Cant ignore it any longer, ignored the Hull, Pompey, Arsenal, Man Ure results. If we are ignorant to it it will happen again. We need to let the players know that that level of performance is wholly unacceptable. We are a working class club, with working class fans. To ignore it is against my trade union beliefs.

It was bound to happen??? Thats a bit defeatist. We should be going into these games to win and fully competing. But we aint competing are we? Defoe was flying around like bl@@dy Peter Pan while Bramble and co watch flat footed. Martinez says he instills the Springfield Park spirit into his players, well I don’t think the old lady would accept that level of performance.
I agree with you about Saturday tho.

No mate, you got me wrong. I can’t wait for Satday, it can’t come quick enough, coz I fully expect a backlash and a good performance. Now it genuinely spoils my weekend when the tics lose, but 9-1 is totally and utterly unacceptable, I wrack my brains for the reason, I am raging inside. It hurts me. But it has been on the cards a while now, we capitulate far to easy, heads drop. Could you see Spurs sticking nine goals past a none league team if they drew them in the cup? Something is clearly not right, how can that same defence from last year concede nine goals, eight in 45 mins? How can Pompey the bottom club stick four past us? Something has to change and pretending it hasn’t happened isn’t gonna help I’m afraid.

Don’t think Kenny Swains team would of got beaten 9-1. Think about it, if Spurs drew Chester in the cup, would they stick 9 goals on em?

I’m with you on this one Foureyes, what a greedy snidey so and so Gartside is, the Daily Mail has hammered him this week, and rightly so, saying that if the Prem voted his plan in there would be no room for Bowton, summat to do with crowds over 25k and finances. Does any one know the full criterior of Gartsides plan?

I miss it. It was the highlight of our season, and we took some good turn outs to footballing outposts like Barrow, Runcorn, and Alty.
Is it really 30 years ago when we played Northwich in that fog?

my dad tells the tale of that match. didn’t you get bricked or something.?[/quote]
3 times we went to that ground, 1st time it was cancelled prior to kick off,2nd time was the match of the fog, and 3rd time we drew 2 all after leading 2 nil. I’ve never been to a football match with as much crowd trouble, I remember police reinforcements marching out the tunnel to a chorus of “you’ll never catch the ripper” who was at large at the time, also remember a copper catching a dart in the face and having his boat all over the front covers of the sunday papers the following day.
In the replay at Springfield Park, Derek Brownbill came off the bench to score the winner with a glancing header in the last minute to end the mother of all epic cup ties. I can still see that fat keepers face now, Ryan?

Gomez is struggling with the prem in all honesty, he got dropped today for Scharner. Diame and Thomas look to be forming a decent partnership, both strong in the tackle and Diame looks to have a trick or two.
Scotland played the lone striker role today, with Rodellega playing on the left, which I thought worked well today.
Bramble and Boyce were rocks at the back today, with Bramble opening the Scoring. Sir Bobby will be proud.

Must admit, I’m ok with Dowd, was at Highbury that night and was as mad as the next man, but in recent displays I’ve come to respect him. His display at Craven Cottage against Ronaldo and Rooney last season finally convinced me.
