How many would follow the Toon if they had Utd,Liverpool,City and Everton on the flamin doorstep. This is the point everyone misses when comparing our crowds. Enough people in the past have took the piss out of us for small crowds they don’t need any help from our own fans as well.YAMS.
Talking of piss taking rival fans. The other week when we entertained Bristol City, Nob End were hosting Reading and the respective attendances were identical! Now our fixture was between 2 sides not doing very well and both in the bottom 3 with a distinct threat of relegation, whilst their game was 2 sides very much in with a chance of the play offs ( Promotion!) and so how can they possibly take the piss out of us?
Every credit to him, I think he got a rough ride from the media with that national anthem bollocks! I refuse to stand for it and it should be a personal choice and it has nothing to do with Germany although that is where the present royal family originate from! I am not a royalist and therefore I shouldn’t have to stand for some sentimental dirge that means fuck all to me!
An egg on your face moment! Has he got a tie on? If so, why? Fashion faux pas as well as managerial faux pas!
Shame that – when I still lived up north I’ve ran the line there a few times & they always got decent crowds & treated you well.I’d noticed from looking at the tables that they’d gone from a team challenging at the top over the last few seasons to being stuck down the bottom and had wondered about what was going on
Hopefully they’ll pull through
Sounds familiar that! ;)
Right, well if everyone has finished airing their dirty laundry in public, we can continue!
The squad that won League 1 should have been good enough to finish above the bottom three without any additions. We also had Emyr Huws returning to the fold after his self-imposed exile, only to be flogged just as the season started.
The transfer activity in the summer was uninspiring, and did nothing to improve the strength of the squad. Player retention/recruitment is usually dealt with by the Chief Exec and/or Chairman. However JJ is still in post whilst two managers have been sacked.
I strongly suspect at least two of the recent managerial appointments haven’t been JJ’s choice, and the decisions of which players leave and which stay have largely been up to the managers.
But we do love a good scapegoat at Wigan, and with Joyce out of the way and Barrow saying all the right things in the press, the Chief Exec gets his turn!
Well I think it’s the kit man’s fault for using the wrong fabric conditioner, it has been pernicious to say the least! :)
Certainly some baffling and rank bad decisions by the club for sure since we won League One? Clear out needed in my opinion!
What a cracking strike from Podolski :) A fitting end to a great international career and he was born in Poland :P
Ironic really when you think that had we not mullered the krauts in 45 Poland would probably not exist.
I don’t want to get into a debate, but you’ll find it was the Soviets who drove the Germans out of Poland in 1944/1945.
My in-laws (Poles) were deported by them to Archangel up in the Arctic. :(
Tongue in cheek comment gl aimed at our resident sausage muncher fil von moss
It’s actually Möss ! ;)

I’ve heard it all now an Englishman who supports Germany. I’ve always been a closet Dutch fan both Ajax and the Oranje but when its against England its not gonna happen. And its not like its Brazil, Spain or Argentina its Germany ffs the dreaded foe. Whilst you can admire the success and way they play ots still f…..g Germany. Sorry marrer I don’t get that at all.
Not many do but that’s the way the cookie crumbles! It’s been covered on here before many moons back! ;) Standish once called me ‘Lord Haw Haw’ :) I do however have a lot of Scottish friends and so at least they’ll be behind me tonight! :P
I was going to call you that again before you spoiled it!
Sorry Johnny! :) There’s always Görtz ;)
Never had filmoss down as a glory hunter
No, neither have I ! I wasn’t born in 1954 and Germany didn’t win the next one until 1974, I started to follow them in 1970! Latics first promotion to The Championship is when I started following back in 2003 and so if that is glory hunting then I’m bang to rights! ;)

I hope so!
Why?
Because I will be up for Germany, I would have thought that was patently obvious from my earlier comment! ;)
Why do you hope Germany beat England, aren’t you English?
My international football allegiance is with Germany, has been for the last 47 years! Don’t bother with all that patriotic shite either, it simply doesn’t wash with me!
