I stopped listening to this crap the darksiders spout weeks ago. Regurtitating the same old crap over and over……it’s a very sad life some of them lead, (it’s as if they have never seen us in this predicament before……. )
For Heavens sake, I even read earlier someone extol the virtues of using the long ball as a way getting better performance (indeed even results) without tackling the part about who our strikers may be up against in those scenarios….I have seen, far too often, established defenders not even break into a sweat when dealing with a long ball sent their way.
Hey ho fella!…..every credit to you for sticking it up against them.
It’s not over til…….. [insert picture of fat lady singing here]
So Micky lets just carry on regardless playing crap football that produces no goals and not much excitement and get relegated. If nobody complains we can all say we were proper fans who stuck with the team and never complained even though were crap. When us the supporters stop caring the club really is dead and I’m sorry but why should we have to suffer in silence???
everything pal…why do you think we had to apply for the Scottish league even though we are in england
Think about it numb nuts……english league didn’t want to elect us because our nice people at the council did everything they could to stop us, because it would jeopardize THEIR rugger clubs stature. And which party did/does our town still vote LABOUR.
Thought you were a bit brighter than that pal
Hmmmm! interesting. Why do you think we had to apply?
I also understand your age might have an implication on the way you think (or does it?)….however, if you are indeed as young as you say then do a little bit of research chap……[sarcastic winky thing here]
A – Where did i mention age?
B – “Indeed as young as you say”Now i’m baffled my little labour -ite
A. You didn’t in this post…….what’s your problem about what we know about you?
B. Are you as young as you say?
My politics are just right of Genghis Khan……there I’ve said it.
