Possibly even football related:
In Roman times a vomitorium was the entrance and exit from a stadium, not a room where people went to vomit after overindulging on meals. In fact, the entrances to the stands in stadia now are still called “vomitorium”.
That would explain why I feel sick as hell every other Saturday when leaving the ground ! ;)
Yep nicely balanced I make it £85 Million spent in the Prem and £87 million recouped and all those who said a certain person had pocketed the lot eh ?I have never said that but for all Uncle Dave’s talk of better things to come and all that, he hasn’t exactly done any financial speculation has he ! Speculate to accumulate and all that ! I am not knocking him for keeping his ship in order but he does need to shut up sometimes !
A mate of mine is giving away baby guppies ( Don’t know proper terminology ! ) If you want some in box me and I will give you his number !
you can’t see the great wall of china from the moonThat’s right, you cant ! ;)
Roughly a £2mill profit based on buying and selling from what I can see ! No biscuits there then !
Edit- Just checked properly and it is £1.75mill profit since joining Prem if those figures are correct !
The point I was making was why shouldn’t we risk it for a biscuit with the lad from Burnley. At least he will be accustomed to the surroundings and shit weather !
How much would you pay for said lad ?
Not a clue ! We wont buy him anyhow because the gaffer is probably very happy with his strike force ! Boselli will get his chance when Kone leaves for international duty. To be honest I am more concerned about the wing back situation because if we are going to carry on using wing backs then I really do think that RM needs to fetch in a couple more players.

As a club we don’t really have much of a choice do we ! I cant see us poaching any half decent strikers from the Prem and don’t say we did with Di santo because he hasn’t exactly set the World alight with his 4 goals either ! We can only look to the lower leagues or abroad for bargains and just hope they turn out ok ! They only fcuk off anyway if they turn out to be decent and so the cycle continues ! Is it lack of money or lack of ambition ? I don’t really know but I do know that the old school are quite happy to accept the situation whilst the newer fans ( The majority ) have different ideas now that football has moved on into the 21st century !
Rickie Lambert seems to be doing ok considering ! Moses made a decent transition as well in my opinion !
Rickie Lambert isn’t exactly setting the world alight with his four goals is he?! And, Moses took forever and a day to get his first goal and after that wasn’t exactly prolific.
Marlon King and Jason Scotland couldn’t stop scoring goals before we signed them.
I did say considering ! ( Southampton not exactly brilliant so far ! )
Quick hypothetical question. Would you condone the signing of Lambert if he was available in January and price wise totally do-able for the club ?It’s all very well saying that he deserves a run in the side but Bobby & the coaching staff see him in training every day & when he turns out for the reserves & there’s obviously something there which to me indicates that they don’t think he’s up to it.
Manager’s can of course get things wrong & it took Di Santo the best part of 2 seasons to start showing (on a consistant basis) that he was up to the job but I feel that as Bobby staked so much on the fella (if the Benson incident is true) & due to the fact that he cost so much, if they had any sort of faith in him then he would be getting far more match time than he currently does.
Not only that but even when Di Santo looked at his worst, Bobby consistantly put him in the side ahead of a Boselli who was farmed out on loan – suggesting that he sees far more in one than he does in the otherSo I’ll bow to Bobby’s judgement on this one
That would be the case for the whole team selection then so I hope you don’t come on here calling anyone or suggesting such a person deserves a chance !
Have people not realised we stand to lose Kone to the African Nations cup in January/February? I am almost sure he will go with Ivory Coast.
Just thought I’d mention it, as I reckon we will be knackered without him, unless we spend some money on a replacement, as Di Shito isn’t good enough, and Boselli is even worse than that.
I’d test the water with a bid for Charlie Austin from Burnley. His contract is running out, so might be able to do a deal. He’s already scored 21 goals.
Yes, in the Championship. Remember Marlon King, Jason Scotland, & Jason Koumas!
iam growing a moustache for movember this year, it will go well with the curly sideburns i grew for jewn.I hope my Mrs doesn’t do Fanuary ! :)
Beausejour needs to shed a few pounds and he needs to then start taking on opponents again and getting in some decent crosses, yes he did cross the ball for our goal on Saturday but I think I could have done that in that situation ! Their second goal that did turn out to be the winner could have been avoided if Winker Watson had put in a decent tackle instead of mincing about !
I noticed we were down near the bottom of the Alternate MOTD2 subs who score goals table ! I thought no wonder, given that the players who could maybe score for us on the bench on average tend to get about 5 mins to do just that !
I don’t know if you have noticed but RM is a creature of habit and tends to stay with more or less the same starting line up whenever possible !
