Thats a big increase, but its still only about £8 a game, which isn’t bad. Where the club lets the kids down is the matchday prices which I believe are quite expensive (although I may be wrong).
Some of the bone-idle gits who pretend to support our club from the pubs and clubs of Wigan on a Saturday should read that Northern……and be thoroughly embarrassed to call themselves Wigan fans
“Everyone goes on about us having the ‘best deal’ in the Premiership for fans. But I disagree”….do me a favour, yes Blackburn’s this season are cheaper than us, but we’ve had ST’s available at £13-£15 a game for 3 seasons now. You’re right about the prices for older kids, they should be cheaper, but no adult can have any complaint about being able to pay £13ish a game…..and before anyone says “but what about £30 for Utd etc, we actually play 19 home games a season not 4.
Don’t be daft, they’re too scared of Taggart, if Utd get banned from signings it will be between the hours of midnight and 6 am or something.
Almost certainly the obsessed ramblings of someone with a personal vendetta against Whelan, just happens to be using WAFC as a stick to beat Whelan with.
5 September 2009 at 3:09 am in reply to: It looks like both clubs are struggling to get bums on seats #8075I’ll wager that the real number of paying speccies was less than 11k, in fact I bet there were closer to 11,000 people actually in the stands (including freebies) than the gate they announced
First post on here = nail hit on head, absolutely superbly put
So Mutty’s presumably quite proud of those attendance figures during the late 80’s/early 90’s. Lets remember they were the only full-time club for most of them, spent fortunes on players, won virtually every game for 10 years and still couldn’t average 15,000….even allowing for games when 5-10,000 Saints/Widnes fans turned up.
Now they just make up the attendances as they go along….however, the point should be made that if only a combination of around 30K, (even allowing for dodgy WRLFC counting) watch both teams then its a poor show by the people of our town
£38k a week for King??? Christ almighty, thats roughly about £37,900 more than he’s worth in the PL. His agent must be the same genius that got Spurs to pay Bent £93k a week
there showing it at goodison
I agree, Whelan out…..to be replaced by? Maybe we could find a local businessman to take us over and invest his money, whoever who owns Crusader Cabs or Wallpaper Supplies or one of our coach companies.
Aye, its great calling for Whelan’s head, lets find a bloke who’s got £20K in the bank to run the club…..we’d get really far then.
Don’t know what BobbysWigan personal vendetta against Whelan is all about, thats his business, but christ its boring
Zaki….there are eggchasers who show us more respect than him, he should never, be allowed to wear a Wigan Athletic shirt again
Bolton…do me a favour? Bearing in mind that Agent Megson paid something like £10m for that useless Elmander, I’d want £35m at least for Rodellega
Sounds like the trouble inside the ground was mainly West Ham….should be banning orders/fines etc aots.
Course, WHU will get away with it, clever Trevor and all that.
Webster???? He wouldn’t have got in our 1997 Championship side, I bet Cribley now is quicker than him.
