..just another reason for 99.9% of them with short memories to hate the man who saved them from being about as big as St Pats
Why not, football in the sun….just imagine trips to Barcelona, Real Madrid etc and it all topped off with a pre-season tour including games at Bolton, Leigh, Skelmersdale and St Helens
Given the choice I’d sooner both teams have good rather than bad seasons, simply because it would mean we’re doing well. Whatever we’re up to, the eggmen making a mess of things is just a bonus, main thing is we go onwards and upwards.
I’d look forward to him taking the mick out of carthorses like that Wilkinson at Stoke etc.
I think our league has the better strength in depth than the Spanish league, but at the very top, the Spanish league probably has the edge. Ironically, if it hadn’t been for an inspirational display by a Spanish goalkeeper, Barcelona would have been at least 6 up at half time in the first leg
No, in a bid to improve the standard of referring this season, I reckon Brooking will recommend a trial with celebrity referees, who will be given a trial of 3 games. The first one will be a Mr Raymond Winstone who will be referring at Upton Park for his 3 games, from this weekend. In addition, he will be assisted by ex-players running the line to help him out, the first 2 being Tony Cottee and Paulo Di Canio.
That’s the insurance policy
Think the nailed on penalty for Everton was nothing to do with a West Ham conspiracy, rather yet another example of the shocking referring standards that the Premier League is suffering this season. Yes, the officials are only human but some of the obvious decisions that teams have been on the end of have been terrible.
The point I was making about having a centre half *shouting at them was the general point that having Bruce leading the training seemed to prove beneficial for our defenders, that know-how that Bruce brings with him was a great benefit and maybe we need a specialist coach in to work with our back 4.
*Perhaps shouting was the wrong word, but the advice and guidance of someone like Bruce would surely be invaluable.
I don’t think the zonal defending system helps, never understood why managers use it. Other than not having a centre half shouting at them every day, I really don’t know what’s the excuse for some of our defending.
We can criticize Martinez all we want, but no one can tell me that he coaches an Austrian intnernational, an ex Dutch international and an ex U21 interntional to make the basic errors those 3 made yesterday….with that and other appalling pieces of defending this season, I think its time our back 4 took long looks at themselves and questioned what they have been doing for the majority of the season.
Change the record Loudmouth….the thread was about McArthur, no mention of the manager and still you have a go at him. We all know you don’t rate him (maybe even hate him), but using threads where he’s not mentioned to have a go at him is pathetic
I’m just waiting for one of the Deluded Ones to mention “we’ll be challenging for a Champions League spot next season”
pski….you can’t be serious in saying that we should have complained about Fulham’s team v Hull? I’d be embarrassed if we had, what West Ham have done is a disgrace…they should accept they are in a relegation fight and get on with it, not go squealing to the authorities.
Sad, but typical…..must be a Wigan thing
Agree totally about Scharner, he should never play for us again. If he wants to move to Fulham, he should have completely blown that yesterday, he was schocking. I reckon he found more Fulham shirts yesterday than he will do in any game he might play for them next season. Finally, him giving it the Pele/Maradona/Messi and messing about cost us a goal…..absolutely ridiculous and Mario was no better for giving them possession which led to the corner for the 2nd one.
It might be a boring post, but as far as some of our so-called fans go, its spot on.
