Like i said trying put a posative spin on coyle taking over,he isnt my 1st choice and there is a lot of negativity, so the 9-1 tonking we got of spurs and the spanking we go of chelski and any other you can think of,made us a laughing stock, SO can you recall any tonking of that extent that any teams coyle as managed
So, despite what you said, you are comparing Coyle with Martinez after all! These comparisons are ridiculous.
Anyway, it’s not the size of the defeats that matters, it’s the number of them. But, since you keep on about it, Coyle’s teams have shipped plenty of goals in recent seasons.
You’ll remember that Coyle left a sinking ship at Burnley, that Bolton were relegated under him, and that he was sacked the next season because of poor results in the Championship.
2009/10 Burnley lost 5-0 at Tottenham and 5-3 at West Ham. Coyle abandoned Burnley before the big home defeat, 6-1 to Manchester City, but I’d say it was still his team.
2009/10 Bolton lost 4-0 at home to Manchester United.
2010/11 Bolton lost 4-0 at home to Chelsea.
2010/11 FA Cup semifinal Bolton lost 5-0 to Stoke.
2011/12 Bolton lost 5-0 at home to Manchester United and 5-1 at home to Manchester City.
You are really giving me headache now,i have never mentioned martinez, now perhaps its just me but you are missing my point completly.
Lot of negativity towards coyle.
not my 1st choice.
You yourself seem to have a problem with his appointment because you keep pumping all these past score lines out.
Dont see any 9-1 score lines there.
My point IT CANT GET ANY WORSE
GIVE THE BLOKE A CHANCE
Oh and by the way looking at the stats you keep coming up with it is you who is comparing the 2,i only mention 1 score line ;)wot when we got boselli
Were did i COMPARE MARTINEZ WITH COYLE, Read my 1st post “cant remember any of coyles teams getting dicked 9-1”
My apologies, aceface. You didn’t mention Martinez at all.
9-1 is an uncommon score. Foolishly, I took it as a reference to the 9-1 defeat suffered by Martinez’ team against Spurs at White Hart Lane on 22 November 2009.
I thought that you were implying that Coyle at Bolton had a better defensive record than Martinez at Wigan, something we know is not true;
Coyle 2011/12 18 Bolton Wanderers (R) 38 10 6 22 46 77 Goal difference −31 36
Martinez 2012/13 18 Wigan Athletic (R) 38 9 9 20 47 73 Goal difference –26 36You obviously had a completely different message in mind. Would you like to tell us what it was?
cant remember any of coyles teams getting dicked 9-1
Despite that, Wigan finished this season with a better goal difference than Bolton last season. So Bolton must have let some goals in somewhere.
Coyle 2011/12 18 Bolton Wanderers (R) 38 10 6 22 46 77 −31 36
Martinez 2012/13 18 Wigan Athletic (R) 38 9 9 20 47 73 –26 36Oh – and Martinez won the Cup too.
Stop whingeing about Roberto. He’s gone – Owen is here now. Let’s move on.
What are you on about? 1) i am not whingeing about bobby,2)Comparisons are being drawn between bob and coyle,i am puting a posative spin on the coyle appointment. And yeah he did win the cup BUT he also got us relegated,so please dont keep wheeling he won the cup out.I was one of bobs biggest supporters but i did have my moments,i will be forever greatfull to him for the f.a cup win.
So you stop whinging (as you put it) about coyle and his time at bolton
Toneat matthew i will be singing in the breezeblock changing room :evil:cant remember any of coyles teams getting dicked 9-1

Year on Year rolling contract What is Whelan thinking of !!!!!!!
Same as always, Himself and money.
Hang on lets give him a 4yr contract, and like some on here are saying if its going tits up after 10-15 games we can get shut, so is it to be 12mths pay out or 4yrs payout money we havent got for things like that :pinch:tight fisted git.poyet, better football, got brighton in top 6, but yet again lets do it on the cheap.it doesn’t work,as has been proved by relegation, you get what you pay for.can see a lot of players leaving with this guy coming in.Were you interviewing with DW,if not how do you know poyet was interviewed
key injurys to 1st team players, getting beat by crawley in the cup eeeerrrr did you forget us been beat by bradford or canvey island, that old saying when things arnt going well for you………..and winning breeds confidance, its easy to stick the knife in when things arnt going right. From what i saw there was no real back from fartside
everton have been sniffing round McCarthy since last transfer window, and this came from a very good source, who also told me something else thats happenend today about everton selling there training ground to raise funds
You’re not serious are you Ace? Selling the training ground? So what are they going to do, book a pitch at the local Soccerdome? ;)
The Everton selling their training ground story wasn’t exactly a scoop. It was confirmed yesterday in the Liverpool papers and websites. Sold to the council for £12, and Everton rent it back off them.
I take it back then Ace, sorry. Having said that, £12m, less the rent, ain’t no war chest, is it?
The council could be giving them a very generously discounted rent, maybe picking up the rates bill themselves, all kinds of ‘incentives’ are possible/probable. Just look at the way some continental teams are funded.
Even so, for a club of their supposed stature, it amounts to little more than coppering up when the window cleaner turns up.
We all know everton are on a tight budget, but from what i have been told its a lot worse than people thinkeverton have been sniffing round McCarthy since last transfer window, and this came from a very good source, who also told me something else thats happenend today about everton selling there training ground to raise funds
