Beausejour tenth in all season stats for assists in Premier League. Not bad for what many believe is a fat waster on the wing!
Not quite sure why you’ve mentioned Beausejour here unless it’s a veiled reference to the notion he provides a substantial amount of cover for Figueroa. However, that statistic is not a surprise to me. I’m also not surprised no one has mentioned his superb pass for Kone’s second goal yesterday because that would mean a good number of numpties on here having to back track on their opinion of him being “a fat waster on the wing”.
You won’t hear much from any of them until we lose to Liverpool next week.
Negative comment Mr Griffin ! Lose you say ! ;)
Lets hope that the Liverpool game brings about an improvement in our home form because it has been nothing short of dire this season !
After only 2 seasons Swansea are playing great football & actually holding there own in the perm & in Huw Jenkins they have a chairman with a bit of nous & vision,as for us we seem to be stagnating as a club and going backwards, one win in umpteen games against a very poor reading side and some people seem to think we are world beaters. You better get yourself holed up in your bunker with comments like that. They don’t like it up em Mr Mainwaring ! ;)
Happy to be there syndrome ! Remember Cardiff !
I have had 2 cups of coffee now and all is clear ! ha ha ha
If you don’t utilise your possession to its full potential then you don’t score but if you can keep possession for as long as possible then you will indeed lessen the chances of the opposition scoring. However, sometimes ‘overcooking it’ may actually go against you if you give the ball away cheaply in a dangerous area which is what we have been guilty of on several occasions in the past. I guess it depends on which sort of possession we are talking about for it to be beneficial to the point of scoring. Continued pressing possession will invariably end with the opposition yielding whereas deep defensive possession whilst preventing the opposition scoring will not cause too much concern to the opposition ! I am concerned about the amount of times we gave the ball away cheaply against Reading in the first half hour on Saturday. Up until our opening goal I thought it was quite frustrating due to continual giving the ball away cheaply and McCarthur was the worst culprit ( I got to thinking that he couldn’t see properly with that mask on ! ) Figs went walkabout on a couple of occasions and was bailed out by Caldwell but on the whole Reading were poor and luckily didn’t capitalize. We had a really good spell of pressure possession and like I said earlier invariably you score and we did albeit slightly fortuitous with the unnoticed handball but swings and roundabouts eh ! We seemed a lot more confident in possession of the ball when we got our second at the worst possible time for Reading and the continued pressure possession early into the second half came to further fruition. The back line was solid and that is going to be key from now on till the end of the season but a special mention has to go to Scharner who for me has steadied the ship somewhat !
So despite going around the houses to explain things it would appear that possession DOES indeed win you games but overcooking it can sometimes have an adverse effect ! Liverpool will be a completely different ballgame and if we can avoid defeat I will be most happy ! It will be a high tempo game and so the starting line-up from last Saturday will be our best bet but possession will indeed be key and I hope we come out of the blocks rapidly and concentrate on keeping the ball better than we did in the opening phase against Reading as Liverpool will not be as forgiving ! I will be more than happy with a draw but a win will have me in raptures !Televised matches coming up soon!Tuesday 26 February ITV KO 19.45

” First 50 get extras ” ? Rather ambiguous !
I am fully aware of the history and have had digs myself but I think there comes a time when the threads become banal and very much the same ! I like to read most threads and contribute to many as you know, so just saying that you are covering old ground again ! I will be glad when RL finally curls up and dies which wont be too long from what I can gather ! I just think that these sort of threads can maybe contained to just one sticky perhaps ?
This is getting a little trite now if the truth be known !
Jesus you like to plan in advance dont you Phil!
I dont see why not though so count me in.
We shall sort it nearer the time then !
Right, it’s nearer the time ! We will be heading into Wigan town centre for 2.30, several scoops pre match and we may even call in on the Brick Clique ! :) :)
Was good to finally get some rub of the green as well because Caldwell definitely handled the ball for our first and admitted it afterwards !
Buy some heather off a pikey instead of telling them to fuck off and get a proper job and house !
Just re-reading your post a few times. Do you mean that us fans should buy some lucky heather and you need to get yourself a proper job and house? Personally I would have left it at the heather and not mentioned your other stuff.

” Fuck off and get a proper job and a house ”
Worked for me ! The thick inbred tax dodger turned around and walked away leaving me to read my Daily Mail in peace !
Buy some heather off a pikey instead of telling them to fuck off and get a proper job and house !
And to think Thirtyodd years latic said playing front 2 with Maloney in a free roll behind them wouldn’t happen !
