I think it would have been good for the player to go to his level ie the championship. He is a good player at that level.
We need goals desperately from now on. We have chanced it with 1 and a half strikers all season, we would have to be really unlucky to struggle with three strikers now.
The parallels with the Canvey Island game are striking.
Lets just hope that last nights game is the catalyst that Roberto needs to bring home to him how much work he and the squad are going to have to put in and move forward, just as the Canvey Island game was for Jewell.
I was concerned about Scotlands abilities at this level at the start of the season, and now I know I was right to be. He should have gone to Barnsley.
4 5 1 at home to a lower league team, is poor. Our midfield at times were falling over each other and lacked a quality pass into the final third. Mind you even if they did find that pass the likelihood of anything coming from it was negligable.
If we survive, and that game in hand against Bolton is a massive game for us, I fear it’s time for a big clear out and rebuild again. Will we ever have any sustained stability?
What a poor choice of user name…Yosser Hughes….at least that bloke wanted to work, you’re so lazy, I’m surprised you can be bothered breathing!
Oh the gate was 5,500 ish. Really crap, and County brought a decent turn out for a midweek game, but 2,500 I don’t think so!
I would hardly call our opponents tonight Beech Hill Utd, btw. They were a good solid unit over two full games and thoroughly deserved their win.
Many of our fans would do well to remember that football is a sport, anything can happen. Just like when we beat Man City in the league cup when we were a lower league team.
And my final word on the gate, we as a club must have the crapest fans in the world. Too many expect the players to break their balls on the pitch, when they can’t even be arsed turning up. It’s a two way thing you know.
The only thing I am laughing at tonight is the Wigan public.
Up the Tics!
Lets get a couple of things right….I look quite nice in a dress and I won’t pay for Tyldsley. 8-)
Okay, so far nobody other than Logic has fallen into the group of fans I am on about. And we all know Logic is just a tool.
RS, I still think it would be a poor do if County got more on at their place than we do at ours tonight, imho.
Who wants to stand up and be counted as falling into the “could go, but can’t be arsed going” group….come on I know your out there!
Sorry you have wasted your time writing all that Tyldsley, you don’t really seem to be fitting into the group of fans I am reffering to, ie “Can’t be arsed going”.
I really can’t make it any plainer than that about the ones I am sniping at!

The message is simple…if you can, get behind the team at the stadium tonight!!
Good on you Alex, but please don’t bury your head in the sand. I’m talking about the many fans I have spoken to who don’t have an excuse, could make the game, but just won’t be going tonight. There are loads of them!
You have totally missed the point Tyldesley…..I am talking about folk with no excuse, if someone has a genuine reason fine.
I’d rather watch Palace vs Wolves on the tele if thats ok with you sunshine.
Not really Murph Dog, not if you claim to be a Latics mon and could attend the game tonight, and have no real excuse other than you want to stay in and watch the box! No doubt you would be at Wembley should we get there!
RJ…..It’s the FA cup, even the top 4 want this cup!
The club have done a lot of hard work behind the scenes recently not only signing players, but by the looks of it trying to get good players to stay here. A small gate tonight would be like a slap in the face for them….
I’m quite surprised at the lenghts the police seem to have gone to in arresting people involved in trouble between Man City and United, the man in the street these days just seems to get given a crime number if something happens to them. High profile shows of strength and motorists appear to be the order of the day with the police, they are a joke these days.
Senior officers in the police over the last 15yrs or so have been moulded to fit into the succesive government regimes they work for. In other words they have been turned into “spin merchants”.
They have the attitude that it doesn’t matter what you do as long as it looks good on paper, and ticks boxes set by their paymasters.
There can be no doubt that the police should be clamping down on football hooligans and making the roads safer by prosecuting bad drivers but the basics of good Bobbying can’t be measured and therefore are being ignored.
The rank and file Copper is as pished off with whats going on as the general public, but they are shouted down when they raise these points.
£15 for adults and £5 for kids is the cheapest the club are allowed to sell tickets for. It would be worth every penny if the game is half as good as the last one.
I’ll go for 5,000 Wigan fans and about 500 County fans on for the replay.
I also predict we would get 20,000 more Wigan fans turning up at Wembley should we get there.Agent Phil Dowd could be called on again to see to it that it’s a Chelski Man Citee final.
Bont say up the tics…………………
Errm I have given your request some thought and decided I shall continue to say Up the Tics whenever I want…
Just one little request from me…try adding something interesting to the board, just once please.
Many thank
Up the Tics!
What a great cup tie that was….
A great old ground and exciting game to boot.
Unfortunatly it just shows that yet again we haven’t got the squad right as of yet and Roberto has a lot of work to do over this transfer window and maybe a couple of others.
Things looked up when Amaya was subbed, sorry but having seen him play several times now I think we should have left him on the beach at Blackpool with the other donkeys. He has the touch of a rapist and needs 10 minutes to decide what to do with the ball.
I was disappointed with Sinclair today, I thought he might pull his tripes out to get more of a game in future, but he didn’t. He is easy to get rid of come Summer.
Well played County, reminded me alot of us a few seasons back.
Just a couple of gripes, knock another door through in the lavs to avoid people queing to get out, I needed another slash by the time I had got back onto the concourse, oh and 5 watts really isn’t enough power for a stadium tannoy.
Up the tics.
I don’t know if this is just paper talk, but if it isn’t it seems like a load of dosh for a Spanish championship player, who has struggled to push into the first team!
Roberto must have a lot of faith in the lad, because if we end up paying 5 million, and I can’t see them letting him go without recouping their outlay, and he doesn’t work out…….
One thing is for certain Latics can’t afford to pay that much for a player who will need a season being nurtured into the team, he will have to hit the ground running imho.
Up the tics!
