If they do retrospectively ban him, it will just confirm the corruption in this league…why ban for a momentary rush of blood by a young player, causing a mistimed challenge, when they didn’t ban Rooney for a premeditated off the ball punch to McCarthy a couple of seasons back?

We needed a bit more from the more senior players on the pitch but it wasnt to be.
Bournemouth were always going to be a good well orgainised team, their run of form clearly shows this. But our young team did quite well against them.
I hope Bob will risk a few more senior players next time out at Bournemouth, and then maybe go back to the young uns to try and beat Maccelsfield and get past that elusive FA cup 4th round jinx we seem to have.
A few tough decisions for Bob to make…survival is the main aim, but a nice cup run might be good for morale, for the team and the fans.”
Now I know that was the FA Cup and not a league match, but please dont accuse me of being completely negative all the time, because I am not. The Sunderland 1st half performance was dire, and imho the only reason we played better in the second is because they took their foot off the gas. We currently look like a team that’s been punching above it’s weight for far too long. That’s what I think and if/when that improves I’ll post something positive.

A jolly good boo was on the tip of my tongue at HT but I somehow managed to resist it.
We had their box loaded up several times and instead of getting the ball into the area we decided to play it back and sideways and back again until we eventually lost possession…. :angry:
We had seen in the first few minutes that they were un organised and nervy at the back when they scored the own goal…???
Nice one Roberto….could this be the first time since we joined the premier league that we have some sort of stability and continuity going into the start of a new season?

Yep he must wish he could turn the clock back…..but in fairness to him in his post match interview he came across very gracious in defeat. Loads of praise for the Latics.
When one of the flares hit my son and another landed at my feet I remember thinking oh I hope the stewards and police aren’t too harsh on the young chaps who threw them.
And then when I saw one of the young chaps at the back waving a flare around and then lash it 10 rows down into a tightly packed lower tier of Latics fans, only to be approached by the police and stewards, and then for a large group of other young chaps to fight with the police and stewards to prevent his apprehension, I recall thinking as the bully boy police and stewards eventually dragged him out I really hope they are just going to sit him down and have a little chat to him.
Well played Latics I think. It’s quite difficult taking in the game when you are trying to stop your kin being injured.

Hey Old Wolf……I know it was only paper talk but rumours of a 4 million offer for Hugo……oh dear Whelan will be livid when Summer comes and we get fook all for the useless greedy twot. :ohmy:
The same goes for Moses, Diame and Mcarthy, and dare I say it Ali, come Summer, all will be going on strike trying to force a move to one of the promoted clubs for buttons.
Several Million for these players now would have steadied the ship and funded us a bit of a push for a decent season next season….not to be now.
