The Wembley dream begins again. Can’t wait. Let’s get a confidence building good run going. First choice side only. No Billy Big Bollox approach.
The thing is simple really, neither Latics nor The Parasites could afford to run the stadium as it is on their own and in their present circumstances. Maybe Latics in the future if the downward slide discontinued and we climbed back up to the premier League which is looking doubtful under the current ownership.
The Eggs have near enough been top of their little tree for years but couldn’t afford to stay at The Cauldron of Shite and stand on their own two feet so on their present gates and income standing alone would probably leave them cap in hand knocking at Bolton Wanderers door again. So like it or loathe it we are stuck with each other, that is unless we do actually own the stadium anyway which was mentioned at one time. What would a Saints fan want with The Worriers? Seems like a bit of paper talk!
He may have plans to buy us out and the ground and Charnock Richard etc etc. Could move Salford RL in to our place and chuck the Warriors out. Maybe the Warriors will be off to their first choice in Horwich. Got to admit I would rather have Salford at our place than those ungratefully disgusting parasites.
That squad rotation in the last few seasons has cost us dearly.
4-4-2 3-5-2 5-3-2 or 4-3-3 so long as the two of the three are out and out strikers. Please no 3-5-1 or 5-3-1, although six years of this has cured my insomnia.
Surely we wont be going out to bore the league to sleep.Fingers crossed the quality will be arriving soon.
Well that is hard to argue against Mutty but who knows what will happen in the crazy world of Latics in the next few weeks.
Don’t think the game has changed that much Nuneaton. Bournmouth Watford and Norwich managed promotion playing the style and way we did in the times of Roberts and Ellington as did Burnley and Leicester the previous season. look at the previous season Ings and Vokes plucked from nowhere and could not be classed as any better than our Nathan and Jason.
Tavernier as been mentioned too and we saw so little of Tavernier it is hard to comment just like Riera and Delort. He could possibly be another to go due to Championship wages. Its just that McClean and Pennant were not that special last season ad we were relegated. To get promoted they would have to be better that’s all. We have seen before what is required to gain promotion from league one and neither of those two and probably none of last seasons side would have got near the starting eleven of our league one promotion winning side.
I wouldn’t think the potential strike partnership of Riera and Delort will be staying. I cant see us wanting to pay their Championship wages. What we havnt seen we wont miss and we havnt seen enough of these two and even less as a partnership to cast any judgement so goodbye and good luck lads but let us just hope we can get a couple of bob back for these two and replace them with cheaper options in the calibre of Roberts and Ellington.
What is happening with Pennant? anyone know? not that he is good enough but just wondering if he still going to be with us or in the Afghan League or wherever else a mercenary can sell his wares.
McClean is another. This mon as far as I know it is one of our players. Is he still one of ours or selling himself around a cushy number in the U.S. Not that I am that arsed as he isn’t that good either and if someone daft enough comes in with the money snatch their hands off Sharpey. I can see him going down well shaking his tin raising funds dressed in his lepricorn suit around Boston or New York for the poor oppressed republicans on St Paddys night.
Gone quiet with Max Power. Who next Max Headroom? One unbelievable moment was the day we heard Latics had been elected to the league. After so many knock backs we were not even expecting it that year. Another turning point in Latics history and another exciting chapter in Latics history without a ball being kicked.
The league at last!!!The Bobby with the dart was in fact 74/75 in the Trophy and we won 4-2 at Northwich going on to play Lancaster away in the next round.
It was the 3 nil Horc. We were non league at the time. It was in the FA Trophy. The terrible dart incident made the national newspapers. I think we played Lancaster away in the next round making headlines again by starting a fire in a ‘stand. Non League!
Again that night at Villa Latics fans didn’t stop singing. Fantastic support 5 nil down and blasting out YAMS. Brilliant.
LHL was in away end that meet and said how brilliant it sounded.Another, 2-1 win over Noblot with ten men.
