This lad has been watched by all the top clubs in Europe whilst he was at Lyon.
Arsenal were rumoured to be signing him in the summer and now us and Spurs in the hunt for him.
Would be surprised if he came to us BUT I would also be excited as this lad is real quality.
Watson going is old news, more than likely go on loan.
Scharner is staying/going every 24 hours. There’s a new story everyday.
As for team changes, he changed nothing from the Wolves game including our approach so I believe he’ll stick by the same team (depending on injuries).
If I were the boss, Kirkland would be dropped, how can a 6ft+ keeper get chipped in his own area so easily when he was so close to Berbatov and why does he feel there’s no need to save the ball when it’s on target? I also believe he was poor with the Wolves goal, there really wasn’t any power on that header!
I know everyone’s entitled to their own opinion but to say Figueroa should be dropped? That’s beyond belief! This guy is arguably one of the best left backs in the prem. Also, yes Mario isn’t so quick and has good and bad days but his experience and also some of the things he does on the pitch are fantastic. He is a good player and he does link up well with the right mid playing 1-2’s and getting forward well. Didn’t have a good game Saturday but for me, nobody apart from Diame and Thomas did either.
I would go for:
Pollitt
Melchiot Boyce Bramble Figueroa
Thomas Diame
Sinclair Koumas N’Zogbia
Rodallega
Subs: Kirkland, Scharner/Amaya, Edman, Gomez, Brown, Scotland, Cho.
Gomez is the player who needs dropping, not sure if it’s just getting used to the prem but he’s not good enough, showing no signs of improvement either. Maybe mixing it up a little will help or maybe give him one more chance to show what he can do but up to now Mr Gomez, you’re not really pulling your weight in the big league!
Carroll
Chimbonda De Zeeuw Bramble Figueroa
Valencia Palacios Bullard N’Zogbia
Roberts Ellington
Subs: Filan, Jackson, Baines, McCulloch, Cattermole, Rodallega, Heskey.
For me, that would be our best (most recent) XI with the subs.
East will be full (Boston)
West will be close (Springfield)
Utd end will be full
South stand will let us down and only be 1/2 or 2/3 full.Crowd = 23,142
new member here.im actually a keen man united fan but seeing as a cant get a season ticket there i get down the dw stadium to watch the latics!!!!
why was es1 shut again?? thought u latics fans were a family club???according to roberto in the wep afew days ago??
The family stand is the ’empty stand’ behind the goal, the rest of us are animals!
So how many they going to score past us?
I think about 5
oh well thats it then,we dont need to go now then.
It’s not like we get many on anyway
Does your name have any connection to how your mum works her magic in the bedroom?I say 10 with Valencia scoring 7.
You heard it here 1st, get it on at the bookies!
I’ll have what your saying mate and it does seem plausable, but it aint gonna happen.
This deal is a non-starter.
I’m not saying it’s going to happen, i’m simply stating that Martinez was interested and monitored the situation (if the lad is actually Negredo) according to a guy who is/knows someone close to the club.
Now you’re saying if indeed it is Negredo we’re actually after !! It could be anyone from Madrid.
Check one of your earlier posts and you say from your source that it IS Negredo we’re after and heard it from a number of sources now!
Come on man, get real.
You’re f’in impossible!I said he doesn’t mention any names but if you put 2 and 2 together it has to be Negredo. The guy is close to the club so he won’t risk anything by telling random fans all the info. He said it was a striker from Madrid. Are you following me now? I then convinced myself it was Negredo (been linked with a move all summer and not a big money player who everyone has heard of). I also knew Hull were after him so I thought it was him the guy was on about and then heard other people (my brother being one of them) mentioning Negredo being linked with Wigan (not sure of the source).
Your post doesn’t even make sense.

Bolton got 20k on against Sunderland and they had the whole stand behind the goal (around 7k – 2 tiers). I know there were a few empty seats but if you say there were around 6k there from Sunderland that leaves 14k from Bolton.
The crowd was 22,200, and the visitors end holds approx 5500 so there were just short of 17K Bolton fans.
Thanks for pointing that out.
My point is 17k home fans for a teams 1st home game in the Premier League isn’t good. It’s better than the 12,500 we had but for a Saturday afternoon rather than a Tuesday night game. My point is that teams such as ourselves, Bolton, Blackburn + anybody else who suffers with home crowds are all in the same boat.
I’ve also been told that Sunderland had around/over 6,000 tickets for Bolton game so the away end must hold around that number.
The Negredo talk is all gash! Fact!
I know your post is more out of hope rather than having some ‘inside knowledge’.
Ok, how do I reply to that?I have NEVER seen the lad play, he has only ever featured on loan at Spanish clubs, I couldn’t tell you if he was good or not, i’m going off what i’ve heard from an inside source. This news hasn’t been in the press (yet) and as stated in my message the guy told me it’s a striker from Madrid but did not mention any names. This is the same guy who told me we were signing a Korean lad weeks before we actually got him, the guy who told me Cattermole was unhappy before we played St Mirren and were all aware of Sunderlands latest offer. I don’t know the guy but he knows i’m a Wigan fan, he never mentions names simply says what he knows and gets you thinking. If it’s not true it could be that the lad wasn’t interested or that Bobby wasn’t impressed but i’m sure you’ll think it was just the guy/me talking sh*t?
Bobby did mention a big signing to the press when he was asked about the money from Valencia and Cattermole but nothing has been mentioned since.
Real Madrid have stated that they will only sell Negredo with a buy back price included in his contract. So, if we buy him for £10m and set Madrid a buy back price of say £15m then if he takes the prem by storm they’ll just sign him back (if they believe he’s good enough and of course if he agrees to go back).
The Spanish reports suggest he wants to stay in Spain but with the Spanish connection we have here at Wigan with Bobby, Gomez, the 2 young spanish lads who signed and Amaya we must be able to tempt him to the Premier League.
Tuncay has gone on loan to a foreign club, am I right?
Or he’s close to agreeing?
I think you can give that transfer a miss but this Negredo saga is being dragged on and I believe Bobby’s trying to get him at Wigan. Heard this from a few people and 1 very reliable guy who is/knows one of Whelan’s right hand men. I don’t know him myself and it’s not the friend of a friend sh*t some people come out with.
The guy was genuine and didn’t mention any names but did say Martinez is in talks with Madrid for a striker. Put 2 and 2 together and it has to be Negredo right? Can’t see it being Raul or Van Nistelrooy.
If I knew you i’d have a £10er on it pal. City may concede a few this year due to their attacking mentality now but they’ll score much more and that will result in a higher finish than Spurs who I believe will start well but not keep it up all season. If Spurs lost any more players to injury they would struggle, if they keep everyone fit (tough task with the likes of Woodgate and King in the squad) then yes, they will do well but not well enought to break the top 4 and in my opinion they will finish below City:
1. Chelsea
2. Man Utd
3. Arsenal
4. Liverpool
5. Man City
6. Tottenham
7. Aston Villa
8. West Ham
9. Wigan
10. FulhamYes, Kilgallon and Moses.
We are leading the chase to sign Moses for £3m and we look to be snatching a deal for Kilgallon from under Newcastle’s nose.
I think there’ll be more to come yet with Bodde reported to be sealing a 4.5m deal next week.
