I don’t mean to be pedantic but a record that broken wouldn’t do what you are insinuating, in fact it wouldn’t actually be playable at all! Just sayin!
Putting money on the team I support to be relegated wasn’t a case of tempting providence, it was a case of me thinking ” Fucking Hell, this is shite and I really can’t see things improving under the circumstances, I think I will prepare myself for the inevitable and give myself a little windfall to cheer me up when it finally happens”
Again, I can’t emphasise how much I want the bet to lose but my contingency plan has been in place for several months now! Call me the forum’s soothsayer from now on! If we do drop down don’t be surprised if we go down again within 3 seasons! You heard it here first! ( Big winky/smiley thing! )Just found this article and Evans is expecting to hear something before weekend.Quite a few sources have said the decision is tomorrow!
If Rotherham get a 3 point deduction and as a result of that we survive then I shall name Farrend Rawson as my player of the season! Let’s be honest here, there aint been no stand out players on show for us has there!
The precedent is set now after the Wimbledon case last season. No matter what excuse Rotherham put forward, be it a clerical error or not, they have still played an unregistered player. It will be 3 points deduction and £5k-£10k fine suspended till next season. As for saying we don’t deserve to stay up Fil, that beggars belief. Yes we have had a crap season, but there is no way we are in the bottom 3 worst teams in this division.
I’ve lost count of the times I’ve walked off grounds thinking we just haven’t deserved to lose that game.
They say a league table never lies, it might not, but fekin officials do make stupendous mistakes that cost sides vital points and IMO we have been the victim of these on too many occasions this season. :(Like others on here, I get the feeling you are feeling rather irritable that your bet may go down the swanny. Take a chill pill and see what transpires over the next 10 days. If it comes in, I for one wont be chuffed for you. :P
What part of ” Nothing to do with the bet” do you not understand? I wouldn’t like to use the words over confident or anything like that as it will be a sad day indeed when the hammer falls and I would rather stay up and lose the money so no I am not irritable at all! Now for you to say we are not a bottom 3 team you are right, we are a bottom 2 side and from what I have witnessed at home we are thoroughly deserving of that position! You are in denial lad! Oh and as for setting a precedent, the thing about that particular rule is that there isn’t any precedent, a decision in relation to a points deduction can be varied! We shall just have to wait and see, Millwall are still above us and have just as much a chance on Saturday as we have as Wolves kinda need 3 points yeah! ;)
I don’t reckon that Rotherham will be docked any points for a couple of reasons.
1) Top barrister employed to fight their corner who will get their mitigating circumstances across to the panel. He must be costing them a fortune! It is also rather unnerving how the club have gone all North Koreaesque !
2) With Derby submitting their papers on the back of the verbal agreement to extend the lad’s loan, Rotherham will plead that their side of business was merely a clerical error due to it being Easter and who could argue that what with our little clerical error with the chocolate fireguard striker! I personally think it would be rather unfair in the circumstances to dock them 3 points! :(
Just lay your bet off like I told you then you can stop flapping about on ere
Nothing to do with the bet! I just think that on the whole we don’t deserve to stay up and that Derby knew all about the loan extension and had submitted the appropriate paperwork! I would much prefer to stay up on merit rather than by default! I didn’t put the bet on to go laying it off, it was put on because I could see what was happening to our club and I thought that I might as well benefit from it and have a cushion to break the proverbial fall! To be honest I hope I lose it but somehow I just can’t really see that happening!
I am still angry about the Millwall game! Lost the plot in a game that we could and should have won, if only eh!
Don’t beat yourself up over that game Fiil, there are numerous home games that we could and should have won. Our away form has not been that of a relegation club, but our home form has.
I am fully aware of the shite home form, I have sat through it all season! It’s just that the Rotherham points deduction business gave us an unexpected lifeline and with Millwall being below us prior to the game I hoped that we would have strengthened our survival hopes but due to some idiocy it went tits up! Let’s just hope that Rotherham lose their game in hand! It’s a slim hope but hope I guess! An average home record would have seen us around mid table and well safe!

Getting a bit embarrassing this post now. Bobby has only ever spoken positivley about the latics and with our current situation its now becoming a bit of a joke. It’s a bit of fun, don’t click on it if it doesn’t interest you!
I’ve already got a copy of it via the beeb, it’s 10 hours of the best action!
Everton bolstered their squad whilst we did the complete opposite! ;)
Who with?
Their two big signings were Barry and Lukaku, who were previously on loan.
By signing them he bolstered the squad surely?
They were both in the squad the season before.
By signing them he kept the squad the same surely?
Signing them made sure that nobody else snapped them up,securing them if you will and if you secure something then you strengthen it! You won’t beat me! ;)

Or just lay your bet off on Betfair if we’re 1/50, a tenner at that price will do it
I would have to put 5 grand on which indicates that the bookies share my confidence in picking up! The thing is I obviously felt confident that this would end like this when I struck the bet up! It has made accepting going down a Hell of a lot easier I can tell you! Oh, and if we do do the virtually impossible I will be even happier! Win win all the way for this happy punter! ;)
If we were 1/50 and your laying it you would only have to lay a tenner to win 500 why would you want to back us at 1/50 your already on at 9/2! Lay lay lay we stay up you win twice!
You’ve lost me? :S
I presume Betfair are offering a market but I don’t know so check first.
If they are and Latics are long odds on……
A. Open an account
B. Deposit a tenner
C. Click on lay 1/50 or whatever it is in decimal odds and place your stake, remember it’s lay not back
D. If we stay up you win twice, if we go down you win once just a tenner less
Only 1-10 with Betfair the robbing gets! All the others are 1-33 ( Obviously come in a bit after today’s win!)
