Didn’t go to the game today but, from the bits I heard on Radio City, the Everton lads who commentate on their were very positive about Gomez. OK, I only heard about 20 minutes, it has to be said.
Didnt go to the game Griff? Whys that, were you worried you wouldnt be able to keep your feelings for Whelan in check or are you just a crap supporter? ;)
Last week Valencia provided the cross to start the rout. This week Baines scores to defeat us. Carry on like this and it will be Wigan Athletic v Ex Wigan Athletic.
Dave Whelan!      :roll:You never answered my question the other week…
What job did Whelan sack/make you redundant from?
Has he screwed your wife/boyfriend? ;)
Are you related to Whelan or his bit on the side. May be you just fancy him but its ok, dont worry about it, there are plenty like yourself knock about round Brighton.
Competely agree, but being realistic what odds do we have? Is Whelan going to give Martinez funds, you have more chance of getting blood out of a stone.
Does this not remind you of West Brom last year, losing but trying to play football all that counts.
I respect Martinez and want him to be the best thing to ever happen to the club but I just think we need a manager with experience. Martinez is similar in many ways to Paul Ince was at Blackburn, great in the lower leagues before arriving but shown not to have what it takes at premiership level. Having said that, with Whelan as the chairman, Alex Ferguson would struggle.
Wish we could get shut of this mon before its too late, the selfish old git is quite obviously milking us dry to ensure any money he has spent on us is returned.Been at work today, so I haven’t seen anything of it. On paper the result is terrific and the pundits on SSN and The BBC have said good things about us. Looking forward to Tuesday even more now.
I love Saturday evenings after a win like this.
Indian, bottle of red, beer, nibbles, MoTD and a right good f**K to end the night.Alright alright before you all have a go, I might be asking a bit too much, I suppose I could give the nibbles a miss.
You didnt see any of the match, thats interesting. You were looking forward to Tuesday even more, did you enjoy it? Reckon its an Indian Sunday night, or a donna kebab after drowning sorrows all night?
You’re waffling on a bit bobby, but I think I get the gist of what you mean.
I didn’t enjoy either the Wolves or the Utd match too much, niether did I enjoy the Blackpool match. However there were encouraging signs in each match. Well perhaps not in the Blackpool match.
I’ ll be having my ‘red skin’ and a few drinks tonight as I’m working tomorrow night so I won’t be able to celebrate or commiserate unfortunately
Three defeats in a week isn’t good, the manner of the defeats was also a bit disappointing. That said, we are still only two games into a new season, with a new manager, a new team, and a new way of playing. All we ask is, have a little faith and get behind your team instead of all the tiresome comments you make.
I have faith and get behind the team on the stadium, do you? The place where it matters gets 100% off me each match, on here I give my views. I dont give them at a game, I support the team with about what, 25 other people. You may be one of those and if so I apologise, but if your one of those who sits silently through the game and gives the team or manager no support what so ever, you need to take a look at yourself. This isnt threatening, im being friendly, go for a pint before the next game if you like, then we can see how each other supports the team.

You should have reposted it when we got beat by Wolves, got hammered 5-0 by Utd and got humiliated 4-1 by Blackpool reserves.
What is says though is true to be honest, I hold my head in shame has never been more true. As far every one of our players brilliant, sarcasm makes it more realistic. Here you are, just what youve been waiting for, a positive post.
One thing alone says how good Kirkland is, our fans chanting Englands No.1. The constant questions as to why he isnt in the England squad. Some of our players are simply not good enough, but for me Chris Kirkland is fantastic.

See Phil Thomson thinks as I do as well…..
http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528, … 91,00.htmlI can see some of these Whelan worshippers finding a reason not to question the running of the club if we sold every player we have and fielded a bunch of lower league players who got battered by a lower league teams reserves. Oh, well there we have it. I can see some of these lot outside Whelans house in Parbold hoping to be the one to polish his shoes before he goes out.
We laughed at the Beckham worshippers, but Whelan is worshipped far more. lolbobbygee & bobbyswigan, are you the same person??Just wondering because you both type the same kind of utter shyte!!
Zaki showed exactly what type of player / person he is after October last season.
Similar Billy Big B0ll0x personality as a certain Mr Scharner. If he ever has the cheek to come back here and put a Wigan shirt on my season ticket goes in the nearest bin!!!!
You will be following what a lot of people are already doing dont you think. You reckon Wigan fans who chanted his name, treated him like a hero, had his name on the backs of their shirts would be dissapointed at Zaki replacing Marlon King? Yes, I be you throwing your season ticket away would be a big blow.
Top post Appley..3 games in – more points than Everton and the same points as Liverpool – and we have played 2 of the top 6 from last season..
…no, your right Bob, we should have won the F.A. cup by now
…..bloody rubbish Wigan….Not coming again me ;)
Funny isnt it, some fans thinking we should be able to compete with a championships reserve side. Conceding 9 goals in two games, whats the problem in that? Any way, win our next few games and everything will be fine and we will be shooting up the league. Everton, West Ham, Arsenal then Chelsea, with the quality play, quality players, Graham Barrows coaching and vast experience we have, we should be at least mid table by November.
To be totally honest, apart from Bramble none of them look great. We are now having more players leaving, we are playing a lad who has publically said he wants to go (Scharner) in defence and our forward line is seriously lightweight, apart from Rodallega we have nobody you could call a striker.
God, has anyone geet some prozac for this mon.
Our team is wonderful, its class. Up front we have the awesome King ready and waiting, midfield the skills and quality like Gomez, to be honest what you want to do is slap a fiver on winning the league. Palacios, Cattermole, Valencia, Heskey, etc wouldnt make our bench were just outstanding. Were about to get better as well, with the signing of Lionel Messi. May not make our starting 11, but be a decent squad player.
Nowt like being positive. :lol:do you also sulk when Wigan win?I sulk during transfer windows watching our team ripped to pieces. When we concede 9 goals in two games I sulk. When I see our best players leaving and handing in transfer requests I sulk. To be honest, if we lose a game I sulk. If one of our players is injured etc, I sulk. I sulk when we get knocked out of cup games. I sulk when i dont see players putting effort in.Tell me, what do you do, smile happy as larry when we get beat? Your happy when we lose. See our players sold, youre happy and pay no attention.
When we win, do you cheer? Do you go crazy jumping up and down then sing your heart out, or are you one of those who gives a quick clap, then sits back down arms folded and lips tightly shut? The average attendance in the season we were relegated (1992-93) was 2,593.The lowest ever average since joining the football league was during the 1994-95 season when the average was 1,748.
So the facts show that we have never had an average of 1,200 over a full season.
Hope this stops just a little bit of the bickering on here. Every little helps!!!!
Who mentioned averages? We have been on Springfield with less than 1200 fans on, or do you not agree?
Always makes me glad when I see Zaki gone, but the wonderful Marlon King and Jason Scotland in his place. Went AWOL 4 times and all the lot, fancy a bet he scored more last season than those two will combined?
So 5 years in The English Premier League and possibly being the only club in there without massive debt doesn’t count as success??Carry on as you are Mr Whelan, these guys have obviously forgot where we have come from and who we are!!
I’ve never read as much absolute shoite in my life as i have done over the past week or so on here. We are 3 games into the season with a new manager and virtually new team for christ sake.
Did any of you really expect 9 points on the board by now??
Yeah, thought so!!!It’s going to take another 10 games or so until we start seeing what Roberto is trying to do i’m afraid. Hope some of you don’t have too many sharp objects kicking about at home!!!!
”with a new manager and virtually new team for christ sake.” Thats the point being made appley, see youre learning.
