Whats with Ben Watson’s passing ??? Pass completion rate cant have been more than 5% !! Yeah he runs around and is keen but if you cant pass a ball when playing in that position then its a waste of time !

Yeah, I think Watson was shocking today. SkySports named him man of the match..? :?
Thought Watson was very good today always wanted the ball, willing runner going back and forward will put a tackle in, every pass didnt hit the mark no, but if someone in front of him would make a run when he has the ball it would help to give him a few more options. At least every time he gets the ball he’s not throwing himself on the floor.
He wasted the ball 4 times on the edge of the box (3 in the 1st half, 1 in the 2nd) although his corners and free-kicks were much improved from the one’s against Blackpool.

I hope we get Koumas back in January so he can replace Ben Watson and James McCarthy in the team when needed.

He doesn’t even start for Cardiff either :!:

When they got the 1st, I was already feeling as it would be Blackpool all over again, but the courage and passion shown today was much much better.

I know almost every Latics fan would like Bobby to succeed as manager of Wigan Atheltic and when the going gets tough, the fans get going. Stoke are now unbeaten in 5 – so getting a point isn’t that much of a diserpoitment for me to be honest. :geek:

Where I sit, the people above me in WS3 (row Y upwards !) are so negative. In injury time they were all calling for Alcey’s head when he didn’t wack the ball up for Boselli to compete for.

I think Di Santo and McManaman should of been brought on for Watson and Boselli late on – but that’s just me :P

Come on then kids, lets pile in to Everton next week and battle out our 1st win their for 5 years. :)

I look forward to seeing the standard of football played in the 50 degrees celsius heat of Qatar in late June

…. and in Russia which will be minus every day

What amazes me is that all these people who call Bob useless are they only ones who really believes that he really believes what he says on Sky Sports.

And people wonder why they call Wiganers thick

He’s very good at making himself, in every situation, the ‘victimised’ but not always directly referring to the clubs misfortunes.

Eg. he never wants to talk about referee’s performances, but makes sure everyone watching knows theirs been bad decisions made by the ref.

If a reporter said to him after the West Ham game “Yes Roberto, you say this is below your normal sandard – what is that exactly” .. he would reply with …… “In a way, sometimes things don’t go your way, I don’t like to talk about referee’s”. He’s a nutter !

Also; I know this great man who wears those class shoes and has a special connection with the fans is more than he seems. He doesn’t have the balls to sack staff or tell players to go find a club. Brenda did all that in June – July then was handed to Matt “I’m not playing for Wigan in masters football” Jackson. Since Jewell left, the club has gone downhill, but luckily not as steep of a hill as other clubs.

Don’t ask how I know, just assume it’s true ;)

His insistance to call N’Zogbia Charlie Boy throughout the game pees me off

I listened to it for the Hartlepool game in the Cup and midway through the game he started to describe the surroundings of the stadium for some reason.

It was dangerous last year with the skating rink by the side of JJB sports

Hull City in the FA Cup last year … that Saturday was extremely bad for ice. Pity the papers didn’t say that when the crowd for that day was $lagged off.

Should be no problem with the game going ahead today unless it starts snowing again.

The attendance will be lower than usual though.

Now just think if we had got the 6 points from the 2 games, even you admit we should have won, then we would be in a league position that everyone, including you, would be satisfied with at the end of the season. [14th]

However, you would probably still be moaning that the fekin pies are too hot or the stewards coats are too bright.

It just so happens that I feel we should be about 7-8 points better off for the performances this season.[IMHO]
Its all about consistency now, not formations, tactics etc.
We have shown this season that we can compete with and beat the best, we have also shown, too often that when we are bad, we are really, really bad.

I for one will continue to believe that the consistency will come and that Bobby will get there. If you and others don’t then that’s your opinion. It’s a Wigan Athletic passion thing with me that’s been there since non-league days and will still be with me when Bobby’s moved to better things or been forced out. I love my team not the manger or players, they come and go like the white stuff falling outside.

When we win or play well I don’t come on trying to say that you’re wrong and Bobby is the bees knees, I suggest you to do the same when we lose and play bad. That’s football sunshine, live with it or go and watch crown green bowling or summut.

i suggest you read a book by john irving called the world according to garp – but seeing as you are not very bright they turned into a film for the less literary minded, but take it from me it does lose something in the hollywood adaptation,

i said we were the better team and played well in the games against bolton and liverpool and deserved more -which you misquote me by saying i thought we should have won – you then drift off into a fantasy world, like garp tends to do ,and omit the fact that i ALSO said we got more out of the wolves and wba games than we deserved, you can also add the fact that spurs did everything but score against us which was perhaps another fortuitous 3 points but that again is speculating.
we are were we are in the league because we are crap, results lucky or unlucky balance themselves out and the worst team is always bottom and from what everybody else, press, pundits, other teams fans and many of our own fans think we are certainly close runners for that worst tag,and that is down to martinez.
I suggest you start using capital letters your message is not getting through
YES !

I’ll sum this up for everyone …. if we sell Charles (speaking in Graham Lovett speak) and no replacement is found were going …..

Graham Lovett pronounces Alcaraz (like my grandad) as Alcatraz.

The commentry is very poor from Lovett “and the team” even though he’s pretty funny on occasion.

Bring in Paul Jewell to do the commentry :)

A couple of weeks ago I was asked by someone who has contacts within the club and had seen my constant anti Martinez posts on here if I would like the opportunity to put a selection of written questions directly (via this contact) to Roberto Martinez at an up- coming meeting between him and a selection of the press and message board representatives.

Originally I agreed to do so and wrote a number of my concerns with the intention of sending them to the intermediary, but when I thought about it I decided not to, partly out of respect for the part Martinez played in our recent history and also I really thought it would be counter – productive at a time of low morale and despite my rants on here I would love to be proved wrong in my belief that he is not up to the task he has been appointed to do.

I also believe, and have voiced this opinion before on here, that Whelan took a calculated decision when he appointed Martinez and he would become the sacrificial lamb.
David Whelan was in a no lose situation, when he began downsizing WAFC and preparing for his ultimate exit – in Roberto he had given the people their champion and all the blame when things started to go wrong would not come knocking on his door, and this is why I feel sorry for Martinez and decided to not try and rock the boat so to speak.

If the person who originally offered me the opportunity to ask some questions does happen to read this post I would like one question passed on if it is not too late, despite all the things I have just said it is one that I feel is needed and a burning question that I feel everybody, even his loyalist defenders wants to ask.

Roberto do you find it acceptable that we can play a full 90 + minutes of football without making the opposition goal keeper make a save of any significance as is happening more and more with your set up and how your teams play ?

We have a squad capable of a Top 10 finish, but the depth isn’t there and neither is the belief.

Bet the players (and Bobby) are chuffed with 2-0. Well, I can’t say I’m downhearted either.

Saturday, a new day.
Stoke, a new opposition.

Make the DW ‘rock’ as always [giggle] when Stoke come on Saturday.
