I like the cut of your jib sir….
the others are obviously Jim Davidson fans (reasonable argument and all that).
;)
26th April 2010West Ham joint-chairman David Gold hopes manager Gianfranco Zola will remain at Upton Park next season.
“I am desperately hoping he will stay but there is work to do,” Gold told BBC Radio 5 live.”
11 May
West Ham have sacked manager Gianfranco Zola after less than two years in charge at Upton Park.
“PM Neville Chamberlain arrived back in the UK today, holding an agreement signed by Adolf Hitler which stated the German leader’s desire never to go to war with Britain again.”
I think you know the rest………………
Bl00dy semantics………….just like the ‘guff’ spouted in the ‘Spot the difference’ thread.
Ronseal time – did exactly what it said on the tin. No more – no less
why would you report someone for calling you a gimp (it’s a throw away baseless insult on a message board). it’s meangingless really so reporting some one to admin because they called you a name is akin to telling teacher at junior school. or perhaps i am missing something here?
You,ve hit the nail on the head! ;)
As we know……. this has to be ‘his’ worst ‘collective’ persona in recent times..
Yeah, I’d love it too but it’s called an opinion and judging by Chelsea’s recent form and what they’re capable of and judging by our recent form and what we’re capable of, he might just be right.Nowt like a bit of siege mentality gone bananas is there?
That’s what I love about ‘opinions’………..we all have one, there is no right one; there is no wrong one…………….
they are just separated by the flawed ones.
I am always invigorated by the self-righteous. Those that regale us with their bu115it opinions as if it’s “a given” and we must bow down. If we lose tomorrow then so be it, however, on our day we too can produce a massive “team effort”………………ermmm called me old fashioned but wasn’t it 3-1 at our place?
Look…….if we lose, so be it but I for one won’t accept ‘trolling’. This is a forum for fans (and those who know stuff).
If I’m not a proper fan then I’m a banana.
You strike me as the type of person that laughs at people falling over in programmes like ‘Monty Python’
[link2:38hzpegc]Love This,http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCyr1ugzxXM&feature=related%5B/link2:38hzpegc%5D
Very slapstick…………….. :D
I have a Monty Python avatar, which highlights what I laugh at: intelligent wit.
I’m done arguing about Davidson. The kind of person that thinks he’s funny is the very same type that will not succumb to reasonable argument.
Fair Do’s fella..
My box set of Monty Python is one of my pride and joys……
:)
Pessimism and realism are two different things. I think I’m being realistic when I say what I say. I don’t think the clubs achievements can be and haven’t been bigged up nearly enough, it’s an amazing story, but nothing lasts forever.I sincerely hope we stay in the top league but I still don’t see us as being the sort of club who can attract players who can get us to being a regular mid-table team.
Fortunately for me, my life doesn’t begin and end with WAFC so whatever happens, I won’t be losing that much sleep. Maybe that’s why I can be an eternal realist rather than an eternal optimist.
You’re right…….pessimism and realism are indeed two different things. I pity the gloomy distrustfull cynics of this world for they shall have a short life (one filled with stress and angst) and although I admire the ‘realist’ approach it would depend upon who’s real world one lives (the Mittyesque character in James Thurbers short story is testament to this – I do not, for an instance, compare you to this character). On this I feel we have to agree to disagree.
For me too, there are more important things in my life other than WAFC, however, when talking, thinking, going to see my team I will remain that eternal optimist ( and hopefully live a long and happy (ier) life).
Long may our success and presence in the premier league continue.

If we continue to be as well financially managed as we are now then I can see a better run than Middlesborough (11)…..when we settle we will be great. Patience is a virtue……it takes a generation to bring the crowds.
We will prevail.
I wish I could share your optimism. You’re right in the fact that it takes a generation to bring the crowds but next season’s our last in the Prem so the crowds will dwindle anyway.
Sad truth is three worse teams kept us up this season and the fact we beat three of the top four is not an indication of how far we’ve come. It’s nothing more than anomaly. We’re in decline not ascent.
The calibre of teams coming up is far better than last time around and we’re going to struggle big time. It was purgatory this season.
Ain’t it great starting a season with your highest hope being you finish 16th or thereabouts?
Well to be honest I’m thankful that I don’t share your pessimism (I’m a glass half full chap)……I also do not believe that this is our last season in the top flight – there are indeed teams around us of similar calibre – and yes although there will be the odd ‘mauling’ next time around – I feel that we have enough in us to be ahead of those teams in what has become the ‘Premiership mini-league’………I predict a finish between 10th and 12th (more than satisfactory for me and something to build on as we go into our 7th consecutive season in the premiership).
This is the talk we need………………lets get behind our team. These negative thoughts, words and actions sometimes transfer onto the pitch. Some ‘so called fans’ have even been known to boo our players (pranucks!!).
I say again…………….we will prevail.
Or………..
Baby
although I chose this lonely life
It seems it’s strangling me now
All the wild men big cigars, gigantic cars
They’re all laughing at me now.
Oh! I’ve been used oo-hoo
I’ve been taken for a fool – oh what a fool
I broke all the rules
oh yeah
But I won’t let the show go on.8-)
And for you doubters….
[link2:kusjigb7]WOW,http://www.fakebritbabes.co.uk/v/celebrity_fakes_005/vorderman/carol-vorderman-0122.jpg.html?%5B/link2:kusjigb7%5D
Think again………
Why is he? He was sound, actually.
Listen mate, I don’t do all these modern ‘trendy’ comedians, such as Man-fat, Jimmy Carr (funny as dogmuck), and all them. They aren’t funny.
All this ‘new style’ comedy is a load of rubbish.
Racist, alcoholic, wife-beaters are seldom construed as comedic genius, unless of course it’s just good old Jim Davidson. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a square, and have nothing against playing with people’s sensitivities for comedic purposes and certain people do it well, such as Gervais, but he has the intelligence to do it with taste and subtlety rather than being a Manning mkII.
And ‘new-style’ comedy? It’s much the same you know, just less making formulaic jokes about stereotypes. Davidson panders to morons, largely because he’s one himself.
I did like Big Break though.
And the following thread renders your views on comedy void:
viewtopic.php?f=6&t=3532
Racist, alcoholic wife beaters could be applied to anyone…..George Best….Gazza……Abu Hamza…….your feckin next door neighbour.
I’m not getting you wrong ….you are indeed a square. Gervais is as funny as a kick in the nuts (and bad teeth to boot). I watched his stand up (at the insistance of my son) and concluded that he is indeed a t1t. Frankie Boyle, Lee Mack, even McIntyre (and don’t get me started on the Spanish Inquisition) are funnier than the current nouveau pseudo pollitically incorrect university dropouts we currently have to suffer. Mitchell and Webb……..BBC1 after 11pm WTF is that all about.
You strike me as the type of person that laughs at people falling over in programmes like ‘you’ve been framed’
Very slapstick…………….. :?

I saw Jim Davidson a few years ago. He was good. Didn’t pull any punches, but he was pretty much same as on TV.I agree VAT…seen him three times now live and he is as funny as f$ck. However, first time I saw him had great seats near front when in came young ‘johnny’ with his gran sat in front of us and said “just like he is on the telly”……………..I couldn’t contain myself.
Jim would have made Blaster Bates blush…….granny nearly had an apoplectic fit.
Laugh?………I thought my pants would never dry.
I suppose they have to be older (quite a bit older) than you to quality but I also fancied Carol Vorderman. That was until she appeared on Question Time not too long ago. What an opinionated bitch she is. Toys well and truly out of the pram should anyone dare express a view different to hers.
Servicing Carol would be a nightmare. You’re doing it wrong. That’s not right. The wrong angle. Wrong tempo. Don’t do it that way, it’s not in accordance with the Second Law of Thermodynamics or something. No thanks.
Oh I don’t know Sammy….
climb on, call her ‘Trixie’ and then strap in for the ride of your life
Of course, I can say all that uncomfortable in the knowledge that it will never happen.
However, should someone knock on my door tonight in fishnets, suspenders, high-heels and a T-shirt with “Hi, I’m Trixie” across it, I’ll let you know how I get on.
Sammy…..
Trixie is her sisters name………………the same rule can be applied to any spouse/partner/pick-up.
Unfortunately Mrs Micky is wise to my ruse now……..
Not until……….

you should know better than that [s:1geay3hp]dave[/s:1geay3hp] erm Jimmy
;)
carol vorderman now theres a cracker had many a wet dream over her
