End of season report on BBC website ……
Ten things we learned from 2013/14 season.
No 8 is a good one.
Some people recognised Roberto’s qualities while he was here.
Some have been converted this season.
Those in denial can be found on this thread.
Not saying McArthur won’t go to em but £2.5mill is not beyond the budget of Everton if that is the asking priceIf Everton sign Barry, under the terms of the loan contract, they will have to pay City £2.5 million, which they could indeed afford.
But if another club signs Barry, it will be on a free transfer, in which case Barry will be likely to get the £2.5 million himself in higher wages.
So, although he has had a good season, Barry is likely to be attracted to another club. McArthur is obviously a possible replacement.
McArthur has shown great responsibility under Rosler.
Everton will have to pay £2.5 million to sign Barry permanently, so he is likely to go elsewhere.
I’d say McArthur is likely to resume his midfield partnership with McCarthy.
You’re confusing Tin Man and Cowardly Lion.
It’s been a long season – it’s time for a rest.
Of course! I’ll have to think about it.
It could even be;
Que sera, sera
Whatever will be, will be
We’re going to PNE
Que sera, seraEnjoy the World Cup!
Bad luck, Wigan. A disappointing end to a long season.
And we’ll be going to Barnsley once again.
Without a centre forward, Wigan have no way of relieving the pressure.
They couldn’t stand 80 minutes of pressure from QPR.
Now it’s extra time and Wigan are losing 2-1. It’s going to be very difficult to get back into the game.
James Perch!
Now QPR will have to come out.
Wigan line up without a striker:
Carson
Boyce, Caldwell, Kiernan
Perch, McArthur, Gomez, Maloney, Beausejour
McManaman, McCleanWe’ve played without a striker before, but usually with Powell in the team. McClean hasn’t Powell’s awareness of others. This looks a desperate measure!
QPR play two strikers:
Green
Simpson, Onuoha, Dunne, Hill
Hoilett, Barton, Kranjcar, O’Neil
Austin, DoylePerhaps QPR will be confused by Wigan’s line up! Given possession, McManaman and McClean could pull Dunne and Hill out of position, I suppose.
Worse, he’s already been caught out on a bender. The BBC reports;
Wigan may be without top scorer Nick Powell tonight after he pleaded guilty to drink driving at Crewe Magistrates.
The on-loan Manchester United man has been handed a 14-month driving ban and ordered to pay a £5,000 fine after being arrested in Crewe driving a Corsa.
Living the Manchester United dream…
A Corsa?
A shame – especially when his striking partner from Rochdale has been included.
Don’t worry – they have made up.
PS Thanks Roberto for taking time to have your photo took with my grandson last night before the match.QPR have a big squad, which includes much better goal scorers than ours; Austin, Doyle, Zamora and more – but they can’t play them all.
There was little excitement on Friday, and the two teams were broadly even. I would say that Wigan, with better movement, had the slight edge.
I’m sure that QPR have a lot more to offer in attack. But, as others have said, if they do attack, they will leave opportunities for counter attacks.
I expect another close game which Wigan can win.
I hope everyone comes home happy. We can talk about Derby later.
We’re both still here, aren’t we?
Thank you, I’m sure that we’ve both contributed what we can to Bottom Four Bob.
I think we’ve all contributed what we can.
I wouldn’t claim my contribution is any bigger than the Bobsessives’.
