5pm tonight i would imagine me self

I know it’s 5pm friday to be eligible to play saturday BUT I wasn’t sure if it was different with a midweek game due to it being a late kick off.

Don’t you think that Sky’s constant ramblings about attendences is in my opinion lately targeted at the FA Cup a competition that they are not allowed to bid for ?
I notice they havn’t been going on about attendences in the Prem not even ours .

Yes, but they mention us only getting 5,000 on (fall of 13,000 off our average) but they don’t mention the low attendances for the other clubs (bigger clubs) – not as much as ours anyway.

I love the criticism though, when BBC, etc get on our backs it makes me smile and to think we’re annoying them which, like it or not us being in the prem does is just fantastic!

Brilliant Faz, brilliant.

Football since ‘Football Factory’ and ‘Green Sheet’ is awash with wannabe Danny Dyer’s. F*ck off and get outta town! You’re making a joke out of yourselves. The way you described what happened to those Liverpool fans, was with such gusto. I bet when there was a scrap in your school you ran about shouting “Fight! Fight! Fight!”, didn’t you, Alex? See, the thing is, apart from a few ‘die-hards’ who should know better, hooliganism is dead and buried. These days, all the snidey Stone Island gang actually use Police shields to HIDE behind. That trouble at West Ham V Millwall, was to settle old scores. The old blokes came out….but even that was invaded by ‘wannabes’. The old boys have done the crime, done the time, and have had the books out of it. Full time. People go to Old Trafford, etc these days and it’s like a carnival. All nationalities walking about with ‘Megastore’ bags. At Anfield, last time I went, the queue for the store was longer than any for the stands. Yet I recall as late as 1992, I was outside Anfield with some mates, there was a game on, we didn’t go, and it was Liverpool V Chelsea. The area around Goodison was moody as anything upto the 90’s as well. It was no place for the lighthearted. It really pi**es the old-boys off when they see the gimps of today giving it ‘large’ in their £600 coat. Then they are going home to their mum and dads plush semi. It’s a joke.

But, for the sake of the game, the authorities got a grip of things, even putting an overkill on it with large Policing operations, and the advent of CCTV and improved intelligence. It became increasingly harder to be involved in organised violence. As soon as any group would gather….the riot squad would arrive.
But it’s a GOOD thing. Why? Because we live in a civilized society. We aren’t animals (most of us) we aren’t thugs (most of us), we just want to watch the game. Yes, support our team with passion. But why do we have to kick seven lumps of s*it out of opposition fans to do that? In the past it was more territorial, determined by national headlines (strikes, etc) and economic failings of the nation. (United & Liverpool originates from years ago and the perceived bypassing of Liverpool trade down the Manchester ship canal)
If we were to operate by those same guidelines, we’d all be ganging up on Poles and other immigrants, wouldn’t we? But that would be deemed Racist, to target someone because of their nationality, faith, or perceived belonging, wouldn’t it? So why wouldn’t picking on somone because of their choice of football loyalty? Is that not being Racist, as well?

These people who swan about now acting the big ‘I am’….just scumbags. Everybody should just turn on them. They’d be the first to disappear if we ever do go down. ES2 Massive? Ha Ha!!! What a joke. Swing a few digs at a daft scouser who’s been silly. Really impressive, that.
A lot of the gimps who have latched onto us, are one major reason why I don’t go away anymore. It’s embarrassing.

Mixed stands? Fair play to Fulham. But then again, apart from Chelsea, I don’t think they have anybody who really dislike them or are rivals. I’d like to see it at all grounds, but I don’t know if it will happen. At grounds such as United and Liverpool, any ‘pay in’ on the day seats will surely go to the tourists.

Also, regarding falling attendances, I am sick of Sky Sports making a song and dance over the declining figures. Do they not realise that most of the problems and faults in todays game were engineered by THEMSELVES? I mean, if they didn’t show as many matches on television, the only way to watch the game would be to go to the match. Their saturation coverage is killing the game. I wish they’d go carumbas up.

ALEX- I do actually think anybody sitting in the opposition end should actually ‘sit on their hands’, so to speak. You can guarantee at least one person will have a go at you if you open your mouth, if not a few. Therem we agree on something! And no, I’m NOT a scouser. Thanks.

I just read the last part as that is one hell of a read (you have way too much time on your hands!!), my posts were simply to get a reaction (see my last post). I know the hooligan wannabe’s and they make me laugh as much as they make you laugh, I sit behind a young lad who gives it none stop to away fans and does a silly gesture with his little finger (as if to say the away fans have small willies I think). All I can think is that if a fan from the away end came for him he’d sh*t himself. Lets get 1 thing straight, i’m no wannabe hooligan, had my fair share of football scraps but never been one to go for trouble, always followed Wigan and always will.

… fingers crossed JR will be the next player in and i’d like to see Leon Britton, small firey midfielder…

Seriously, have you ever considered the merits of any player you haven’t previously seen quoted in the press gossip columns?

And, honestly, how many times I have you seen Leon Britton play?
I have seen Leon play a few times as I always followed Swansea when they were live on tv and always looked out for their results, etc due to Roberto being the manager. I haven’t watched him week in week out but have seen enough of him to tell you he is a good little player who is a very keen tackler, similar to Brown and Cattermole who some people on here claim we miss.

Also, having seen the column in the NOTW over the weekend regarding JR I was hoping this would come off but if Rooney, Drogba or Tevez are available (3 who we haven’t been linked with) I would gladly encourage Roberto to switch his targets ;)

Alex you sound like a typical toddler.net small minded idiot!

People like you are the reason why i try to stay away from this board now just because you watch the team doesnt give you the right to disrespect the longstanding supporters or in fact the new ones. Il accept any fan new or old!

If you listen to accents in the ground you will find many supporters of Wigan Athletic have a slight scouse twang. In fact you will find that the real Wigan accent is a dying breed. As for having the worst accent youll find that around the world its very well thought of thanks to the Beatles and such like.

This is coming from a born and bred wiganer proud of coming from abram. The scousers could say we are all inbred woolybacks that chase eggs and sound like we are retarded (try listening to a proper wigan accent on the radio or tv and youll see what i mean). Would you expect Wiganers to react?

Where do you sit then? Are you part of the Es2 massive that seems to have jumped on the Bandwagon since we made it to the prem?

Ive actually been on the other side of this when i came to a corprate do at latics with some work colleagues from down south that follow spurs! We were moved out of the away stand corprate for a business link meeting and had to sit in the home stand with 4/5 spurs fans. When they celebrated the goal we had idiots telling us to shut up, and threatening them even though it wasnt their choice to sit were they had the club had moved us there. I explained this to the people and they accepted it however 2 women that sit near were my season ticket is and spend the game talking about Hospital appointments demanded they were escorted out by the stewards. I explained to the stewards and the ladies why they were sat there and the stewards had been made aware but asked that they didnt celebrate. The ladys still whinge when i see them now!

Now if a club sell out its allocation and the Wigan public decide they dont want to go to a game then im all for that, however to keep idiots like you from ruining it for people the club should arrange a section they can sit. However if the club sells to other fans without doing this then your complaint should be with the club not the fans in question especially if they have kids with them.

I personally would have a mixed stand rather than let you and your jumped up little mates into a game!

How have I disrespected our own fans? I was playing a joke with Vat as from previous posts people are claiming he’s an Evertonian and by mentioning the scouse accent I was seeing if he bit which I thought he did but obviously not as he claimed to be as scouse as George Formby ( ;) haha).

As for being part of the ES2 massive, no i’m not but I support what they do (getting an atmosphere going) and I have been watching Wigan since the age of 4 when I used to sit on my dad’s shoulders whilst he stood behing the goal at Springfield.

I have sat in the home end many times when watching wigan away, including spurs actually because my mates dad is a spurs fan and got us free tickets. I did however accept that we were in the wrong end an did not celebrate the goals (2 both scored by Andreas). Tell a lie, I went to the toilet both times and celebrated in the shi***r

Me and my jumped up little mates? Haha, so you are making a point that i’m being disrespectful to my own fellow fans but then you make that statement about me and my mates (I don’t go to the home games with my mates)??

I would be lying if I said I had never been involved in a football related scrap BUT we all have different opinions on the matter. You agree with away fans being in the home end even if they cheer, I agree that they can be there as long as they don’t cheer and other people will be of the opinion they shouldn’t be in the home end full stop.

Villareal paid £5 mil for him and didn’t want to sell him so we had to go in with a larger offer.

Roberto has obviously had his sights set on the lad and do you think Villareal would pay big money to River Plate and publically state they didn’t want to sell him if he wasn’t any good?

Signing any player is a gamble and £7 mil for us is a big signing BUT it’s an exciting signing and the lad is a huge prospect. I was happy with the Caldwell signing but i’m actually excited about this one and fingers crossed JR will be the next player in and i’d like to see Leon Britton, small firey midfielder who won’t duck out of a challenge and will be a good squad player to compete with our current midfielders.

I take it you are a scouser as you seem to be sticking your neck out to defend them although you know deep down all scousers are mouthy and have the worst accent in the UK including that horrible welsh, scottish and irish slang sh*t!

The point of my post was to have a little dig at scousers and it seems to have worked a treat, all scousers react and it’s been no different here.

Silly of them really, we don’t like scousers as it is never mind with the mouthy tw**s in our own end.

They should take a look at what we did to their neighbours!

“Football Factory Alert”!!!!

“What WE did to their neighbours?”……..What? The Liverpool fans?

Took sly digs at two fellas when they were being escorted out of the stand? Christ, that was dead hard, that. (Embarrassment actually)
The ‘look at us…we’re hooligans’ gesture made me cringe. One of the fellas had a kid with him, ffs. (Ok, shouldn’t have been in there, but even still, no need for the theatrics)

“Don’t like scousers”- 40 years ago, maybe. Fact is there are as many Scousers living in Wigan than anywhere. But for scousers Wigan wouldn’t be the club it is…..that is TRUE! (Don’t even try and deny it)
Where I was sitting it wasn’t sly digs, it was a group of scousers (around 5 or 6) with NO kids who celebrated the Benayoun goal. A guy near me went straight in for them, took 2 out with 2 punches and then the rest tried to jump him and so it all kicked off with wigan fans coming out well on top, FACT.

As for the guy with the kid, you think he’ll ever go in the wigan end again? Haha, serves him right really, he celebrated the goal and got a punch by doing so, his kid must be so proud of his old man. If he sat down and kept his scouse mouth shut he’d have been fine.

I watched football factory on film 4 last night, great film but I by no means claim to be a football hooligan, simply stick up for my club as and when I need to which included the home game against Liverpool.

Answer me this:

I go in the kop and celebrate a wigan goal which decides the game, would I be fine?

I was going until I found out it was £29, it makes all the wose that they are only charging a tenner for the home fans.
Is it pay on the night at a tenner in the home end or do you have to have pre-purchased your ticket?

If it is pay on the night for home fans (which I would imagine so as can you see Blackburn selling out for this game???) then I wouldn’t blame some of our lot going in the home end, makes sense and I take it that’s what you’re thinking horc?

There’s a few of us going and although the prices are much higher than last year and as you say a bit of a rip off for a midweek game we do Ewood every year and I think we’ll win so I had no hesitation getting my ticket.

Gohouri has played a full 90 mins reserve match, the 2nd half of the game at Notts and in that time we’ve conceded NO GOALS whilst he’s been on the pitch.

Personally, I thought he should have saved that 1st goal and his positioning was awful for the 2nd. Neither of the goals should have happened though, due to poor defending on Amaya’s part BUT in the 2nd half he made around 3 or 4 good saves so all in all it looks as though he got better as the game went on so hopefully he’ll do a job whilst Kirky’s out injured starting at Blackburn wednesday which is a big game which I think we should win.
