Well I thought that he should have taken one of the front two off and brought on Lopez. Contrary to popular belief of some on here we did used to play with a lone striker ! That to me would have made more sense but hey it’s all academic now !

We will sign him and then we wont hear of him again for about a year ! Bolton fans keep telling me Miyaichi was really good for them and they cant understand why in the current circumstances that he doest get a run out ! It’s all fair and well saying that he doesn’t fit into the system we play so why bring him here in the first place is my question !

All keepers have bad patches at some point or another, although saying that, tonight and last week Al Habsi had actually made decent saves but had failed to clear the ball sufficiently. Hardly the work of a dodgy keeper.Keepers rarely have competition at clubs – apart from the big clubs. It’s usually the first choice keeper and a young understudy – which is exactly what we’ve got.
He didn’t look too young to me ! I would hazard a guess at 40 yrs old ! B)
Rose tinted Lowey wont have a bad word said despite 4 defeats in the last 5 games plus Ali Al Habsi does indeed fcuk up in the last 3 ! He has no competition though for his shirt and so he is under no pressure ! Having pressure on a first choice player from a fringe player does actually have a positive effect on performances ! Newcastle had lost God knows how many on the bounce and were under pressure prior to tonight’s game but being the proverbial step ladder side that we are we took that pressure right off them ! QPR haven’t won a game all season ……I wonder ! If we oblige then we are going to be in pretty bad shape ahead of the Christmas campaign !
Well I have heard the hissing, but if nobody can back me up on that then I guess I will have to hold my hand up for now ! Back to the racist chants, the irony of ” Who’s the paki in the nets ” chant that was definitely sang to Bolton fans when their keeper was ……Yep you guessed it, our very own Ali Al Habsi !!

Filmoss, i think what has got some peoples backs up is that this was a reported story about wet spam fans at spurs and you have linked wigan fans to this (prob not worded right) then go on later to say what you heard at brummy.Every club has some racist fans, back in the 80s racist chants towards black players was a common thing and i bet a lot of people on this board joined in with these chants includeing me,and when i look back i am not proud of it but its that gang thing and been young teenager seeing older lads do it i joined in.But no doubt others will not admitte to doing it because they have pointed the finger at our ownIndeed I am linking Wigan fans with the West Ham story simply because they do the same thing !In other words ” It’s not just West Ham that do this ” Other clubs fans do it as well because I have heard it whilst watching Spurs games on tv. There is a distinct difference between the sound of fans shushing to that of hissing ( Try it ! ) and I have definitely heard the latter sound emanating from the ES2 area whilst playing Spurs !

The amount of times I have saved men from their blushes is uncanny ! I feel I was put on this Earth to aid my fellow Brothers and to help them avoid embarrassing moments ! Nice catch by the way even though as you rightly pointed out, I know feck all about fishing ! ;)

I think we would all agree that keepers do indeed make clangers from time to time as Wednesday night showed ( 3 proper howlers from 3 different keepers ) Now 2 very bad errors on the trot is slightly rarer and when these things happen people do indeed start to scrutinise. I would have thought that there will be some interested parties watching Ali very closely come Monday night ! My comments re possible complacency at being our only real first choice keeper were taken out of context the other day, as I meant that Ali does indeed need to know deep down that he isn’t the only real choice. I feel that a scenario like that is not healthy mentally anyway and a bit of competition is the key to keeping players on their toes ! I hope that clears things up a little ! He has been fantastic for us and I am a big fan of his and so I don’t want to see him getting complacent, and I don’t mean that in a bad way !
I think I might open a fish and chip shop because I have a plethora of big fish that I have just reeled in !! Subway Suckers ha ha !
A swift read through the replies and I can clearly see the wheat sorted from the chaff ! Firstly you will see that at no point did I say that any fans, never mind all of the ES2 fans are racists and secondly, you will see that my comments re racist chants were pertaining to my visit to St Andrews and what I witnessed there ! As a footnote I will add that a few fans on this thread seem to have witnessed and so therefore mentioned that ES2 fans do indeed chant racist stuff from time to time ! If I am an absolute disgrace for not condoning such behaviour then what does that make those who choose to do it ? Like I said, wheat from the chaff !!
