Well if he didn’t Bobby did change his cautious, negative and boring tactics and it worked he kept us up.
In the FA Cup the year after he did the same and we won the cup. In the league he didn’t and took us down.

Well with James on his wing and Clarke or fortune or Waghorn or Billy Boy in a partnership up front at least it will look like we are having a go.
A big well done today three points away is a good three points. Fingers crossed three points out of the next two games and a win at Rotherham and who knows. We have got out of bigger holes than this before like 2011/12 when Whelan intervened and we did that incredible escape act. Such a shame Bobby didn’t learn from that and persisted in his tactics leading us to relegation the next season. Credit when it is due to the side that’s six points out of the last six away which makes the whisky taste better tonight. Thought the board would be jammed tonight with everyone or do we just save it all for defeats.
Come to think of it many folk are out on the piss on Satdy neet or they’ve better things to do than talk Latics.

And the other chap starts for a Spanish Premiership club every week. Who wrote the script for this season Alan Partridge?

How come a fan of a City club in a football starved region is so obsessed with the crowds of a small town clubs crowds. Bloody four league clubs in the North East. Four league clubs from Northallerton to Berwick with many towns bigger than Wigan and none sell out. You lot should stick to beating up horses or slobbering around drunk in Blackpool blowing your own unillustrous trumpets or simply stick to darts or putting your drink and ferrets before your wives and kids. Benefit street on crack the North East. Oh by the way Muts Eggs are a big fish in a very small pond whilst Latics are a tadpole in an Ocean full of Sharks.Crack open a Tennant’s blue can when you’ve cashed your giro that I pay taxes for.

Whelan can not take from the club if the club has nothing for him to take or what we have is Whelans anyway because the club is his club. He could pay himself back by moving money around, but paying back is only paying himself or his other businesses back what he has put in in the first place. Yes Dave says he has put in 100 million but he still manages to appear in the Sunday Times Rich List every year and also owns a Stadium, Training ground with valuable land and a huge tranche of land in Charnock Richard. On paper we look like we are a wealthy club, with small debts, a stadium, training ground and land for a new complex but are these Latics assets or Daves assets or Daves assets because Dave is Wigan Athletic?

He could bring his star midfielder then the club could sell him. Then bring in a young right back from Newcastle and not play him regularly then the club could loan him out. Next he could get hold of a Spanish and French striker but never play them together and then the club could then loan these out and one would be good enough to get regular games in the Spanish Premier League. Maybe he could swap and change his team every match and play wingers on the wrong wings too with only one striker and loan out a proven striker to Huddersfield to get injured. He may even promise to make us the fittest side in the league playing fast attacking football.
Or maybe he wont but not a bad idea you have there Mr Brownbill.

With McClean and Fortune in a Div 2 side we do not have a lot to look forward to in that league.
McClean has an high work rate but lets see that used on the wing and see if he could get a cross in.
Fortune an high work rate but that didn’t even show last night.

Bong a decent enough debut. Pennant looked like he had been playing in the Indian Cricket Super League. McClean and Fortune hopeless upfront but starved of decent service. Waghorn and Billy Boy on the bench watching a left winger play up front. Kim workmanlike but not much movement in front of him. Ojo just ineffective. Opposition average at best. Jimmy Somerville with a whistle awful. Pitch non league standard at best.
Just two changes needed, like for like for the two injured on Friday that would have kept Ojo on his right wing, McClean on the left, two strikers upfront.
Malky has been set up to fail but he doesn’t help his cause but does anyone care other than us silly buggers who go and sit down freezing our stones off with no reassurance for our woes from up above explaining this fiasco of a season.

We shall be enjoying it again tomorrow night. Well at least for the first 15 minutes as usual.

I think Paul Clements came from Skelmersdale United.

Well best of luck Runcorn. Hope things work out for you and Latics can pick up for a bit of extra feel good factor.

Beat me to that one Lostock. Think he was in the same team as Doug Coutts

Doug Coutts was a long streak. Good centre half too.

30 billion less for overpaid and underworked civil servants and principal officers in local authorities to squander.
They will always be there on their 30-100 grand plus a year super salaries while they cut back on cleaners, porters and labourers on 12 to 15k a year jobs.
