Last season must have seen a lot of egg on faces because most of us thought we were doomed and as for ripping the manager to shreds, where do you get that from ? I have said he can be stubborn at times but I have never called for him to be sacked ! I criticise players who under perform when I know that they can do better and just one glance at last years run in proves my point. If Rm is prepared to mix it up a little like today then I am sure we will be ok this time around as well but that has to be seen first in order to believe ! Your post is based purely on conjecture and so therefore I cannot take you seriously !

Good displays deserve credit where it is due whereas awful displays deserve criticism. There have been far too many bad displays from certain individuals this season hence the moaning ! If just the Lightsiders go to Wembley there will be fuck all there I can tell ya !
The people on here who do know me know that I am quite the opposite of miserable and if you want to believe the idiot who says I leave early every home game then more fool you ! Yes I did walk out at half time last week but that was shite and we had been drinking solidly for 3 hours pre kick off and just decided that the pub was the answer for the second half. If I am not allowed to comment on the evident problems we have had at the back without people suggesting I do the job instead then it is a poor do that is all I can say, an all too typical riposte it would seem ! I am an avid fan who wants the team to do better and so I like to get my concerns across and if you perceive that as being miserable then you are severely misconstrued.

The omission of the 3 you mentioned was key ! The keeper was solid and confident and I would like him to be given his chance in the league. Alcaraz was immense and it is performances like that which will hopefully see us safe but we are an enigmatic outfit ! Historic win today and my weekend is complete ! Well done to everyone including the great support as well !
My main bugbear is the back line and I would like to know what the defence coach gets paid for because whoever it is just isn’t cutting it for me ! This was what he said 18 months ago after one particular game…Copy and paste job !

My own sentiments re the expecting to do better after the run of last season and this is my point, why haven’t we ? [/quote]I remember quite a while back now saying that Ali Habsi needed some healthy competition for the keepers jersey and that was before the new lad came and I was shot down for it ! Now we have the new lad, due to Ali Habsi’s continued patchy form why not give the new lad a start but somehow I cant see RM doing it. Certain fans will just come back with ” You are not a football manager ” or ” Have you been playing FIFA again ” Now that to me is a cop out of a reply ! At the end of the day I want us to succeed and I enjoy the debates and banter on here that I have with certain posters but I am not a glory seeker ( If I was I certainly wouldn’t be here would I ! ) and I WILL be around whichever division we will be in and I WILL be kicking off still at underachievers ! B)

My reply was concise and to the point. Why should we settle for stagnation just because we came from the depths of lower league football. Piemons riposte was indeed heartfelt and sincere but he did indeed admit to having blind faith and whilst some fans are just grateful to be where we are now regardless of position or state of squad there are some of us JCL’s and stalwarts alike who would like a little bit more from our players. I happen to think that we have enough talent in the squad to survive but the right balance has not been found yet and that is down to the manager to work the oracle with what he has.This thread was not intended as a wind up but to point out that even big clubs like Liverpool have very similar rifts amongst their fans. There are fans on here who vent their spleen at crap performances only to be told by others to stop moaning and look how far we have come and other old chestnut sayings ! I have never been vitriolic in my posts but just because I have only been watching for 10 years doesn’t mean that I cant have an opinion or point out evidence of underachieving by certain players. Back to the never rest on your laurels,if you didn’t understand the adage then fine but don’t try and make out that I’m some sort of idiot. Nothing wrong at all wanting progression when it is a feasible goal but to be content for the sake of it due to history and the size of the club is counter-productive in my eyes ! 8 seasons in the Prem and we are still the whipping boys ! Whilst some of the old guard are happy with their lot some of us newer editions are more eager to properly establish ourselves in the top tier of English football, properly being the operative word ! We need to carry on building the fanbase for the future of the club and staying in the Prem and doing well in the Prem will indeed bring new fans,just accepting whatever happens because you support the team and getting mad with fans who are frustrated at the shite they are watching does not make you a better supporter. I will be there still if we go down but many wont and even though you will still be happy with your lot, your acceptance of how small we are and how far we have come etc will not fill the clubs coffers with much needed funds from fans and tv deals. I think the fans who want more success are the fans that will see this club prosper and the next generation of fans that come in will be like minded I hope !

I just want certain players who have the ability to put more effort in and if they cant be bothered sometimes then neither can I. They are on damn good money and are paid to perform to the best of their respective abilities, they are for want of a better word investments to the club and as a fan who would like to see us be more successful I would like to see such investments come to fruition, no crime in that !
