We could certainly learn from the sport though about how to nurture homegrown talent and simultaneously create true competition.
We did that over 40 odd years ago, maybe more…….(the yanks cannot teach us anything)and just cast a glance over the “homegrown talent” we now have in the Premier league……. :ohmy:

I feel both your pain, however, a 180 mile round trip is hardly something I would ‘brag’ about on a public board. I have ‘suffered’ a fifteen hundred mile round trip…….and people died.

Congratulations for taking a seven word sentence from a hundred word post and using it totally out of context.In summary – the success of the town’s football team is not proportional to its perceived standing or the size of the town and catchment area. The club is far exceeding all expectations by even reaching the Premier League, let alone avoiding relegation.
Be disappointed that the team have not won, but for Christ’s sake booing? Get a bit of perspective.
